Abstract

Some students regard mathematics as a subject matter. Independence, concentration, liveliness, and student self-confidence are still low. The use of existing teaching materials less facilitate students in the process of learning mathematics. This study aims to develop and test Student Worksheet's feasibility (LKS) with a contextual approach on the linear equation system material of two variables for class VIII in Junior High School (SMP).  This research method uses Research and Development (R & D), covering the stage of preparation, implementation, testing, and revision. The data analysis technique used is the questionnaire instrument analysis. Research subjects are material experts, media experts, and students of grade VIII in SMP.  The result of the research and development of LKS shows that the material expert's assessment obtained 96,6 score with a very good criterion, from media expert 75,6 with good criterion. Moreover, the result of student response to LKS is good, with a scoring average of 47,75. The result shows that LKS, with a contextual approach on the linear equation system material of two variables for class VIII in SMP, is feasible to be used as learning material in the learning process.

Abstract

Limitations of teaching materials is a problem that affects the achievement of learning objectives. The existing teaching materials are still challenging to understand. One of the teaching materials that can help students learn actively and independently is the module. This study aims to develop, test the module's feasibility, and determine the student's response to the development of a mathematical module with the RME approach on the subject of statistics.  The research design used Research and Development with potential and problem steps, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trial, product revision, product trial, and revision trial. Research subjects are material experts, media experts, and student responses in Junior High School (SMP) Negeri 3 Pleret and SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta. This research object is a module of mathematics learning with an RME approach on the Statistic for Students class of SMP in the odd semester. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and interviews. Instrument test through lecturer validation and data analysis using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the material experts' scores obtained an average score of 83.333 with a good category. The media expert's judgment scored 111.667 with a very good category. The students' responses to the module received a score of 115.842 with the good category. Based on these calculations' results, the mathematics module developed possible use in learning mathematics.

Abstract

Mathematics learning result is related to many factors. Learning interest and learning environment at home are some factors that are suspected to be related to the student's mathematics learning result. The study aims to determine whether there is a positive and significant correlation between learning interest and learning environment at home with mathematics learning results of student grade VIII at State Junior High School (SMP N) 1 Sedayu Bantul, even semester academic year 2018/2019. The study population was students of grades VIII B, VIII C, VIII D, VIII E, VIII F, and VIII G of SMP N 1 Sedayu Bantul, even semester academic year 2018/2019 with a total of 188 students. A random sampling technique took the sample to class, and it was obtained that class VIII E consisted of 31 students. The data collection technique was used questionnaires and tests. The research instrument test was used as a validity test, a reliability test, and a different power test. The prerequisite tests analysis included a normality test, an independent test, and a linearity test. The analysis of data was used correlation analysis and linear regression analysis. Abstract

The lack of media and learning facilities, and the lack of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions, makes learning less exciting and monotonous. This study aims to develop e-modules based on HOTS questions with Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) learning models and determine the quality of e-modules developed. This study refers to the ADDIE model with Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. This study's subjects were teachers and 7th-grade students of Junior High School (SMP) Muhammadiyah Ngemplak and SMP Negeri 2 Ngemplak. This study's object is an e-module based on HOTS questions with STAD learning models on algebraic form material. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire assessment by material experts, media experts, and students. Data analysis techniques in the form of qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive. The results showed that material experts in the aspects of conformity, completeness, convenience, and clarity received values of 86%, 80%, 87%, and 88%, respectively. The media experts in effectiveness, ease, suitability, completeness, and communicative and interactive scores were 93%, 93%, 92%, 90%, and 92%. The average results of student responses from the two schools on convenience, clarity, suitability, appearance, attractiveness are 90%, 90%, 90%, 94%, and 92%. So it can be concluded that the e-module produced is classified both in terms of material, very good in terms of media, and very practical in its use.
