Abstract

The condition of Hulu Sungai Utara Regency as an area dominated by wetland can be an interesting potential that is expected to attract tourists to visit. One of the areas that can be developed into a wetland tourism area is Banyu Hirang Village. But unfortunately, the utilization of the village area as a recreational tourist destination based on wetland is still lacking. The potential of the community in producing UMKM products in the form of woven handicrafts purun and water hyacinth also needs to be appreciated so that it can be one of the centers of woven handicrafts in Hulu Sungai Utara Regency. The design of this wetland tourist attraction aims to preserve and introduce to tourists about the potential and utilization of natural resources in wetland in helping the economy of the community. The method of problem solving in this design focuses on the approach of 3 aspects of wetland contextual architecture, namely visual, activity and environment with 5 principles of ecotourism development, namely conservation, knowledge, tourism, community participation, and economy. The relationship between the contextual aspects of wetland and the principle of ecotourism produces sustainable tourist areas with wetland environments, where the time order is divided into several zones, namely reception zones, service zones, transition zones, educational zones, recreation zones, culinary zones and relaxing zones. Planning each zone is expected to create a special character of wetland that can provide harmony with the surrounding natural environment.

Abstract

Culture is very important to be preserved, but there are some obstacles that must be followed up. One of them is the lack of attention of the younger generation to the history and culture of the region. Efforts are needed to provide awareness to the younger generation that it is important to preserve their own culture. One of the cultural preservation efforts is to provide a space for expression and appreciation to broaden horizons by applying technology from several digital media through video, sound, simulation, hologram, animation, and other visual effects. The design of the Bakumpai Dayak cultural gallery in Marabahan is a form of preservation using the Linguistic Analogy method and the concept of Contemporary Architecture. This cultural gallery functions as a medium of information about the history of the Bakumpai Dayak culture by making technology the main tool that plays an important role in this design.

Abstract

The Meratus Geopark is a government program to preserve the Meratus Mountains. These mountains stretch from the southeast to the northwest of South Kalimantan Province. These mountains have biodiversity and non-biological diversity which in recent years has been massively exploited to the point of environmental degradation. To reduce and anticipate environmental damage, the local government cooperates with various parties to initiate the Meratus Geopark program. In 2019, Geopark Meratus succeeded in becoming part of Geopark Indonesia, but until now there is no Meratus Geopark Information Center available. The Meratus Geopark Information Center is planned to be built in Pumpung Cempaka Village which is known as one of the largest diamond mining villages in South Kalimantan. The architectural problem to be solved is "How is the design of the Meratus Geopark tourism information and research center that is able to become a center for geological studies as well as being able to educate the public to participate in preserving the natural environment of the Meratus Mountains?". To solve this problem, the Mawaris Meratus concept was initiated as an effort to raise awareness and educate the public to protect Meratus' wealth. This concept is realized by using the active learning method. This design resulted in the Meratus Geopark Information Center which educates the public to take a role in preserving and inheriting the natural environment of the Meratus Mountains.

Banjarbaru has the opportunity to develop local potential in the field of art, especially works of fine art in line with the era of globalization so that there needs to be a container of interest as well as interactive public education facilities that can generate curiosity and mindfulness to provide new experiences in the meaning of art for the general public. Therefore, the Public Art Space in Banjarbaru is designed as a solution to the architectural problems raised to meet these needs. The design of Public Art Space in Banjarbaru applies the concept of mindfulness which refers to 3 design elements namely sequential, lighting, and pause then completed by the approach of Expressionist Architecture through the processing of architecture elements, namely the shape of space and the form of circulation. The design idea aims to realize a functional design for its users while making the Public Art Space in Banjarbaru an expressive unit in implementing the process of meaning art related to the value of fine art from local artists both individually and collectively presented to the general public.

Abstract

Astronomy is one of the oldest sciences of human civilization. In the past, our ancestors navigated the sea using the stars as navigation and the sky as a determinant of the period of cultivation. Astronomy has provided many benefits to our life up to now. Nowadays, astronomical phenomenons are associated with certain beliefs and even the public at large does not yet understand why those occurred. It is very important to socialize Astronomy to support the rapid development of science and technology, so the planetarium can be the answer, as a bridge between humans and science. The architectural problem raised in this design were "What is the design of a planetarium in Banjarbaru that is able to provide spatial experiences with different contexts/stories in each space, has an recreative-educative function, and provides a futuristic visual image with the concept of Space Walkers using the Space Simulation method?" This design was realized by using the Spatial Simulation method as a space for user interaction and the solution to problems using the concept of Space Walkers so that space is not only limited to space but is able to tell stories and provide experiences with different contexts/stories.

Abstract

Sungai Baru is a settlement of the home industry for ketupat, lontong, and nipah handicrafts which is traversed by the Martapura River, one of the biggest rivers in Banjarmasin City. However, the existence of this home industry has decreased which impacts the economic conditions of the residents. Therefore, Sungai Baru area has the potential to be used as a tourist area that can increase the existence of home industries of ketupat, lontong, and nipah handcrafts to maintain the Banjar culture. The main of the architectural problem for this study is the protrusion of the identity of the ketupat village which can increase the potential of the area. Through the concept of the Eco-Regionalism program with contextual architectural methods, it is hoped that the tourist area can highlight the characteristics of the Sungai Baru area as a ketupat village by paying attention to environmental and community aspects.

Abstract

Banjarmasin holds rich history and culture along its riversides which is supposedly to be conserved. Regarding this, the Department of Tourism of Banjarmasin City created a program Called Kota Pusaka and are willing to develop Sungai Jingah’s riverside settlement to become a Tourism Village. In this work of planning the writer applies Infill Design method to synthesize designs corresponding the surrounding houses, whether it would be matching or given the context of nowadays technology and materials. Infill Design also allows for contrasting designs to be formed. The purpose of applying Infill Design method is to add the functions of tourism into the existing settlement. The results are that the area able to be built on are empy sites and sites with broken down houses. The mass shapes for matching and compatible buildings and elements are gable roof or stepped-up roof. The mass shapes for contrasting buildings and elements are composed of transformed shapes with folds and rolls.

Mental disorders are one of the social phenomena whose number is increasing every year. The increase in people with mental disorders is not accompanied by an increase in mental health facilities in Indonesia, especially in Banjarbaru. The existence of this creative space is also expected to be able to change the paradigm of society regarding the issues of mental disorders which are still bad. Through a design that puts forward the concept of sequences through the use of ramps and corridors that are able to provide a space experience for visitors, where the space experience can make visitors more expressive so that designs are made expressive through collaborative and flexible activities and designs through interiors and the use of furniture. on the plan. With this creative space, it is also hoped that the rigid impression that exists in mental health facilities will disappear, and can generate creative activities for the Banjarbaru community, especially for people with mental disorders.
