Abstract

The development of private vehicle ownership is very rapid, but it is not balanced by adequate supporting infrastructure such as roads and parking lots. Especially for parking lots, parking horizontally will be difficult to develop because of the limited land availability. The addition of parking lots can be done vertically by building a multi-storey parking building. So far, the existence of multi-storey parking buildings has not provided an information system on the availability of parking spaces. The form of multi-storey parking lots often makes the driver have to go around few times to find an empty space. This situations wasting of energy and time. This study aims to design an information system as application models in human-computer interaction, that will inform someone there is empty or already filled parking space, so that it can save time and make it easier for drivers to find parking spaces to park their cars. This information system prototype design consists of three main parts, called sensors, controllers, and displays. Car parking control system that works with an automatic portal (parking gate) along with a display screen for information on the location of empty parking spaces and those that have been filled. The portal will open if information states the parking lot is still available, and the portal will not open if information states the parking lot is full.

Abstract

The workers who work at incense shaping department using a chair without backrest. The container is placed below cause the worker to take it with a bent position. The table to put incense is too short, so that when held incense on the incense pads the position of workers tends to bend. These conditions cause the musculoskeletal complaints, fatigue, and increase the workload. The purpose of the study was to analyze an improved working conditions and combination of static stretching and McKenzie exercise to improve physiological response in the form of decreased musculoskeletal complaints, fatigue, and increase worker productivity. Research has been done on 10 workers working in the incense shaping department. The study was conducted in March 2018 - April 2018 held at UD. Manik Galih Tabanan. Physiology response was assessed using Nordic Body Map questionnaire 30 Items of Rating Scale. Intervention was applied in working station using chair with backrest, static exercise and McKenzie exercise. The different between Period 1 and Periode 2 were analized. The resultshowed that mean fatigue (post) at Period 1 was 55±1.49 and Period 2 was 36,8 ± 2,89, so decrease 41,48% significantly (p<0.05). The mean of musculoskeletal complaints after work in Period 1 was 73.6±4.46 and Period 2 was 43±4.53, decrease about 41.57% significantly (p<0.05). The productivity average of period 1 was 0.119 ±0.038 and period 2 was 0.198±0,055 an increase of 35.80% (p<0.05). It cloncluded that improving working condition and combination of static stretching and McKenzie exercise can decrease physiological response and increase work productivity for workers in incense shaping department at UD. Abstract

Harvesting of mangosteen is manually by climbing trees or using simple harvesting tools that made from bamboo. In order to increase productivity, it is necessary to design mangosteen harvesting equipment by referring to harvesting anthropometry. Anthropometric data were collected from 30 (thirty) mangosteen harvesters which included height, shoulder height, knee height, arm length, hand reach up to grip, front hand reach, palm length, index finger and thumb diameter to the middle finger. The making of the tool refers to the 5th percentile data to get the maximum dimension of the tool for farmers who have SMAll and comfortable bodies for those who have large bodies. The results showed that the average harvesting height was 150 cm, shoulder height 125 cm, knee height 37.92 cm, arm length 47.62 cm, hand reach above grip 177.54 cm, forward hand reach 65.67 cm, the front hand reaches 59.45 cm, the thumb grip diameter to the index finger 37.70 mm, and the thumb grip diameter to the middle finger is 44.17 mm. Based on the anthropometric data, the design of the harvesting equipment was obtained using a telescopic system with a length of 3 m which can be shortened to 1.5 m, the diameter of the handle 3.2 cm, and the shape of the mangosteen fruit resembling the letter “V” with an aluminium plate construction.

Abstract

Leather handycraft industry produces handicrafts such as bags, shoes, wallets, belts. On production process atcutting division, work posture condition is too bent. A preliminary study on 20 workers found musculoskeletal complaints was greater than 50% at 16 items, mostly in upper limbs. Based on these complaints, research was on work posture using RULA and Sympton Questionnaire. Research purposes was to determine the risk level and relationship with UEWMSDs on the worker. The result of RULA found that work posture with RULA score was 7 (seven) that means 3 (three) risk level that very high category, and needs to be repaired as soon as possible. Symptom Questionnaire answer related to worker's complaint, which are complaints of shoulder and arm pain was 50%, pain after work 1-4 years was 85%, duration of illness <1 hour was 85%, move to another part due to illness was 55%, pain increase when the activity was 100%, and pain reduce at rest was 90%. Base on the condition, it was needed to redesigned cutting table evaluated by RULA category 3 (three) based on anthropometry of workers

Abstract

Industrial activities developed from households to large-scale industries, including the development of industries in the field of canning fish. Worker health is one of the important things in a company, can be achieved by choosing the right work method. This study was conducted to determine whether ergonomic oriented working methods in the process of wiping canned sardines can reduce musculoskeletal complaints and fatigue in workers. The study design was two period cross over pre and post-test group desig). The research was conducted at PT. BMP Negara. It was held in December 2016. Total sample were 18 workers who wiping cans of sardines. The difference in conditions between before and after activities using ergonomic un-oriented working methods and ergonomic oriented working methods are compared and tested statistically. Comparison tests were carried out on scores of musculoskeletal complaints and worker fatigue. The results showed that ergonomic oriented working methods decreased of musculoskeletal complaints 17.82% (p<0.05) and fatigue score of 11.86% (p<0.05). The conclusion of this study is that ergonomic oriented working methods in the process of wiping sardine cans reduce musculoskeletal complaints and work fatigue of workers in PT. BMP Negara.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal disorders which are an injury or pain in the human musculoskeletal system can reduce productivity especially the warehouse workers at a tire industry. This research aims to observe the prevalence and the factors which increase the musculoskeletal disorders among the warehouse workers at a tire industry. Thirty warehouse workers of a tire warehouse participated in this study by filling out a Nordic Body Map questionnaire or skeletal muscle complaints instrument. The result of this study showed that the highest prevalence of the musculoskeletal disorders at the warehouse workers at a tire industry occurred at the lower back area. The factors which influence the risk of musculoskeletal disorders of the warehouse workers at the tire industry are age, weight, educational background, and the duration of working by using the lower back, knees, and ankles. To reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders, it is necessary to supervise the work posture and design a work environment which involves all members of the company.
