Abstract

ABSTRAK: Upaya pembentukan, pembinaan, dan pengembangan kebudayaan atau karakter masyarakat melalui bahasa telah dilakukan oleh Kepolisian Daerah Sumatera Selatan (Polda Sumsel) dan Kepolisian Kota Besar Palembang (Poltabes Palembang), upaya tersebut melalui Iklan Layanan Masyarakat (ILM). Beberapa ungkapan yang tertera pada iklan layanan masyarakat dimaksudkan untuk memberikan informasi, himbauan, ajakan, atau larangan. Fungsi iklan layanan  masyarakat yakni perubahan sikap setelah mereka membacanya. Penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat untuk maksud dari ILM tersebut. Pada ILM yang berupa kalimat deklaratif atau kalimat imperatif tersebut sekilas hanya memberikan informasi atau hanya berupa himbauan saja, namun jika dikaji lebih mendalam, slogan pada spanduk-spanduk ILM memiliki implikasi yang harus dilakukan oleh pengendara. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasar hasil analisis terhadap 16 iklan layanan masyarakat yang dikeluarkan oleh Kepolisian Daerah Sumatera Selatan (Polda Sumsel) yang di pasang di lokasi strategis di Kota Palembang selama tahun 2015 ini di dapati, iklan masyarakat tersebut bukan hanya berupa himbauan atau suruhan tetapi juga berupa larangan, ajakan, dan informasi.     Kata-kata kunci: bentuk, nilai komunikasi

Abstract

Abstract : The problem of this study was to find out whether it is effective or not to use students’ centered learning strategy in enhancing students’ speaking ability. It aims to find out the effectiveness of students’ centered learning method to enhance students’ speaking ability. The population was all of the students of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Tridinanti University Palembang in  academic year 2013-2014. They were 32 students and taken by using random sampling. The method was pre-experimental method by using pre-test and the post-test design. The data were obtained by means of  the test, the results were analyzed through the match t-test calculation. Based on the  finding, the writer found that the average score in the pre-test was 62.97, and the average score in the post-test was 75.62. From the matched t-test calculation, the writer got that t-obtained was 4.85. It showed that t-obtained was higher than critical value (1.684) . It can be concluded that it was effective to use students’ centered learning strategy in enhancing student’ speaking ability at Faculty of Teacher Training  and Education of Tridinanti University.Keywords : speaking ability, students’ centered learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The research aimed to find out the effectiveness in teaching writing of procedure text by using storyboard to the seventh grade students at State of Junior High School 53 Palembang in the academic year 2014/2015. The sample was the class of VII.1, consisted of 30 students. The method used in this research was pre-experimental method, with pre-test and post-test design. The data were obtained by means of the test and the results were analyzed through paired sample t-test calculation. Based on the result, the mean or average of pre-test was 11.93, the standard deviation was 3.754, and the standard error mean was 0.685. The mean or average of post-test was 18.47, the standard deviation was 3.277, the standard error mean was 0.598 and the writer got the t-obtained 10.640. It showed that t-obtained was higher than critical value (2.045). It can be concluded that it is effective using storyboard in teaching writing of procedure text to the seventh grade students at State of Junior High School 53 Palembang.Key words: writing skill, procedure text, storyboarding

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The objective of this study was to find out whether or not it was effective teaching English vocabulary in the theme of "Animals and Plants" using crossword puzzle. The population of this study was the seventh grade students of Junior High School Sriwijaya of Palembang in the academic year 2013/2014. The sample was taken from one class that consists of 30 students through convenience non-random sampling. The method of this study was the pre-experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test design. The data were obtained by means of the test, the result were analyzed through matched t-test formula. Based on the study, it was to found that teaching English vocabulary in the theme of "animals and plants" using crossword puzzle to the seventh grade students of Junior High School Sriwijaya of Palembang was effective. The students' score has increased from 67.7 in the pre-test to 85.08 in the post-test and it was found that t-test was higher than t-table (7.3 > 1.697). It means that teaching English vocabulary in the theme of "animals and plants" using crossword puzzle was significantly effective. Key words: vocabulary, animals and plants theme, crossword puzzle

