Menurut International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN )Species Asing Invasif merupakan jenis-jenis tumbuhan asing yang berkembang dan menyebar di luar habitat aslinya, sehingga mengancam ekosistem, habitat, atau jenis yang lain. Species Asing Invasif dapat berasal dari habitat yang berada di luar pulau, kepulauan, benua ataupun negara aslinya. Lebih lanjut The Invasive Sepscies Advisory Committee (ISAC) menegaskan bahwa gangguan terhadap suatu ekosistem akibat masuknya Species Asing Invasif dapat menimbulkan kerugian-kerugian ekonomi, kerusakan lingkungan dan juga gangguan kesehatan manusia.

AHMAD JAUHAR ARIEF. 1987.The composition and distribution of coral-reef molluscs community in Leuweung Sancang Reserve, West Java,Berita Biologi,3(7): 310 - 316.Observation was made on the moluscan fauna of coral-reef area at Leuweung Sancang Rcseive, West Java.All together,43 species of molluscs,representing three classes were collected The study mostly concern with the composition and distribution of these groups of animal.The analysis suggest that type of substrats is one of the major factors influencing the life habit of mollusc.The relationship between two aspects with the life habit and habitat is discussed.

Due to its high vitamin and nutrition content, banana (Musa paradisiaca L.) is deemed necessary as the mineral resources. The demand on the disease free seedlings are recently increasing. However, facing the problems of Fusarium attack in the production centers, health seedlings in the sufficient number are difficult to be provided. Hence, to solve the problems, mutative induction and in vitro selection to the shoot tip explants has been carried out in banana cv "Ambon Hijau", This research was conducted at the tissue culture laboratory of Indonesian Center for Agricultural Biotechnology and Genetic Resources Research and Development. On level of 500; 750; 1000; and 1500 rad, Gamma ray radiation have been applied, continued by in vitro selection by using 0, 30 and 45 mg/1 fusaric acid. The selected explant about 0,5 cm were treated for 2 x 4 week selection period. The result showed that the best medium for regeneration was MS basal medium contains 3 mg/1 BA. The irradiation could increase somaclonal variation as well as created some new somaclones that resistant to fusaric acid. However irradiation and in vitro selection caused inhibition of culture growth. The more dosage of irradiation and concentration of fusaric acid decreased regeneration rate of explant. Inoculation by using conidia (5 g/kg soil) provided 18 putative mutant and higher concentration of conidia (lOg/lOkg soil) produced 37 mutant that resistant to Fusarium.

Note on species richness of gastropods in coastal area of Leti Island, southern Banda was conducted as a part of Southern Banda Expedition on October 7-16, 2015. Sample collection was carried out by hand picking in Serwaru, Tutukey village, Leti Island, Southwest Maluku. A total of 125 individu from 25 species of gastropods was found. The highest number of individu is Clypeomorus moniliferus. Generally, gastropods found in this area were associated with rocky hard substrate.

Cendana sebagai komoditi bernilai ekonomi tinggi yang persebaran alaminya terdapat di Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), merupakan kebanggaan masyarakat setempat. Nilai ekonomi tanaman cendana terdapat pada kayu gubal, teras, serbuk dan ampas serta minyak cendana. Kayu cendana digunakan untuk kerajinan dan minyak cendana untuk obat-obatan dan kosmetik. Dampak dari nilai ekonomi yangtinggi adalah sering terjadinya penebangan secara liar (tidak terkontrol), sehingga kehidupannya semakin terancam. Penebangan yang tidak terkendali ini tidak memperdulikan aturan-aturan yang berlaku baik dari segi tertib hukum maupun dari segi konservasi seperti ukuran lingkar batang, umur tanaman dan intensitas penebangan. Dilihat dari umur cendana yang berkualitas bagus dapat ditebang pada umur berkisar 40-50 tahun. Walaupun cendana cukup berpotensi karena harga jual yang cukup menjanjikan tetapi tidak membuat kesejahteraan hidup masyarakat meningkat. Hal ini karena monopoli pemerintah terus berlanjut bagi tanaman cendana yang tumbuh di pekarangan maupun lahan lainnya milik masyarakat; sehingga terjadi masalah yang cukup serius mengenai cendana ini bila dilihat dari segi ekonomi,ekologi serta perilaku masyarakat. Selanjutnya bagaimana hukum pengelolaan cendana dan bagaimana perilaku masyarakatnya dengan berlakunya ketentuan hukum tentang cendana di NTT. Dibutuhkan tertib hukum yang menyangkut aspek yuridis seperti hak dan kewajiban, kedudukan hukum, peran serta masyarakat serta kepatuhan masyarakat. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemerintah sebagai penanggungjawab penyelenggaraan pengelolaan cendana di NTT belum mengadopsi azas-azas hukum umum pengelolaan sumber daya alam hayati (SDAH) yang berlaku di Indonesia. Adanya pengaturan hukum yang memberikan hak mengelola cendana kepada Pemerintah Daerah mengakibatkan penyimpangan yang lebih merugikan cendana dan habitatnya di NTT. Sosialisasi hukum lingkungan dan peraturan lingkungan lainnya perlu segera disosialisasikan kepada seluruh masyarakat NTT.

