Abstract

Research on moisture content distribution in the root zone is intended to determine the moisture content in accordance with tea plant and its distribution pattern. Measurement of moisture content by using gypsum block as media liaison between the soil and water in the soil moisture is conducted by means Bouyoucos Soil Meter. Moisture content is obtained by performing measurements on a laboratory and field scale. Laboratory scale test is emphasized on calibration of the gypsum block to be applied in the measurement field. Site measurement was made in three drill holes, each 150 cm in depth, which are at peak, slopes and valleys in the study area that had been predetermined. The result of research shown that high moisture content about 50% –95% which tends to increase downward modeling on moisture content has similar result to the field measurement. Tea plants needed of relative large moisture content, since it requires a moisture content continuosly and yields of tea leave.

Abstract

UNSOED has LAN connection which covers almost all of its units, with minimum bandwidth consupmtionat anaverage of275,318 Kbpsfrom a total of 3 Mbpsso we may apply VoIP system in order to replace voice communication system whichis still using PSTN and PABX. Thereforewe need to know aboutjitter and packet loss ofLAN,and also the codec needs tobedetermined due to voice quality expected and also bandwidth consumpted. Measurementscarried out in two scenariosbased on topologies used in UNSOED (star and ring), in the first scenario (star and ring)server placed on serverfarm meanwhile the second scenario(ring) server placed on Pertanian node. Codec adjusted to the available bandwidth capacity and total of phone number that has to handled. The result show that 0,759 ms jitter obtained from scenario 1 and 0,513ms from scenario 2, both of them included in good category with 0-20 ms of range value, otherwise 0% of packetloss obtained from both scenarios these indicated that LANincluded in good category. There is iLBCcodec with 30 ms packet size which is the mosteconomic on bandwidthcost among G.729, G.711, and iLBC (20 ms), because it cost1995,84Kbpsof total bandwidth usedforhandling 140 phone number. Beside that, it has good voice quality with 4,138996 MOS value. So if we use iLBC (30 ms) codec on the VoIPsystem, there will be still a lot of free bandwidth which can used for other applications, it is about 695,873 Kbps(worst condition) and also get a good-voice quality-VoIP.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menguji kemampuan transceiver untuk komunikasi antar mikrokontroler Atmel ATMega328 melalui jalur Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter  (UART). Modulasi yang digunakan adalah Amplitude Shift Keying (ASK) dengan frekuensi pembawa 433 Mega Hertz (MHz). Pengujian dimulai dengan uji respon perubahan tegangan dan waktu tunda berupa gelombang persegi dengan frekuensi 20 Kilo Hertz (KHz). Sinyal yang diterima oleh reciver berubah menjadi gelombang segitiga dengan adanya pergeseran waktu. Frekuensi pengiriman diturunkan sedikit-demi sedikit hingga gelombang yang diterima receiver terbentuk gelombang kotak pada frekuensi 17,1 KHz. Ditemukan adanya waktu yang diperlukan oleh penerima untuk mempertahankan kondisi, dengan amplitude yang berbeda dari dari tegangan puncak penerima. Dari hasil pengujian tersebut, dapat dihitung perkiraan kecepatan data (baud rate) yang mampu ditangani oleh transceiver. Pengujian dilanjutkan dengan mengirimkan data dengan kecepatan Baud rate standard mulai dari 28800 bps.  Dihasilkan bahwa data diterima sama dengan data yang dikirim pada kecepatan tersebut.  Pengiriman data yang dilakukan dalam jangka waktu 1 jam tidak ditemukan error.  Saat baud rate ditingkatkan menjadi 38400 bps, data yang diterima tidak sama dengan dengan data yang dikirim.

Abstract

Column calculation on frame system is a long and iterative process. This program is used to calculate column on general aspects, these aspects are slender, biaxial, braced frame and sway frame. This program uses Borland Delphi 7.0 language. Data input consists of material data (fy, f�c), load data (Pu, M1bx, M2bx, M2sx, M1by, M2byand M2sy), column data (b, h and L) and beam data(bb, hband Lb). The gained result is the table that contains output data of calculation, that is slender limit, k.Lu/r, ψA, ψB, k, δB, δS, Mc, As, As/Ag, β, Pn pl, Pn ada, Mn pl, Mn adafor axe x and axe y. For validation, output of calculation can be compared between manual and program calculation. The results of comparison are the biggest error percentage 0,0054% and smallest error percentage 0% (not difference). This is because in manual calculation there is always rounding every step, while in the computer calculation rounding is done at the end of process. Performance of the program is proper and satisfying to be used in short time and accurate.

Abstract

Indonesia is one country with the population growth rate is large. This condition will require the opening of new land for settlement. Limited land sometimes requires people to open new land on the slope areas. Opening of new land on the slopes will use the method of cutting the slope to get flat land (terrace). Cutting this slope would result in increased potential for landslides due to slope stability menurunya. Evaluation needs to be done at the opening of new land on the slopes, where the slope should remain stable after the porch is made. This research was conducted to evaluate the maximum terrace width was in stable condition. The model used in this study is a plane strain by the count to element method. The main purpose of this research is to obtain the maximum terrace width formula on a slope. Dilakukan analysis on three ).�), cohesion, (c) and angle of internal friction (�variables, namely slope( Variations to the variable angle between 30o-55o intervals 5o, 5 kN/m2 cohesion between-25 kN/m2 with intervals 5 kN/m2, and internal friction angle between 20o-45o intervals 5o. Maximum terrace width count conducted for each combination of these variables. Formulation of the maximum terrace width is done by multiple linear regression methods, linear nin and a combination of both. Determining the best formula is based on the value of the correlation koofisien. Results formulations have two formulasis the formula for the maximum slope of the natural slope and a maximum width of the terrace on a slope.

