Abstract

The purpose of this article is to criticize halal policies in Indonesia. Halal in Indonesia was initially voluntary, and was issued by the social organization, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). Then in 2014 the government under the Halal Product Guarantee Implementation Agency (BPJPH) took over through the Halal Product Guarantee Law No. 33 of 2014. Taking over halal authority from Community Institutions (MUI) caused halal which was previously voluntary to become an obligation. (mandatory). And its full implementation will take place in October 2024. The halal obligation of course means that the community, especially small and medium business actors such as those in Malioboro, are obliged to carry out halal certification. This research is field research and is qualitative in nature. From the research results, 10 informants who were interviewed by researchers, 5 informants agreed to the halal certification policy even though it was expensive, 3 informants did not agree to the halal certification policy because they had just found out that halal certification was paid, 2 other informants looked at the situation and conditions and followed it if it had been implemented sanctions from the government regarding MSMEs that do not have a halal certificate

This study uses a quantitative method with secondary data obtained from the official website of BCA Syariah. The sampling method through purposive sampling with research data analysis techniques includes classical assumption test, multiple linear regression test, and hypothesis test, The conclusion of the hypothesis test partially shows that NPF and FDR have no effect on Profitability (ROA), while FDR and BOPO have no effect on Profitability (ROE) in BCA Syariah. Meanwhile, simultaneously Non-Perfoming Financing (NPF), Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) and Operating Income Ratio (BOPO) affect the Profitability (ROA) of BCA Syariah. Abstract

This study defines consumption as using products and services, but it also emphasizes how crucial it is to addressing personal needs. The purpose of this study is to examine how budget maximization is viewed as a gauge of consumer happiness in Islamic economics. This research methodology combines a review of the literature with a qualitative approach. The study's findings demonstrate how, in the Islamic economic perspective, consuming is seen as a way to satisfy people's basic requirements. Religion is a major factor in influencing people's consumption decisions. Strong religious convictions will influence consumption in a significant way, affecting both this world and the afterlife.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the incorporation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in sharia banking through a qualitative approach based on library research. The research literature is utilized to explore theories, policies, and literature related to ESG implementation in the Islamic banking sector, drawing from various sources such as academic articles, industry reports, and relevant regulations. ESG has emerged as a global trend, urging financial institutions to embrace socially responsible practices. Islamic banking inherently aligns with ESG principles, encompassing values such as justice, social responsibility, and good governance. Despite the harmony between sharia and ESG, this research identifies several challenges in implementing ESG in sharia banking, including compliance with specific regulations, inadequate impact measurement tools, and instances of greenwashing that focus more on specific products like green sukuk and ESG integration. However, there exists a significant opportunity for Islamic banking to enhance ESG integration through the innovation of ESG-based financial products, such as productive waqf, which can support sustainable social and environmental projects. This research provides an original contribution by critically analyzing the challenges of ESG implementation in Islamic banking and offering recommendations to surmount these obstacles. The novelty of this research lies in uncovering the potential for broader ESG implementation in sharia-compliant banking, involving regulators, industry, and society as the main stakeholders. Recommendations also include the development of a more specific regulatory framework and incentives for Islamic banking to comprehensively integrate ESG.
