Abstract

An Alumunium alloy 6061was produced by cold rolling and subsequently aging. Cold rolling is used for reducing grain size and aging is used for producing second-phase, thus improving hardness, strength and wear resistance. In the present paper, a process through cold rolling with reduction of 50%, 60% and 70% in thickness then aged at 2000C for 1.800, 3.600, 5.400, 7.200 and 10.800 sec. Microstructural analysis shows that the grain morphology consists of equaxied grain for as-received samples and elongated grain for sample after cold roll and aging. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis showed peaks phases in Al 6061 after cold rolled and aging. Hardness measurements showed that combination between small grain size and presence of second-phase led to a significant increase in the hardness. Maximum hardness of 121 HBN is achieve for sample after cold roll 70% and aged for 5400 second. The wear resistance testing showed that lost particles of 6,209951 x 10-6 mm3/mm for received sample and 4,775436 x 10-6 mm3/mm for sample after aging process. It is showed that high hardness related to increase the wear resistance. It is reasonable that the presence of second phases are function as obstacle for dislocation movement.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are: 1) Knowing the exhaust gas emission test result from Honda Brio Satya with variation of fuel 2) Knowing the type of fuel that produces the lowest exhaust gas emission value. This research is using experimental method. This research was conducted in the automotive workshop of SMKN Udanawu Blitar Regency. Test media is a Honda Brio Satya type E 2017. The emission test used QROTEC QRO 402 gas analyzer. The results show that: 1) There is influence of fuel type to vehicle exhaust emissions, both at idle and intermediate rotation; 2) The average of CO gas emissions at idle rotation with fuel of each premium, pertalite and pertamax are 0.026%, 0.023% and 0.003%. The average of HC gas emission at idle rotation in each fuel type are 87 ppm, 86.3 ppm and 30 ppm. Thus, pertamax fuel produces the lowest level of exhaust emissions. The third fuel type still meets the threshold of motor vehicle emissions threshold in accordance with PERMEN LH No. 5 of 2010 so it is worthy to be used as an environmentally friendly learning media.

Abstract

There are many important reviews about the flow characteristics in the body of the racing bike helmet caused by the relative motion of the air along the Trailing Edge shape. The lines formed in such a way in the speed field will form a streamline stream so that the lines are in line with the flow at each point in the flow field. Thus, the streamline will form a pattern of airflow around the helmet. This aerodynamic characteristic study was performed on time meter helmet body visualized numerically using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) with Solid Work Flow Simulation software. With variation of Trailing Edge 25 mm, 75 mm, 125 mm. Urgency research about helm time trial is believed to provide information about the flow that occurred. The result shows that the drag coefficient reduction that occurs on the cut variation of 75 mm compared with other variations on the Reynolds number 1.16 x 105 of 0.395.

Abstract

This study analyzes the loading on the model wheel-253 size 6.5 x 15JJ based on SNI 1896: 2008 with finite element method. This load analysis tested the resistance to dynamic radial fatigue on alloy wheels by using load simulation with quasi-static failure mode approach ie failure mode which is independent of time, and its resistance to failure is expressed with strength. Test wheels are said to fail if there is crack (crack) by giving the liquid penetrant. Crack conditions in the simulation can be seen from the stress and elastic strain. The equivalent elastic stress and elastic strain values that occur on the rim must be less than the Ultimate Tensile Stress (UTS) and the elastic strain at break. The properties values for Aluminum A356-T6 material for UTS of 228 N/mm2 and strain elastic fracture values obtained from a plastic material strain of 0.059 m/m.