Abstract

A good workspace significantly affects on work productivity. Therefore, in designing a workspace, it is necessary to put much concern on lighting condition. A good condition on it can make workers comfortable during their activities and further increase productivity.This research shows data taken from real-lighting condition in small-medium handmade Batik industry,namely Batik Sogan which is located in Yogyakarta. The object of this research is a workspace with some working activities for example sewing, over edge sewing, and buttons attachment. With Dialux 4.8 software, the research is conducted to compare between direct measurement and lighting simulation result, as well as giving recommendation to improve lighting condition which fits in standards. The result shows that the lighting condition in Sewing-room in Batik Sogan is below standard, i.e., 91 – 125 lux. Therefore, sewing-room condition must be improved, so that the lighting condition may meet the standardized lighting for working conditions which is 500-1000 lux. Simple and cheap improvement to it are to replace the type of the lamp into Philips 4MX091 TL as many as 4 items and to change the colour of the rooms and the desks into white, so it can achieve the maximum lighting 693 lux, which has met the minimum standards for rather- soft working lighting.

Abstract

This research was aimed to know bamboo influence to the physical, and chemical characteristic, and water quality. Parameters observed are temperature, color, taste, odor, pH,DO (dissolved oxygen), BOD (biochemical oxygen demand) and COD (biochemical oxygen demand). The result showed that bamboo influence to the physical and chemical characteristic is smaller effect, except to the DO and COD parameters, it is polynomial change. The result of water quality showed that water to bamboo distribution is suitable used to drinking water resources.

Abstract

Sediment rate of Mrica reservoir is much faster than its early design by which it causes life time service of Mrica reservoir becoming shorter than previous assumption. Sediment control has been being operated by flushing, but it seems less optimal. This research aims to develop both laboratory models of fluidization and fluidizer systems for controlling sedimentation in Mrica reservoir.This research was carried out to experiment model in a laboratory regarding effectiveness of fluidization system especially to support sediment flushing. Sample sediment tested was from Mrica reservoir bed. There were two models including a flushing model alone and a flushing model assisted by a fluidizer pipe. Experiment was conducted in various discharges, sediment depths, and pipe pressures.The research results show that sediment category in Mrica reservoir is cohesive material consisting around 80% of medium to coarse silt. Compared to the flushing mechanism alone, the combination of flushing and fluidization can increase the volume of sediment removal by 67.54 %, 67.88 %, and 71.26 % for the discharges of 0.123 litre/sec, 0.185 litre/sec, and 0.369 litre/sec respectively. The combination of flushing and fluidization is also able to improve model efficiency by around 4.38 %, 4.54 %, and 5.07 % for the same variation of discharges.

Abstract

Laminated bamboo is a kind of engineered structure to improve mechanical properties of bamboo. It is done in order to meet the need of building materials to the building structure. Laminated bamboo are constructed by gluing a slice bamboo, so it has its advantages can be made in any size and a more uniform mechanical properties of natural bamboo. Mechanical properties is required for structural analysis. Good modeling in structural analysis and numerical properties must be supported by valid mechanical properties. ASTM D143 explains the procedure in getting the mechanical properties of wood . This study refers to ASTM D143 to get laminated bamboo mechanical properties of the material are then arranged in a linear elastic lamina mulitilayer Orthotropic . Proficiency level parameter values for bamboo laminate is Young's Modulus ( E ) , EL = 11 840 MPa ; ER = 511.14 MPa ; ET = 814.39 MPa , Poisson ratio νLR = 0.179 ; νLT = 0.229 ; νRT = 0.231 , and Modulus Slide (G , MPa) GLR = 2.6112 ; GLT = 1.0435 ; GRT = 1.0435.

Abstract

Shale and claystone of Watukumpul Area have capability to become the source rock of hydrocarbon because of the ability to conserve the organic material better. Potential of the rock become source rock is depend on its maturity and total organic carbon.This research test eight example of rock to analysis their total organic carbon (TOC) and rock eval pyrolisis. Only one sample is claystone, while the seven others are shales. The analyses provide data of total organic carbon, hydrogen index, and vitrinite reflectances which was used to interpret source rock potential of research area.Through this research is known that the organic material content of shale and claystone of research area own the fair level of total organic carbon. Organic material is included Kerogen Type III with the origin of land organism or plant.These kerogens of research area prefer to produce gas or gas prone. Organic material or kerogens have reached the matured phase to generate hydrocarbon (mature level). Special follow the rock sample came from Location 8 which have over mature level. Its high maturity is suspect have relationship with the intrusion of diorite igneous rock in this research area. Further research is needed to investigate the relationship between diorite intrusion and organic material in this research area.
