Abstract

The competitiveness of private schools can be seen from the school accreditation ratings. Private schools that have low accreditation values require strategies to improve their competitiveness. The purpose of this study is to analyze the strategic position of private schools in Tangerang using Strenghts, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, study of literature and documents, and questionnaires. Data analysis uses IFAS and EFAS, a SWOT analysis to analyze internal and external factors, Strenghts, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats to obtain a strategic position. The results of the SWOT analysis show that the schools analyzed are in quadrant IV (Weaknesses - Threats), which means the school is in the level of survival. Schools must be able to fix internal weaknesses to avoid and reduce threats. The threat of competition from other schools can be minimized by making unique competition as a differentiator among similar schools.

Abstract

The concept of green campus directs the operation of universities as an environmentally-based educational institution which also has an important role for the environment of the future. In Semarang, there are 2 (two) state universities that are included in UI Green Metric program, namely Diponegoro University (UNDIP) and University of Semarang (UNNES). UNNES’ rank in 2014 UI Green Metric which is better than the UNDIP’s rank also indicates that students at UNNES have more perception about knowledge and high commitment to campus sustainability compared to students in UNDIP. There is a correlation between the knowledge and commitment of students to the vision of the campus in order to achieve campus sustainability, as well as there appears differences between knowledge and commitment to conduct pro-environment activities of both universities. To know the significance of difference perception about campus sustainability between students of UNDIP and UNNES, questionnaires to 165 student of UNDIP and 165 student of UNNES are disseminated. The result of the survey concludes that the perception of campus sustainability of UNDIP students is still under UNNES. To identify the root causes of the problem of low interest and knowledge of students to the campus sustainability in UNDIP, a tool of problem solving which is Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with Fault Tree Analysis technique is required.

Abstract

Company typically purchase products to meet annual needs with little regard for actual demand conditions, resulting in considerable overstock and high inventory costs. This research aims to control PT. Multi Indocitra, Tbk’s inventory by ABC analysis, demand forecasting method, and  (y, R) EOQ. A total of 60 products of the company are 6 products with A classification, namely Breast Pump Electric Pro, Multi Function Sterilizer, Portable Breast Pump, Breast Pump Manual, Silicone Nipple Eco 48 + 6 Pcs Mix, and Home Baby Food Maker. Performed calculations with 4 methods of forecasting, namely single exponential smoothing, double exponential smoothing, trend analysis, and ARIMA. Based on the smallest MAD, MSE, and MAPE values, we obtain s-curve trend model for Breast Pump Electric Pro, Breast Pump Manual, Silicone Nipple Eco 48 + 6 Pcs Mix, and Home Baby Food Maker and quadratic trend model for Multi Function Sterilizer and Breast Pump Portable. The total inventory cost becomes more efficient than the actual condition.The results of product forecasting indicate a trend that increases linearly in the next period. (y, R) EOQ can assist company in lowering inventory levels. The calculation results and graphs of (y, R) EOQ indicate a stable trend and company inventory can be more controlled, so as to minimize overstock and stockout because ROP value already take into account of safety stock value.

Abstract

The current energy supply crisis is a strategic issue and therefore needs to be analyzed for Energy saving opportunities. Thermal Power Station with a capacity of 2 units x 60 MW at PT.MEI uses Compressor to operate its production.  The method of analysis of energy saving compressor opportunity is by observation method, measurement, data and analysis using software tools which released by SEAI (Sustainability Energy Authority of Ireland).  Result of research, it is known that the opportunity to save electricity energy is 703.644 kWh/year or Rp 422.186.296/ year and the decrease of emission of 579 CO2 (Ton).

Abstract

CV. 913 Production is convection in the Bekasi, West Java. This convection is producing jacket for men. The process of production in this convection, almost entirely made manually. Based on problems that often occurs in production process it caused by factors human error. Hence the CV.913 Production must have a high level of reliability. To deal with the problems of human error, a method that can be used is method of HEART (Human Assessment of Human Error). HEART method is the one of reduction technique in counting the probability of human error. From the settlement problem in CV. 913 Production by using the HEART method. So can be concluded that production activities that have bigger probability value of human error there are the process of designing and cutting raw materials. On both the process obtained probability value is 0.0104. The solution can researcher suggestions are to reduce the value of the error by operator was to set standards an operation these clearly and make one pattern which are permanent not to constantly changing.

