Abstract

Physical Chemistry Teaching Materials are generally delivered using a one-way learning model, from lecturers to students. This causes student learning activities to be low so that student learning outcomes are not optimal. To maximize learning outcomes it is necessary to improve the quality of learning, by changing learning models into task-based learning. Changing the learning model requires changing the components of teaching materials according to the learning model that has been changed. Teaching material for Physical Chemistry in Chemistry Education Program PMIPA FKIP Sriwijaya University developed contains a collection of task assignments that must be carried out by students, both individuals and groups, in such a way that the series of physical chemistry learning is in the form of a series of work assignments that follow the cycle of independent work tasks, group work and group presentations, and so on. The development of the Physics Chemistry teaching material follows the ADDIE model.

Abstract

This literature review aims to analyze the concepts and ideas of building the character of the students' environment through social science. The background of this study is the occurrence of various damage and deterioration of environmental quality that negatively impact the whole human life. A preventive effort is needed to prevent environmental damage through planned and systematic efforts to build environmental awareness for the community. These efforts can be done through education. Education as an effort to change the paradigm of thinking in the direction of self-discretion. That is, through education awareness of the environment can be realized. In educational units, there are subjects of social science that examine people in a social context. In principle, the environment within the social science context not only addresses the human social environment, but also includes the physical environment, the biotic and abiotic environments that support human life. Through social science is expected learners are expected to build environmental awareness, so that sustainability and environmental balance can be realized.

Abstract

Resolving math problems PISA can assist students in training students' mathematical skills. This aims research to (1) Generate math problems of PISA type work context for valid and practical junior high school students, (2) Knowing the potential effects of mathematics on PISA type of work context on the mathematics ability of junior high school students. The method in this research is research method design research with type development studies consists of two stages namely preliminary or preparation and stage prototiping (formative evaluation) which cover self evaluation, expert reviews and oneto- one, small group, and field test. This research involves 2 mathematicians and students of the class VII SMP Negeri 5 Pangkalpinang. Data collection techniques used are walkthrough, documentation, questionnaires, test results, and interviews. This research produces 10 device type problem PISA context occupation on the material SMP that is valid and practical, as well as having a potential effect on students' mathematical abilities. Kevalidan problem based on expert comments (expert review) and test of empirical validity and reliability test , as well as subject comments one-to-one. On test small group obtained data about practicality problem, and phase field test obtained data on potential effects on students' mathematical abilities that students appear when working on questions. The results of the problem analysis reveal some of the students' difficulties in doing the questions seen from mathematical skills include communication skills, mathematization, representation, reasoning and argumentation, problem-solving strategies, and the ability to use symbolic or language formal.

Abstract

The aim this research is to develop a model salto backward exercise using media tool and to obtain empirical data about the effectiveness of salto backward exercise model using media tool. This a research and development, research consisting of ten steps. These steps are (1) Needs and observation analysis, (2) Information gathering, (3) Preparation of the initial product, (4) Expert evaluation, (5) Revision, (6) Small group test using 10 subjects, (7) Revision ,, (8) Large group trial using 20 subjects, (9) Revision of final product, (10) Dissemination. From the research and procedures performed above, the product is a model of back salto exercise using a media tool that consists of 13 forms of models. The back-to-back salto exercise model using this developed media tool comes from advice or expert input and evaluation, including 2 backward and 1 from sports education. The results obtained the model of backward salto exercise using this tool media is good and can be used athletes. Suggestion this research that this product can be as one way to improve ability and achievement of athlete, and specially trainer that this product can be reference to train athletes.

Abstract

This research aimed to produce learning trajectory in learning Similarity using Origami as the context, trough Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI) approach. The method of this research was design research that consisted of three phases namely preliminary design, design experiment (pilot experiment and teaching experiment) and retrospective analysis. The research was conducted in Sekolah Dasar Negeri 24 Palembang. Data collection was obtained by interviews, observations, video recording, collecting student work, pre-test and post-test. The results of this research showed that Learning Trajectory (LT) which contained a series of learning process using Origami could help students to find the concept of Similarity.

Abstract

The phenomenon of code-switching is an important issue in bilingualism. Many researchers have investigated its value in formal classroom teaching and learning activity. Code-switching in this study refers to the alternation of two languages, English and Indonesians, which happens during a conversation in social media. This study identified types and topics as well as investigated the factors that affect code switching in the online chatroom among 96 bilingual young adults. Cross-sectional survey design was used in this study. The data were collected through review of chats, questionnaire, and interview. Later, the data were analysed by using the statistics. The findings from the study revealed that the alumni of SMAN Sumatera Selatan mostly used intrasentential code- switching (67%), were interested in the topics of social, health, economics, politics, education, and technology, and their primary factor or reason of using code-switching was avoiding misunderstanding (75%). Other noted factors were: being easier to speak in own language (52.5%), not knowing the English words (28.7%), not similar words in L1/L2 (27.5%), filling the stopgap (25%), adding emphasis (25%), conveying intimacy (18.8%), and privacy (18.8%). In addition, the data revealed that the factors and the topics had a significant connection. Finally, codeswitching can be a useful strategy in online interaction if the aim is to maintain solidarity in an efficient way.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the part of learning trajectory supporting the student understanding on learning arithmetic sequence and series using tradisional handycraft songket Palembang with PMRI approach and describe learning students activity proccess of class X in learning mathematics so that can develop informal activity become formal when learning arithmetic sequence and series. The method used in this study is the Design Research that consists of three stages: preliminary, design of experiment (pilot experiments and teaching experiment) and restrospective analysis. The subjects consisted of 29 students of class X. This study resulted in Learning Trajectory (LT), which contains a series of learning process that helps students find the concept of arithmetic sequence and series. At the informal level, students use the context of songket Palembang to find rules of arithmetic sequence and series. In preformal level, students begin composing and drawing motif images of songket as of arithmetic sequences, using pieces of motifs songket as a model of what they consider to be a songket which led to a model for the arithmetic sequences in finding the n and number of first n terms of arithmetic series. While on a formal level the students is able to resolve the problem by using contextual knowledge and their experience at the previous level

Abstract

Along with the age increase, most elder people are lazy to exercise, doing physical activity regularly and periodically will make the cognitive function better . When performing physical activity, the brain will be stimulated to increase the protein in the brain called Brain Derived Neutrophic Factor. BDNF is an important role to keep the nerve cells healthy and fit. The aim for this study is to analyze the influence of programmed physical activity on BDNF serum levels in elderly people at healthy heart palembang clubs. This study is a Cross Sectional research with sample used are elderly people who regularly do programmed physical activity at Club Jatung Sehat Kambang Iwak Palembang Branch. Sample in this Research are the healthy elderly and are over 60 years old, in total of 25 people. Result of analysis of the influence between the level of physical activity with the function of BDNF serum level in elder people was obtained and shows that respondents with regular physical activity have a good level of BDNF serum. The statistical test result obtained shows a significant increase of BDNF levels ( p = 0,014 ) thus can be concluded that there are influence among activity level against BDNF serum levels on elderly.