A fertilization was set up in September 1993 in species-rich dipterocarp forest in the Barito Ulu study site in Central Kalimantan.The experiment was unusual in that previously reported fertilizer experiments have been made in montane forest. The following treatments were applied: control, +N, +P and +NP. There were five blocks of four 50m x 50m plots with a separate treatment for each plot. Fine litterfall was collected on all of the plots from May 1994 for one year. There was evidence of higher litterfall quantities and increased of P and N in the litterfall. All trees (> 10 cm dbh) were measured in August 1993 and in July 1994 and there was a clear girth increment response of some dipterocarp species to +NP and small size of trees to +N.

Lake Batur is the largest lake in Bali island, however information on introduced fish community is not available yet. The research aimed to identify the community structure and ecological status of the introduced fish in Lake Batur, Bali. The study was carried out on May, July and October 2011 using survey method. The fishes were obtained using experimental gill nets and by fishermen. Data analysis included index of diversity, evenness, dominance, species richness and the abc (abundance-biomass comparison) curve. The results showed the tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) was the dominant species. The status of introduced fish community suggested to ecological stress but it was relatively undisturbed.

Rubiaceae is a cosmopolitan family of flowering plants distributed at almost all over the world. This family consists of 611 genera and 13,500 species. One of the 611 genera is Guettarda that has 50 to 160 species. Guettarda speciosa L. is one of species within Guettarda which is distributed from East Africa to the Pacific Islands including Indonesia. The objective of this study, therefore, was to determine the species’ distribution in Indonesia and its potential use. The data was collected from herbarium specimens deposited in Herbarium Bogoriense, field collection data from exploration by Center for Plant Conservation, Indonesian Institute of Sciences, and NKRI Expedition in West Papua. Based on the collected data, an analysis was conducted to create distribution map of the species. Information related to the potential use of this species in Indonesia showed thatit iscommonly used as ornamental plant, although Rumphius reported that in Ambon the wood or bark of this species was usually boiled together with root ofArtocarpus as a traditional medicine for diarrhea.

The ability to produce indole acetic acid (IAA) by endophytic bacteria is one of the basic criteria for the use of bacteria as plant growth promoter agent which is essential for the agricultural production.The objectives of this study were to evaluate the ability of 17 bacterial isolates to produce IAA and its effect on improvement of rice seed germination and molecular identification of the selected isolates based on the 16S rRNA gene. The IAA content was determined using Salkowski method measured by spectrophotometer UV-Vis and the effect of endophytic bacteria inoculation on seed germination was done by in vitro assay. Sequences of the selected isolates 16S rRNA amplified by PCR were analyzed the homology against bacterial 16S rRNA database in Genebank. IAA values ranged from 6.632 to 50.053 mg/L with the highest IAA production shown by isolate 6KJ which was followed by 4PB (41.807 mg/L). Bacterial IAA increased rice seed vigor significantly compared to control. However, bacterial inoculation with different concentrations of IAA did not significantly affect the growth of rice plants. Based on the IAA and its effect on seed vigor, 6KJ, 4PB and 2KB were selected for molecular identification. Results showed that the three isolates belonged to Bacillus genus, 6KJ as B. aryabhattai, 4PB belonging to B. cibi and 2KB having 97% homology with B. marisflavi. Further evaluation of the selected endophytic isolates producing IAA is necessary to be carried out to explore their potency as a source of hormone to promote plant growth.

Studi taksonomi jamur di Taman Nasional Gunung Halimun (TNGH) belum dilakukan dengan intensif.Sebanyak 35 jenis Agarics dikoleksi dari kawasan TNGH meliputi 23 marga dan 9 suku.Kekayaan keanekaragaman jamur ini diperoleh dari eksplorasi di 3 lokasi yaitu Cikaniki, Gunung Botol dan Gunung Telaga (Ciptarasa).Sejumlah sampel belum teridentifikasi karena karakter yang belum jelas.Oleh karena itu, jumlah jenis-jenis baru dari eksplorasi ini belum dapat diketahui.
