Abstract

Librarians actually played a major role in contributing to the development of a civilized. but its role is not seen by most people . The problem is when people seeing  the library, as if the librarian is blocked by a row of collection that is increasingly to be older  and increasingly away from the elements to present . That said, when mentioning the word library, people thinks refer to a medium of human civilization, namely books. For a long time, the book became the primary knowledge resource, compiled by the library. This happens because the position of the library was considered only as a storage place only, and turns up the assumption that the modern age so shall still can not be eliminated. Abstract

We now accept the fact that learning is a lifelong process of keeping abreast of change. And the most pressing task is to teach people how to learn (Peter Drucker).  An educator using various technologies in the process of teaching and learning activities that are useful to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning in the classroom. Has developed a wide variety of learning strategies from simple to more complex models even complicated and require a lot of tools in its application. In the present era the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in the learning process has become a common and ordinary. ICT use can be made of multimedia teaching materials with the concept of learning by playing fun and developed on an application-based learning mobile learning. The use of mobile devices (mobile device) is very useful to support the learning process and increase flexibility in teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

Scientists from several centuries ago has conducted formally scholarly communication activities for the deployment of science and research that has been done. Media used at that time still in the form of leaflets research results in scientific articles or through a book. Until the time of publication of a magazine, researchers have seriously publish their writings in the media, because in addition to more regular publication, will also be faster than the process of publishing a book. Along with the development of knowledge and technology, the use of print media for the dissemination of knowledge has gradually been replaced on the electronic media. The library, which in this case has evolved into a knowledge management institutions have an important role in the dissemination of knowledge with its media and its function as a means of scientific communication. In this paper will be presented on the role and efforts in building a library of scientific communication media. Among them is the management of electronic journals that will bring changes to the communications media. The result is the need for further study of the media that was built by the library to the ongoing scholary communication. Abstract

This article describes the factors which affect the promotion of librarians. There are two factors that affect promotions librarian they are external factors and internal factors. Internal factors originating from within the librarian in question, for example: interest, motivation, sincerity, perception became a librarian, education, and interest in working in the library. External factors come from outside librarians are concerned, for example: unit value of the credit rate in grain activities of librarianship are too small, the working environment less conducive, the assessment team less competent in assessing, achievement of top management to librarians less support, appreciation of institutions,to the librarian is very lack . Keywords: Librarian, Promotion of librarian

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine challenges facing bibliographic classification at both the practical and theoretical levels. At the practical level, libraries are increasingly dispensing with classifying books. At the theoretical level, many researchers, managers, and users believe that the activity of “classification” is not worth the effort, as search engines can be improved without the heavy cost of providing metadata.

Abstract

Competency is defined as a benchmark to determine the extent of the ability of librarians in    using the knowledge they can get and skills.Librarian is a person who performs activities of libraries by providing services to the public in accordance with the duties of their parent institutions based on library science. Librarians must meet the standards of competence or the ability in the field. So from the competency standards set by the professional organizations of librarians performance benchmarks can be set.
