Abstract

The objectives of this study are: 1) to find out the application of the talking stick model to improve the understanding of fourth grade students at SDN 101930 Perbaungan 2) to find out the increase in understanding after the implementation of the talking stick method in grade IV SDN 101930 Perbaungan. The subjects in this study were fourth grade students, totaling 20 students consisting of 12 male students and 8 female students. The research method used in this study is the classroom action research method (CAR) consisting of four stages in each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research consisted of two cycles, cycle I and cycle II. Data collection techniques used in this study are interviews, observation, documentation, and tests. The results showed that: 1) the application of the talking stick model could be implemented well, as evidenced by the results of observing teacher activities that increased from a value of 79.3 (enough) in the first cycle to 91.4 (very good) in the second cycle. The results of observing student activities got a final score of 78.8 (enough) in the first cycle, increasing to 94 (excellent) in the second cycle. 2) the increase in students' understanding after the implementation of the talking stick model increased from 25% of students who completed the pre-cycle, in the first cycle increased to 57.5% (enough) and in the second cycle increased to 80% (good).

Abstract

Mastery of concepts is one of the goals of carrying out learning activities for someone, to understand and understand an object or objects through observation and someone's experience in solving problems, so that mastery of this concept becomes a concept that is not easily lost / erased. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine whether the guided discovery learning model had an effect on students' mastery of concepts. The sample used was 30 students of Medical Education, Islamic University of North Sumatra. The instrument used is a description test item which consists of five questions. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence between the application of the guided discovery learning model on students' mastery of the concept.

Abstract

Based on an observation done at Senior High School 1 Badar, the most common problems found was on student worksheets (LKPD) used in the learning process which only in the form of question sheets so that they only focused on verbalism skills. Based on this issue, the researcher want to develop the students worksheet (LKPD) and find out the appropriateness of the development in student worksheet based on guided inquiry. This is researh and development (R D), which is a method used to produce a particular product by testing the effectiveness of the product. Validation of material experts on the content feasibility component shows the total score of 194 with a percentage of 88 .18%, with the "Very Eligible" category. Validation of material experts on the linguistic component shows the results of the total score of 115 with a percentage of 82.14%, with the "Very Eligible" category. Validation of material above on the presentation component shows the total score of 124 with a percentage 88.57% in the Very Eligible category. Based on the above calculations, the observations made by  the experts about the entire part of the teaching materials for student worksheets reached 86.29%. If it is matched with the table of eligibility criteria, then this achievement score is included in the Very Eligible criteria. Thus, it can be concluded that the student worksheet (LKPD) Based on the guided inquiry approach can be used in the learning process in secondary schools.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to see how far the implementation of sports and health physical education (PJOK) during Covid-19 at SMP Negeri 1 Kutacane in 2020, this type of research uses descriptive methods and qualitative approaches with evaluation research types. The number of subjects was 25 people. The results of the study, even though in the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic, the learning process at SMP Negeri 1 Kutacane was still carried out, even with the physical sports and health education learning method using online media, the material taught was in accordance with the Learning Process Plan (RPP). The participation of students in PJOK learning was very enthusiastic even in a pandemic condition where the learning process for Physical Education Sports and Health continued using video/power point tutorials. In addition, the process of assessing students in online learning is carried out well

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning on students' critical thinking skills in grade XI of SMA Negeri 1 Stabat. This study uses a quasi-experimental research type and the design which is used one quivalent (Pretest and Posttest) Control-Group Design. The research method which is used  the experimental method using two classes, namely the experimental and control classes. The significance value obtained is 0.000 0.05 so it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Hi is accepted. The results showed that there was an effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on students' critical thinking skills and was effective for improving several indicators of students' critical thinking skills in the Digestive System subject in grade XI of SMA Negeri 1 Stabat.
