Abstract

Model Pembelajaran dengan Strategi Kooperatif Tipe STAD untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemahaman dan Penalaran Matematika Siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui Model Pembelajaran dengan Strategi Kooperatif Tipe STAD apakah dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman dan penalaran matematika siswa sekolah menengah kejuruan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI TKJ 1 dan kelas XI TKJ 2 di SMKN 3 Seluma. Uji persyaratan analisis data yang digunakan adalah Uji Normalitas (Uji Liliefors) dan Uji Homogenitas (Uji Fisher). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar tes Kemampuan pemahaman dan kemampuan penalaran matematika siswa berbentuk uraian, lembar observasi, Lembar Kerja Siswa. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji Anava Campuran (Anava Mixed Design). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Model Pembelajaran dengan Strategi Kooperatif Tipe STAD dapat Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemahaman dan Penalaran Matematika Siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan. Kata kunci: Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe STAD, kemampuan pemahaman dan penalaran matematika.

Abstract

The research aims to produce a student’s text book and a teachers’ guide book with realistic mathematic as the fundamentals. The objectives are to increase knowledge, attitude, and mathematical aptitude of students’ of SMP Al Karim Bengkulu. The Research was an experimental research seeking to produce students’ text book and teachers’ guide book in order to help reader better comprehends the concept of two-dimensional figure, rectangle, and triangle. In order to develop the design, there were four steps of the research: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The research object was VII class students if SMP Alkarim Bengkulu academic year of 2014/2015 that comprised of 17 students, consisted of 8 male and 9 female. The current findings have several conclusions regarding the ideal criteria of better students’ text book and teachers’ guide book with realistic mathematic as the fundamental: 1) It should be able to help students constructing the knowledge instead of merely receiving the knowledge; 2) in order to be able to improve student’s attitude, the book should be designed to provoke curiosity and students class participations; 3) in order to be able to increase mathematical aptitude, it should be able to increase students’ mathematical skill as well as observation skill,  and using the formulation that has previously given. The Research findings have indicated that the book with aforementioned criteria was able to help the students reaching better score with average of 80.02 and 76 percent of students in the class were able to reach higher score above the pre-determined standard (KKM). Findings from the observation sheets have also shown that students were able to reach 4.1 score or in other words the students were highly active and involve during the study process. Findings from the mathematical aptitude sheets have concluded that the students were able to reach 4.03 score or in other words were highly creative. Keywords: Developing Students’ Text Book and Teachers’ Guide, realistic mathematic, mathematical knowledge, attitude, mathematical aptitude.

Abstract

In our daily life, we often draw conclusion regarding some phenomenon to get new information from sampleof the population. By doing so, we unconsciously learn the inferential statistics informally or known as Informal Inferential Reasoning (IIR). Therefore, it can be said that IIR is close to our live. As a result, it is wise to use IIR in introducing inferential statistics to students. In introducing IIR, a set of learning design needs to be made. In this research, the design would use Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) as the approach of the learning and dot plot as a visual representation. This paper describes the probabilistic language students used in expressing some uncertainty when making generalization. The method used is design research. The involved subjects in this research were six students of VII-8 at SMPN 7 Tangerang Selatan. The results showed that the probabilistic language appears when students generalize the data. Moreover, probabilistic language also appears when students added samples in growing sample activity. Probablistic language which appeared in this research are “mungkin”, “hampir sama”, “kurang sama”, and so on. Keywords : design research; informal inferential reasoning; probabilistic language; uncertainty.

Abstract

This study aims to generate descriptions about mathematical representation of the students of Class IX SMP Alkarim of Bengkulu City using Two-Variable Linear Equation System (TVLES) based on extended level triad ++ after exploratory study. The test instrument is about to find out by exploring (exploratory study) students mathematical representation about set operations based on the Extended level Triad ++. The steps taken in the development of test instruments were such as, the preparation of the research permit, the implementation of the test, correcting and analyzing the test results, grouping the students into the levels of the Extended Level Triad ++ based on the test results, selecting subjects which were two students from each level to be interviewed, conducting trial interviews with several Class IX students, revising interview guidelines, conducting interviews with selected subjects using interview guides and audio recordings, analyzing data, making recapitulation of data and conclusion, and finally preparing reports. The subjects of this research were the students of Class IX of SMP Alkarim of Bengkulu City academic year 2015/2016 with total of 11 students. Based on the result of the research and discussion, it was generated the descriptions of mathematical representation of the students of Class IX SMP Alkarim of Bengkulu City about Two-Variable Linear Equation System (TVLES) based on the extended level triad ++ after the exploratory study, which are the following: there was no student in Pre-Level 0 (Pre-Intra); there were 2 students for Intra Level (Level 0) i.e. AR and LR; there were 2 students for semi intra level (level 1) i.e. PS and NN; there were 2 students for Inter Level (Level 2) i.e. PR and RO; there were 3 students for Semi-trans level (level 3) i.e. QN, RA and SW; there was 1 student for level Trans (Level 4) which is MD; and for the extended trans level (Level 5) there was only 1 student i.e. HN. Keywords: Exploratory study, Mathematical Representation, Extended level Triad ++