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan produk bahan ajar yang efektif digunakan oleh siswa kelas X SMU Negeri 2 OKU. Bahan ajar yang akan dikembangkan adalah bahan ajar berbentuk modul yaitu Mari Menulis Cerpen. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode reserch and development dengan mengadaptasi model pengembangan Jolly dan Bolitho. Untuk memperoleh informasi kelayakan bahan ajar, dilakukan validasi ahli dan uji lapangan terbatas. Validasi dilakukan terhadap kelayakan materi, kebahasaan, penyajian dan kegrafikan dengan menggunakan angket sekala 5 oleh dosen dari Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Program Studi Teknologi Pendidikan PPS Unsri dan Universitas Tridinanti Palembang. Data yang diperoleh untuk melihat efek potensial diperoleh melalui tes tertulis. Subjek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 26 siswa. Berdasarkan analisis hasil validasi ahli, bahan ajar Mari Menulis Cerpen yang dikembangkan dapat dikategorikan baik atau layak. Hasil tes menulis sebelum dan setelah menggunakan strategi mind mapping memperlihatkan peningkatan rata rata nilai 68,53 menjadi 87,07 (selisih 18,53). Dengan demikian, bahan ajar Mari Menulis Cerpen hasil pengembangan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis dan layak digunakan di SMU Negeri 2 OKU.Kata-kata kunci: pengembangan, bahan ajr, menulis

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This paper highlights the integrating technology, cartoon story maker 1.1 in EYL classrooms in developing their writing English skills. It leads students to be creative, to work independently, to express themselves and to feel part of the learning process by actively participating in it.  This study used the quasi experimental research. The population of the study is VI grade students of SD Methodist 2 Palembang in the academic year 2014/2015. The purposive sampling is used on this study. In analyzing the data of the students’ achievement, the writer compared the results of the pre-test and post-test of each group to see whether they made progress and to find out the significance of the differences between their pre-test scores and their post-test scores. The result of the independent sample t-test: the value of t-obtained was 11.364. At the significance level 0.05 in two tailed testing with df =38, the critical value of t-table= 1.686. Since the value of t-obtained (11.364) was higher than the critical value of t-table (1.686). It means that there was significant difference in writing transactional and interpersonal conversation achievement between the experimental group and the control group. Key words: cartoon story maker V. 1.1, EYL classrooms.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Masalah yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) bagaimana struktur berita kriminal yang digunakan Paltv dan (2) unsur berita apa saja yang digunakan pada berita kriminal Grebek Paltv. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat bermanfaat pada kajian jurnalistik.  Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik sadap yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan teknik lanjutan, yaitu teknik simak tidak libat cakap, teknik rekam, dan teknik catat. Analisis data dilakukan dengan baca markah dan dokumentasi. Kata-kata kunci: struktur berita kriminal Grebek Paltv, unsur berita kriminal Grebek Paltv.

Abstract

Subjek Penelitan yakni siswa kelas VII SMP Kayuara Kuning Kabupaten Banyuasin tahun ajaran 2014-2015. metode pengumpulan data yaitu teknik tes, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil analisis data tes diperoleh untuk kelas eksperimen 78,38 dan untuk kelas kontrol 60,43. Untuk analisis data observasi yaitu terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen dengan rerata 71,40% sedangkan rerata kelas kontrol sebesar 57,81%. Dari rerata keaktifan hasil beljar siswa secara keseluruhan pada kelas eksperimen dikategorikan aktif sedangkan pada kelas kontrol dikategorikan cukup. Adapun hasil uji hipotesis didapatkan ada pengaruh pendekatan kontekstual terhadap hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran bahsa Indonesia materi menulis surat pribadi pada siswa kelas VII SMP Kayuara kuning Kabupaten banyuasin III yang ditunjukkan pada hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh p value> 0,05 (p=0,000). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulak, pendekatan kontekstual dapat dijadikan salh satu alternatif pendekatan pembelajaran.Kata-kata kunci: pendekatan kontekstual, menulis surat pribadi
