The journal contents are managed by the Binus Business School, Faculty of Economics and Communications, and Forum Manajemen Indonesia (FMI). BBR has been accredited by DIKTI under the decree number 158/E/KPT/2021. BBR provide a forum for lecturers, academicians, researchers, practitioners, and postgraduate students to publish empirical multidiscipline research in business & management research, from operations to corporate governance and marketing. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the interdependence between the variables of marketing strategy and organizational performance of insurance companies using canonical correlation analysis with multiple multivariate analysis approach. The interdependent correlation value may explain the subgroup which the dominant variable affects other subgroups on the company based on the value of redundancy index. The study population was 9 go public insurance companies when the study was conducted in 2013. Given two exogenous variables, i.e. variables Effectiveness Strategy (STRAEFEK) and Efficiency Strategy (STRATEFIS). Endogenous variable is the Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR), Debt to Eqiity Ratio (DER), Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), Operating Profit Margin (OPM) and Net Profit Margin (NPM).

Abstract

Implementation of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is an investment that does not appear in an organization. Indonesia State-Owned Enterprise, in particular manufacturing sector that have the leeway and autonomy to do ERP investments in supporting the achievement of its vision and mission. The World Economic Forum, put Indonesia on a ranking of 82 among the countries in the world in ICT utilization. This research aimed to test how big the investment that has been implanted in the area of information technology in the manufacturing sector, State-Owned Enterprises and the extent of the investment for the competitiveness of the company as well as its contribution to the wind of change on the manufactures business in Indonesia. This research was conducted to explore the performance of ERP implementation project. ERP implementation success rates seen from aspect of project management, determination of critical elements of urgency and contextual factors. The result is that all independent variables influence significantly to the success of the implementation of ERP of SOE’s manufactures. The greatest contribution to the success of such in sequence is an element of urgency determination of critical factors, a contextual factors, and management of the project.

Abstract

PT Damai Sejahtera Utama is a manufacturing company engaged in timber production. The company is processing wood sticks (logs) into plywood. The purpose of this research is to find the most efficient production patterns with the pattern approach 3 (three) of production, namely: Wavy production patterns, production patterns Constant, and Moderate production patterns. With this method is expected to determine the most appropriate production pattern with the condition of the company, so as to minimize Incremental costs that will occur. The results of this study indicate that by using corrugated production patterns can cause incremental cost of 3,330,267,500 IDR. For Constant production patterns can lead to costs amounting to 3,696,317,500 IDR whereas if the company uses pattern Moderate production costs to be incurred amounted to 3,289,417,500 IDR. From the results of this study showed that moderate production patterns have the smallest Incremental costs compared to the wavy or constant patterns of production.

Abstract

Factor analysis of non functional Demand Non-Member On to Demand aimed to discover whether there is significant influence of non-functional variable on demand. Three independent variables (the effect), ie, X1 for Snob Effect (Mode), X2 for the Bandwagon effect (Prestige) and X3 for the Veblen Effect (Show-off) and 1 dependent variable Y for Demand. The number of respondents of 50 and 22 indicators is statistically valid. Analysis tool using the Model Correlation and simple Regression (Simple/Bivariate), Correlation and Regression Simultaneously (Multiple) Regression and Partial Correlation. The results of analysis proved statistically with LOC of 95%, indicating that the bivariate, partial unison and Simultaneously there is positive and significant correlation between variables X to Y, except for variable X2 (Prestige) on Bivariate correlation.

Abstract

A problem in accounting information systems of expenditure cash cycle in PT NR is estimated purchase raw materials often left over and valuable. To overcome it, accounting information with computer-based systems was designed related to raw material purchase that is expected to speed up procurement process and avoid fraud and error. The system processes waste materials that will be stored and used properly, so as to increase efficiency in purchasing raw materials. The analysis used for the construction of this system was business process analysis, problem identification, and analysis of information needs. The result achieved is accounting information systems of expenditure cash cycle to overcome the problem existing in the company. Research concludes the use of information systems can speed up purchase process and avoid fraud. Raw material management with system will make it easier to perform the calculation of actual costs and improve internal control.

