Abstract

The test instrument for the odd midterm assessment questions in the XI grade of the social science class of mathematics subjects has not yet been analyzed for its characteristics. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the characteristics of midterm assessment items of the mathematic subject in State Senior High School (SMA Negeri) 1 Ngaglik. The research is a research with post facto with a quantitative descriptive approach with subjects, namely the instrument items for midterm assessment questions in the form of open questions as many as five questions. The research object is a twentieth grade in SMA Negeri 1 Ngaglik that consists of 32 students. An analyzing data used Microsoft excel on manually of validity, power difference difficulty index, and reliability. The result showed that: 1) midterm test instrument of mathematics subjects are categorized very high, which means the items are valid with a V-Aiken index value of 1 for each; 2) from 5 questions, the difficulty index obtained was one which was categorized as an easy question and four moderate questions; 3) from 5 questions, two questions have good power difference category, and three questions were categorized sufficient; 4) the reliability obtained was 0,501 which was categorized as medium.

Abstract

The low interest in student learning can be seen from students paying less attention when math lessons are taking place. The noisy home situation makes it difficult for students to concentrate on learning mathematics at home. This study aims to determine the presence or absence of a positive and significant relationship between interest in learning and the learning environment at home with the learning outcomes of mathematics in students class VII MTs Muhammadiyah Gedongtengen Yogyakarta semester in the academic Year Of  2017/2018. This study's population was all students of class VIII odd semester at State Junior High School (MTs) Muhammadiyah Gedongtengen Yogyakarta in 2017/2018, consisting of 2 classes. The sample was taken from class VII B, which consisted of 21 students—the data collection ware test techniques and non - test. The data collection instruments were collected using a questionnaire and test methods. Test research instruments used were validity tests, different power tests, and reliability tests. The prerequisite test used was a normality test, linearity test, and independent test. Analysis of data used product-moment correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between interest in learning and the learning environment at home with the results of learning mathematics with Fcount = 5,3828 dan Ftable= 3,55 so that Fcount>Ftable, the double correlation coefficient of  (R) 0,6118 and the coefficient of determination double  (R2) 0,3742. While the double regression equation Ŷ = 16,57 + 0,35 X₁ + 0,42 X₂ and obtained too RC = 40,15% and RC  = 59,85% and EC = 15,03% and EC = 22,4%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there are differences in students' mathematics learning outcomes using guided discovery methods and the expository method. These populations in the study were the students of two classes. The design of this study uses Randomized Pretest-Postest Comparison Group Design. The technique of collecting data uses a test in the form of an essay. The test instrument used is a validity test. The data analysis technique used is the analysis prerequisite test, including the normality test and homogeneity test followed by hypothesis testing. The results of the experimental and control class hypothesis tests with a significant level of 5% and dk = 62 indicate that for students' mathematics learning outcomes (posttest) 1) there are differences in students' mathematics learning outcomes by using the guided discovery method and the expository method in class VII students. of State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 2 Kalasan, 2) Guided Discovery method is more effective than the expository method on students' mathematics learning outcomes of class VII of SMP Negeri 2 kalasan

Abstract

Learning and teaching material is a set of information that is very much needed to implement learning. Teachers and students need additional teaching materials in modules and learning models to facilitate algebraic material delivery. This study aims to develop teaching materials in mathematical modules covering material about algebra for class VII of junior high school with learning type Group Investigation (GI). This study's subjects were students of SMP Negeri 2 Prambanan and Junior High School (SMP) Muhammadiyah Ngemplak. The technique of collecting data uses observations, interviews, and questionnaires conducted before developing the product. The research instrument used was a need response and questionnaire to assess the module being developed using a Likert scale. Based on the research assessment results from material experts, the average score was 72, which was included in very good criteria. Simultaneously, the assessment of media experts is 82, which belongs to very good criteria. Students' response to the module at the trial stage is 93.09, and the response at the stage of the trial use is 105.61; both are in the good and very good category. Based on the students' expert assessment and response, the cooperative learning module type of investigation group is suitable for the learning process.

Abstract

Learning mathematics is still a lesson that is considered difficult for students. Student activities also seemed to be still low in class VII-D in the even semester of SMP Negeri 1 Imogiri. Bantul Regency. This study aims to improve mathematics learning activities using the Numbered Head Together (NHT) type of cooperative learning model for seventh-grade students in the even semester of the SMP Negeri 1 Imogiri in Bantul Regency 2018/2019 academic year. This research was included in the classroom action research consisting of two cycles. This study's settings were students of class VII-D State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 1 Imogiri Bantul Regency 2018/2019 academic year. Data collection in this study uses observation methods and interview guidelines. The instruments in this study used observation sheets and interviews. The data analysis technique in this study used a qualitative descriptive method. The results showed that the Numbered Head Together type of cooperative learning model could improve students' mathematics learning activities in class VII-D SMP Negeri 1 Imogiri  Bantul Regency 2018/2019 academic year. This is evident from the results of observations of mathematics learning activities of students who experienced an increase in each cycle and a positive response from the results of teacher and student interviews. In the first cycle, the percentage of students' mathematics learning activities was 60.75%, and in the second cycle, the average percentage of observations of student activities increased by 75.47%. The results of interviews obtained information that, in general, students are interested and feel happy in learning mathematics using the cooperative learning model Numbered Head Together.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the positive and significant relationship of mathematical communication and learning motivation to the problem-solving skills of Grade X Science Class Students at SMA Pondok Pesantren Modern Muhammadiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta in the academic year of 2018/2019. This is quantitative research. The research subjects are the Grade X of Science 4 Class Students at SMA Pondok Pesantren Modern Muhammadiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta in 2018/2019, as many as 36 people. The data is obtained through a test and questionnaire. The implemented instrument tests are validity and reliability test. The data analyzed using the descriptive method, statistical test, and hypothesis test. The result of the t-test on variable X1 toward Y with value > table or 1.77102 > 1.69092 shows a positive and significant relationship of mathematical communication to students' problem-solving skills. The result of t-test X2 toward Y with value > ttable or 2.29088 > 1.69092 shows a positive and significant relationship of learning motivation to students' problem-solving skills. The result of F-test X1, X2 toward Y with Fvalue > Ftable or 3.36743 > 3.28492 shows that there is a positive and significant relationship of mathematical communication and learning motivation to students' problem-solving skill.