Abstract

Coal mining business is now faced with various challenges such as export restrictions policy, an increase in value added products, and the decline in market prices of products. To be able to compete, mining companies are expected to increase productivity and efficiency and make continuous improvements in the production process. In the mining process, the availability of equipment and dump truck unloading tool will determine the sustainability of production that have an impact on productivity and efficiency. The purpose of this study was to optimize the production of coal mining in the context of the efficient use of equipment using the match factor, queues, and linear programming. The research location is in the area of the mining concession contractor PT KTD is in the village of Embalut, District Tenggarong Seberang, Kertanegara Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan in October-November 2015. Unloading equipment used backhoe excavator is 5 units and 32 units of dump trucks. The simulation results match factor generated by the method optimal dump truck needs 26 units, while the queuing method and linear programming as much as 25 units of dump truck. The results of production optimization with linear programming method produced mining productivity of 1,208 BCM of overburden per hour with the optimum cost of $ 0909/BCM.

Abstract

Measuring company performance using Balanced Scorecard method (BSC) begins with SWOT analysis by elaborating internal factors and external factors of company. From the results of this analysis it is known conditions in the current maintenance department and what strategies should be applied. Employee performance is one of the benchmarks of success of a company so serious attention to the management of human resources is absolutely necessary. During this time, performance measurement conducted by PT. BICC BERCA Cables only assesses the employee's softskill and is subjective. Therefore, there should be a comprehensive or comprehensive measurement of HR performance as in Maintenance Department. The purpose of this research is to identify Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that can represent the achievement of human resource performance, to know and analyze the result of HR performance measurement, and to get improvement proposal to improve IKK that does not meet the expected target and identify IKK that can represent human resource performance. The results of HR performance identification resulted in 10 KPI consist of Hard Skill and Soft Skill. The results of the analysis found that several KPIs need to improve their performance, which is related to MTTR Energy cable from 3 hours to 2.7 hours (8.33%), Expense spare part from Rp 138,274,851 to Rp 125,000,000 (9.6%) per month, Repair electronic component, electrical and mechanical from Rp 30,000,000 to Rp 40,000,000 (25%), Training from 2 kalx meniadi 3 times a month (50%) and Improved Score Matrix from 70 to 75 (7.1%).

Abstract

One of the most important issues in the manufacturing industry is inventory management. Inventory management control strategy affect the company performance in meeting consumer demand. In inventory management, there are two main things that concern the determination of the amount of stock and the exact time of booking. PT. XYZ is a company that produces various types of automobile spare-parts products that have not implemented maximized inventory management resulting in stockout, less productive sales, and operational operational constraints. The purpose of this study is to compare the performance of inventory management used by companies with the method POQ and min-max. Of the three methods the POQ method produces a smaller total cost, so the POQ method is recommended in the management of inventory in the company. Through the application of inventory management using the method POQ (Period Order Quantity) to generate sales productivity and managed to save the total cost of supply or obtained cost efficiency of 5.9% of the total cost or equivalent to Rp 41.558.530, 86, -.

Abstract

PT. ABC as the manufacturer of the mirror trying to make improvements is effective in all production lines, the achievement of value of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in the production department shows a very low OEE value. The main factors affecting the low value of the OEE is a factor of downtime, machine performance and high defect rate during the production process. Through analysis of the Six Big Losses obtained three factors, including the factor breakdown, reduce speed and quality losses. To identify losses and reduce the chances of system failure or process performed the analysis using FMEA method with the objective of determining the value of the highest RPN to priority improvements. The highest RPN value to the breakdown and quality was caused by the low quality of raw glass. While the highest RPN value to reduce speed due to the size factor process inefficient. Through the method of 5W+1H drawn up plans for corrective action to be deployed in production department. After doing the improvements for six months as recommended, the OEE value increased.

Abstract

The manufacturing industry has an important role in improving the economy of Indonesia. PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk. is one of the manufacturing industry that wants to increase its efforts to make improvements in the production process scrap products with the aim to decrease lead time and minimize waste production with lean manufacturing methods. Lead time is happening right now on average for 20.6 days which exceed management's target of 14 days. This research was conducted in order lead time and waste that occur can be known so that it can be anticipated, and can increase profitability and maintain customer satisfaction memo for PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk. Lean manufacturing methods used in this study with value stream mapping tool on scrap products. Value stream mapping is done by describing the current stream mapping, identification and repair of waste, then describe the future stream mapping to then simulation output calculation of the amount of production leadtime latest results. The results showed that the lead time is reduced scrap production process 10.49 days and waste that occurs can be minimized so that the yield of production output within 20 working days at 438 rim. The implication level of customer satisfaction will increase because the product ordered is not delayed and the target company also achieved.
