Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of contextual-based supplementary Nahwu teaching materials in five pesantren in Central Kalimantan using the Matan al-Ajrumiyyah text. The research uses a descriptive qualitative and quantitative EDDIE model approach. The subjects are seven ustadz. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Experts validated the teaching materials. Qualitative data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's method, involving data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Quantitative data from questionnaires were analyzed using the mean formula. The analysis revealed a need to shift from traditional to contextual-based learning, leading to the development of supplementary Nahwu teaching materials. The design phase identified the learning experiences and specific skills needed by the students. The designed materials included introductions (apperception), examples, explanations, exercises, conclusions, and reflections. The development phase involved creating supplementary materials to achieve the learning objectives, along with determining strategies, methods, and media. Expert validation showed an average validity score of 3.71, with a validity rate of 92.75%, categorizing it as very valid and usable without revision. Theoretical implications suggest that contextual-based Nahwu learning helps learners understand Nahwu and apply Arabic communication. Educational institutions teaching Nahwu can implement contextual-based learning to facilitate students' application of Nahwu.

Abstract

Teachers often overlook listening skills during the learning process, resulting in students needing help with this core skill for second language acquisition. Observations have shown issues with Arabic listening skills and a need for more utilization of online media in the learning process. Thus, this study aims to implement the online media website alefbata.com to enhance the Arabic listening skills of students in one of the MTs in Pandeglang Banten. The researchers employed experimental methods, including observation instruments, interviews, pretests, and post-tests, to collect data and determine the effectiveness of alefbata.com in improving listening skills. After analyzing the data, it is evident that online media is efficacious in improving Arabic listening skills. The post-test results support the claim that students' listening ability increased after exposure to online media. The experimental class had an average score of 82.78, significantly higher than the control class's average score of 42.41, with a difference of 40.37. Therefore, there was an increase in students' listening skills after processing it using online media in teaching activities for class VII B Mts in Pandeglang.

Abstract

The background of this research includes the complexity of challenges in managing Arabic language learning, especially with limited resources and the massive development of digital technology. This study aims to identify the strategies and steps the Head of the study program took in utilizing technology to digitalize Arabic language learning. This research methodology uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with the Head of the study program and participatory observation of the digitalization efforts made. The results obtained from the research show that there are three stages of digitalization efforts. First, the collaboration between Arabic Language Education lecturers is planned to revise the curriculum and upgrade semester implementation plans. Second, implementation should be done using interactive Arabic learning models and technology-based learning media. Third, monitoring the learning process between lecturers and students, student learning progress, reviewing the results of midterm and final semester exams and facilitating communication between lecturers and students regarding learning problems. Hopefully, this research can provide recommendations for other educational institutions in optimizing Arabic language learning management.

Abstract

There is still a perception that the singing method is only effective in small classes and with elementary school children. This study aims to apply the singing method as an innovative approach to learning Arabic vocabulary, in order to determine its impact on students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary in terms of pronunciation, fluency, and memorization. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive data presentation method. Data collection techniques include observation and interviews regarding the application of the singing method. Data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman Model involve data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The results of this study conclude that teachers create positive resonances, stimuli, and affirmations to foster student comfort, confidence, and engagement in the classroom. Teachers then provide examples and repetitions of Arabic vocabulary songs they have created. Singing Arabic vocabulary, accompanied by music, initially engages even the least enthusiastic students. Students who initially lack confidence become more assured and dedicated, leading to improved fluency in pronouncing Arabic vocabulary.

Abstract

Arabic language teachers have significant roles and challenges in internalizing character values through Arabic language learning. Teachers are responsible for teaching vocabulary and grammar and must also be able to convey character education values. This research aims to determine the concrete form of internalizing character education values through the Arabic language learning process at Ulumuddin Islamic Boarding School in Lhokseumawe, Aceh. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research design. The data sources include observations during the Arabic language learning and interviews with teachers and students at Ulumuddin Islamic Boarding School in Lhokseumawe, Aceh. The data analysis follows Miles and Huberman's approach, involving data collection, reduction, display, and conclusion. The research findings indicate that the concrete form of internalizing character education values through Arabic language learning encompasses planning, implementation, and evaluation of the learning process. In practice, teachers use interactive, collaborative, and applicative teaching methods, enabling students to not only master the Arabic language but also develop positive character values. The internalization of character education values through Arabic language learning can contribute to shaping a generation that is not only intellectually smart but also possesses character values, following the requirements of the Aceh Regulation of 2022 to strengthen the implementation of Islamic character education.