Abstract

Penerjemahan merupakan proses pengalihan pesan penulisan bahasa sumber ke dalam bahasa sasaran. Kesalahan penerjemahan teks bahasa inggris seringkali dijumpai dalam hasil terjemahan mahasiswa Pendidikan matematika FKIP Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM). Dalam kurikulum Pendidikan Matematika FKIP ULM terdapat dua mata kuliah yang mendukung atau memberi bekal untuk mahasiswa dalam berbahasa inggris. Pada mata kuliah ini mahasiswa belajar kosakata matematika dan pembelajaran, membuat rencana pembelajaran matematika SMP dalam bahasa inggris dan menerapkannya dalam simulasi pembelajaran di kelas. Selain itu mahasiswa juga menerjemahkan teks berbahasa Inggris berupa buku teks matematika maupun artikel pembelajaran matematika. Mengingat pentingnya kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menerjemahkan teks artikel berbahasa inggris maka perlu penelitian untuk mengetahui analisa kesalahan penerjemahan sehingga dapat mengetahui kemampuan menerjemahkan teks pada mahasiswa.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini menjelaskan analisis kesalahan penerjemahan teks bahasa inggris yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa matematika yang mengikuti mata kuliah bahasa inggris matematika tahun ajaran 2016/2017 kelas B yang berjumlah 41 orang. Sedangkan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan sampel total. Artikel ini menggambarkan kesalahan siswa dalam menerjemahkan kosakata matematika dan pembelajaran pada artikel berbahasa Inggris.Kata Kunci: analisis, kesalahan, terrjemahan

Abstract

Intersection and union concepts are crucial part of operation in sets, especially in solving word problems and creating the venn diagram. In fact, not a few students do fallacies in representing sets word problems into a sets operation, so they do mistakes in solving the problems. This study aims to investigate students’ thinking in learning intersection and union concept, specifically by using colored cards. The learning is designed under Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach and the principle used is emergent modeling. The method used in this study is design research. The subjects of this study is 25 students of the 7th grade junior high school, in which five of them were the focused group. The main findings in this study are description of students’ thinking while learning union and intersection using colored cards in the class, and any kinds of students’ ‘diagram venn’models. Keywords: design research, intersection, realistic mathematics education, union, venn diagram

Abstract

Abstract. This research was motivated from observation during my apprentice where the teachers were still using conventional learning model in class. In this rapidly changing era, students will find it difficult to face the advances in education. For that reason, we need a model of learning that can make students to be more active in learning, so that their ability can thrive well. Collaborative learning is one of the learning models using students’ cooperation as its main core and demanding the students activeness in solving problems especially math problems. Hopefully it can improve students understanding and make them get good learning outcomes. The main problem of this research was to find whether there are differences in mathematics learning outcomes of students who acquired collaborative learning and those who acquired conventional learning on the subject of cubes and beams. The type of research used was Pseudo Experiments. This research was conducted in class VIII SMP 16 Kota Bengkulu from April 5 to April 27, 2016.  Data collection was done with learning result test. The test was conducted before and after learning. The data obtained were analyzed by statistic Z test. From the result of the research, it was found that there were differences of mathematics learning results of students who acquired collabotive learning versus those who acquired conventional learning. Collaborative learning was able to make students more active in learning so that their understanding to the material seemed to be better. For further research, it is recommended that the subject be expanded to other classes, try other lessons that can improve students mathematics learning outcomes and it is better that improving the students’ learning outcomes be supported with facilities and other supporting factors. Keywords:  Model, Differences, Collaborative Learning, Conventional Learning

Abstract

One of skills which must be achieved by mathematics pre-service teachers is the basic skills of teaching mathematics. By having these skills, the pre-service teachers are expected to be able to become qualified teachers of the field they are going to have. However, there are still many mathematics pre-service teachers and mathematics teachers who haven’t achieved good basic skills of teaching mathematics. This was one of many factors that cause students’ low achievement in math. This study aims at solving the problem by developing learning materials with Search-Solve-Create-Share strategy to enhance the pre-service teachers’ basic skills of teaching mathematics. The research method used in this study is modified research and development method. Abstract

This study aims to produce teaching materials teaching math with discovery learning models that can improve understanding of the principles of mathematics and logical reasoning of students in SMA Negeri 1 Jarai district. Lahat. This type of research is the R & D (Research & Development), using the model of development of learning tools 4-D. Research subjects comprised for students of class X3 SMA Negeri 1 Jarai district. Lahat amounting to 23 people composed of 5 men and 18 women. Instruments in the study includes (1) sheet validation assessment of mathematics teaching materials discovery learning model (2) sheet practicality teaching materials discovery learning model, (3) copies of the effectiveness of teaching materials discovery learning model in the form of sheets of observations of the activities of teachers and students, a questionnaire sheet student responses, tests the ability of understanding the principles of mathematics, logical reasoning ability tests student, achievement test sheet. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive analysis. Abstract

Pembelajaran adalah suatu upaya menciptakan kondisi yang memungkinkan siswa dapat belajar. Berdasarkan hasil pengalaman peneliti sebagai guru matematika kelas VIII di SMPN 14 Banjarmasin bahwa hasil belajar siswa masih rendah dan perlu ditingkatkan.  Oleh karena itu, untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa salah satunya menggunakan model pembelajaran Means End Analysis (MEA). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui aktivitas siswa, (2) mengetahui hambatan-hambatan, dan (3) mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada penerapan model pembelajaran Means End Analysis (MEA). Penelitian ini dirancang dan dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-F yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi dan tes. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif dan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) aktivitas siswapada siklus I berada pada kualifikasi cukup baik dan pada siklus II berada pada kualifikasi sangat baik. (2) Hambatan-hambatan pada penerapan model pembelajaran MEA di antaranya adalah (a)  sulitnya bagi seorang guru memberikan bimbingan secara merata kepada setiap kelompok siswa, (b) siswa masih kesulitan ketika bekerja secara berkelompok, (c) ketika menampilkan hasil pekerjaan kelompoknya siswa masih kebingungan bagaimana cara menyampaikannya di depan siswa yang lain  (3) Terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada penerapan model pembelajaran Means End Analysis (MEA). Kata kunci:  Hasil belajar siswa, Model pembelajaran Means End Analysis (MEA)