Abstract

Every organization needs to realize that the inside knowledge should be used efficiently and effectively, and also should get support from knowledge culture. The purpose of the writing is the development of knowledge management based on talent management to support the existence of knowledge culture. The method used is through survey, interview, direct observation and literature study. Survey and interview had been done in Talent Management BINUS University, especially in Learning and Department (L&D) unit. The direct observation is through key performance indicator of lecturers. The literature study is through exploring scientific journals, especially related to the topic of knowledge management through website. The result is that it could be concluded in strategy of policy and award rewarded used to approach knowledge management development in supporting knowledge culture.

Abstract

For learning achievement, it is acknkowledged that there are many factors influencing such as internal motivation from students, like willingness or motivation, self discipline and another important thing is level of intelligence. The background of this research  is lot of students are not able to follow  the lessons well, and  the effect is they face some difficulties on their academic achievement, including the areas of accounting subject loaded with mathematic or counting subject. Many students are not happy about math subject, so it makes them less of motivation to learn, and ultimately affects the achievement. Therefore, the writer is interested in conducting research presented in this paper. The factor on this research is to determine whether the influence of mathematic on learning motivation and learning achievement for the students majoring in Accounting Students of Economic hoping to improve the quality of learning process in producing quality graduates. Population on this research is all Accounting Department students, Bina Nusantara University. Research method used is parametric statistic, with purposive sampling, and in processing data is SPSS method with regression analysis tool.  From the research, it is concluded 1) there is significant effect of mathematic factor to the learning motivation, and 2) there is not the significant effect of mathematic factor to the learning achievement.

Abstract

In terms of improving corporate performance and the efforts to create a healthy business climate, particularly in state-owned company, the application of the principles of good corporate governance (GCG) needs to be improved. Research conducted at PT Aneka Tambang Tbk is evaluating the application of the principles of GCG is in compliance with regulations applicable or not. In evaluating the data, the author uses descriptive method of research using a case study approach. The author gives a clear picture of the actual state of the object of research by looking at the facts that exist. After the data is obtained, the suitability evaluation based on several sources of theory relevant to the issues discussed. The authors collected data from PT Aneka Tambang Tbk through interviews and direct observation of the parties relating to corporate governance. Based on the evaluation, it can be concluded that PT Aneka Tambang Tbk has applied the principles of good corporate governance and in accordance with the existing parameters of the OECD 2004. With the application of a good and appropriate, effectivity and improved corporate efficiency and welfare of its employees, shareholders, and company stakeholders has also increased. In addition, the results of the evaluation stated that the consultation of shareholders against the company are very important stakeholders and should be maintained in order to create fluency in information exchange and exchange ideas effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

Global challenges of the current causes increasing competition among national and international businesses. Under these conditions, the company realizes the importance of quality and efforts to enhance competitiveness by doing improvements consistently and continuously in order to meet customer and market needs. This study aims to examine the effect of the implementation of ISO 9001 quality management system onemployee performance, and the moderating effects of job satisfaction and employee commitment to the relationship between the application of ISO 9001:2008 quality management system on employee performance. The method used to analyze is Partial Least Square (PLS). The results show that the application of ISO 9001:2008 quality management system affects performance of employees with employee satisfaction and commitment as moderating variable that affect the relationship between the application of ISO 9001:2008quality management system on employee performance. Both variables, moderating employee satisfaction and commitment have positive parameter estimation, so that when the satisfaction and commitment of employees increase, it will give effect to the improvement of the implementation of the ISO 9001:2008 quality management system on employee performance.

Abstract

Boarding house around Binus University campus which is the informal sector continue flourishing and developing in line with the development of Binus University. Investors continue to invest in this business with a capitalization of billions of rupiah. With the increasing demand from year to year and the utility room that is always high, in July 2010 this boarding house business had to deal with Binus Square, a new business unit of Binus which is a special exclusive residential for Binus University students with a capacity of 2500 people.This research aims to find out are there still investment opportunities of boarding house amid the establishment of Binus Square through the creation of competitive advantage. Data are retrieved through questionnaires which are circulated to residents of boarding houses that served Binus Access and analyzed by using descriptive statistics.The result showed that there are still opportunities to open up boarding houses around Binus University with a focus on improving facilities and services that lead to private services.
