Abstract

Science learning should be learned by following the nature of science, which refers to the learning process, from the process of learning processed in such a way as to produce products, attitudes, and technologies used by students as a means to improve cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities. The observations showed that science learning is less inviting students to find and address problems in society, as a result of students' attitudes towards the environment less, and the learning outcomes obtained by students are also low. Therefore, there is a need for learning activities that can empower the learning process by using the project-based Science Technology Society (STS) learning model. The purpose of this study is 1) knowing the implementation of the syntax of project-based STS learning model in students of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program Semester 7 academic year 2019/2020 FKIP Universitas PGRI Madiun in environmental pollution material, 2) knowing the improvement of learning results. This research is a class action study, conducted in three cycles consisting of the stage of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Validation of research is done by the triangulation method. Cognitive learning data collection techniques using tests, affective learning results using observation sheets and polls, and psychomotor learning results using observation sheets and tests. Data analysis using qualitative and inference analysis techniques. Concluded in the study namely: 1) STS learning model has been implemented well by STS syntax: problem orientation, concept formation, concept application, concept strengthening, and assessment in students of Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program Semester 7 academic year 2019/2020 FKIP Universitas PGRI Madiun environmental pollution material, 2) there is an increase in student learning outcomes in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects.

Abstract

Down syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by "nondisjunction of chromosomes" during cell division, which usually results in two copies of chromosome 21, but in down syndrome sufferers produce three copies of chromosomes to have 47 chromosomes. A lot of facts and myths about down syndrome as well as a great many pre-service biology teachers are misconceptions about down syndrome. The aim of this study is to measure the level of knowledge of pre-service biology teachers and to shed light on fact and myth down syndrome. Researchers used a descriptive method with a sample study of 30 pre-service biology teachers who were contrasting genetics courses and rigorously chosen with purposive sampling. Data is collected by the study instrument of a questionnaire with 20 questions and sent online using Google form. The result shows that the understanding of pre-service biology's teacher on facts and myth down syndrome with a low category of 3 %, a middle category of 66.7 %, and a high category of 30 %. As for the explanation of fact and myth down syndrome, it is synthesized with several scientific research sources.

Abstract

This study aims to produce an outdoor learning for Senior High School Biological learning. New sources of knowledge for enriching the module were taken from research findings of understory plants grown on ex-bouxite mining lands in Singkep Island that were carried out on December 2019-February 2020. The ecological survey method with purposive sampling technique was used to inventory the diversity of understory plant species after revegetated in 2012, 2014 and 2015. The data of understory plant were identified using an identification guides. The Outdoor Learning module for Senior High School was designed by using the ADDIE model through three three stages, i.e. analyze, design, development. The quality of the Biology learning module’s based on Outdoor Learning is classified as good in terms of the level of validity, format, graphic, scientific illustrations, language as well as the feasibility of the module contents so that could be utilize by the Biology teacher’s for enriching the Biological teaching at Senior High School

Abstract

The 21st century learning, the fourth industrial revolution, curricullum 2013 and the movement of freedom to learn reqruired student to have an independent learning. Therefore it is considered important to have Self Regulated Learning in learning process. This research was conducted in July-September 2021 at Biology Education University of Riau. This research was a descriptive research and used a quantitative approach to analyze Self Regulated Learning in students. This research used a sample of 58 students were selected by stratified random sampling technique. Meanwhile the data collection is done by giving a questionnaire and interview which includes three aspect of Self Regulated Learning: foretought and planning, performance monitoring and reflection on performance. Descriptive analysis and imdependent sample t-tes was utilized in the data analysis of this research. The result of analysis showed that the students of PBUD is better the ability in two phases, foretought and planning and performance monitoring meanwhile the student of SBMPTN better the ability in the reflection on performance. Of all three phases the abilily in performance monitoring in student is still average.

Abstract

Pendidikan konservasi memiliki relevansi untuk diimplementasikan dalam kurikulum pendidika tinggi di Indonesia, hal ini tidak terlepas dari posisi Indonesia yang termasuk dalam jajaran negara megabiodiversity dan memiliki sejumlah hotspot biodiversity. Laju loss biodiversity Indonesia yang sangat tinggi mengharuskan segera mendapatkan penanganan melalui kegiatan konservasi dan membangun kesadaran secara kolektif melalui pendidikan biodiversitas. Pendidikan biodiversitas dapat dilakukan melalui jalur pendidikan formal dan informal. Pada pendidikan formal di Universitas dilakukan melalui mata kuliah seperti Biologi Konservasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan tujuan memperoleh data empirik pengembangan program perkuliahan biologi konservasi. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui instrumen angket, wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumen. Data empirik yang diperoleh melalui kegiatan Preliminary reseach ini kemudian dianalisis dan ditafsirkan sesuai temuan penelitian. Hasil penelitian pendahuluan menemukan bahwa perkuliahan belum mengarahkan pada peningkatan literasi biodiversitas sebagai pondasi literasi konservasi pada mahasiswa. Hasil studi analisis kebutuhan perkuliahan biologi konservasi berbasis CSP memerlukan beberapa perangkat pendukung seperti RPS berbasis CSP, bahan ajar/buku/modul, toolkit, aplikasi OCS, pelatihan kegiatan CSP, pelatihan riset biodiversitas dan pelatihan keterampilan konservasi biodiversitas.
