Abstract

Gamelan Soepra is a gamelan instrument that has been changed in tonality to diatonic and has a higher wadhah. With its diatonic tonality, Gamelan Soepra is able to be combined with today's modern instruments and it is able to play many song. The uniqueness of the Gamelan Soepra was used by Pater van Deinse as a music education at SMA Kolese Loyola. Gamelan Soepra is a tool for educating thar is combined with reflective pedagogy as an educational method. Reflective pedagogy has several elements, namely: context, experience, reflection, action, and evaluation. This study aims to understand the implementation of the reflective pedagogy elements in the learning process of Gamelan Soepra. The methods used by the author in collecting data were observation, interview, and document study. Gamelan Soepra Learning through reflective pedagogy not only develops students' abilities in playing music (Competence), but students also are trained to hone and develop their conscience (Compassion), conscience and their commitment and responsibility to what they have chosen (Commitment). This s is study expected to be a reference for developing learning methods, especially music learning

Abstract

Guci dance is one of the dance creations from the Guci area in Tegal Regency which had a characteristic in its variety of movements and it was used as a material for the extracurricular art of dance. This study aims to provide an overview of the value of the creative character of the Guci Dance, which was given through the extracurricular activities learning of dance. The study was conducted by using a qualitative analysis research method with the research location at SMP Negeri 2 Bumijawa in Tegal Regency. The instruments and data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and document study. The data validity technique used data triangulation technique. Meanwhile, data analysis and processing techniques were carried out by collecting, reducing, clarifying and verifying data. The results of the cultivation of creative character values through the extracurricular activities learning art of dance focused on 5 aspects, namely thinking in all directions, changing perspectives, generating ideas, stimulating backgrounds and skills in many ways.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the inheritance of the balo-balo art performance and the inheritance of socio-cultural values carried out by the balo-balo art community. The method used is qualitative with ethnomusicology and anthropology approaches. The data collection techniques was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The analysis process consists of data collection, data reduction, and data clarification. The results of the study on the inheritance of the balo-balo art include inheritance of the form of balo-balo art performance which was an effort to keep traditional arts. The inheritance was carried out at the Cahaya Rembulan Musik Studio by doing exercises, preparations, and balo-balo art performance. Balo-balo art poetry is in the form of wangsalan (poem) which contains of advice about God Almighty. The inheritance of socio-cultural values contain religious values which these values are contained in the lyrics and educational values that are inherited through training in balo-balo art which are expected to introduce traditional arts, especially balo-balo art to the Tegal City community.

Abstract

Terbang Papat is a typical traditional art from Kudus, the name of Terbang Papat was taken from the instruments of Terbang in the amount of four and used one Jidor. The art of Terbang Papat, now is starting to fade because it has been replaced by the times. This study aims to provide a preservation overview of the Terbang Papat art form in Kudus. The study was conducted by using a qualitative analysis research method with the research location in the Kedungdowo Kaliwungu village, Kudus Regency. The data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and document study. The data validity technique used data triangulation technique. Meanwhile, data analysis and processing techniques were carried out by collecting, reducing, clarifying and verifying data. The result of preserving the Terbang Papat music is from musical elements namely the time element and the characteristics of the accompanying instruments.

Abstract

Wayang klitik is one of the traditional performances that are sacred as a means of bersih sendang ceremonial which is still sustainable today in Wonosoco Village, Undaan District, Kudus Regency. The purpose of this research is to examine the form of puppets and their functions in the bersih sendang ceremony. This study uses qualitative methods with interview data collection techniques, observation and document study. The data validity technique is based on credibility criteria, using data triangulation . Analysis of data is done through data collection, data reduction , data presentation, and data verification. The results of the study, regarding the shape of the wayang klitik made of flat wood formed according to the puppet character, carved and colored with simple decorative techniques, the puppet groups can be distinguished from face color , face shape , accessories, and body position. Wayang klitik in the bersih sendang ceremony has three functions, they are a personal function, a social function and a practical physical function. Personal function as a form of expression wayang klitik maker from realize his idea, social function as a means of rituals in the bersih sendang ceremony, entertainment exciting, educational media to the public, means of communication to God and dhanyang village, and physical function wayang klitik as props/puppets that portray the characters in the story that are playing.

Abstract

This study aims to identify, reveal, analyze and describe adaptation of Andy Irawan Music's efforts to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic in the wedding music industry. The author uses an interdisciplinary approach, by borrowing theories and concepts from the disciplines of musicology, sociology, and economics. The object in this study is industry and adaptation, with the subject Andy Irawan Music. The research design uses an interpretive case study located in Semarang. The data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that Andy Irawan Music could adapt during the Covid-19 pandemic. Adaptation efforts made by Andy Irawan Music include appearing with new formations, optimizing the use of social media/ digital platforms, applying virtual music, following recommended health protocols, participating in wedding showcases, and creating Andy Irawan Disciples.

Abstract

Ki Hadjar Dewantara is a nationalist figure who express his thoughts in education field. Many of his thoughts reflect the existence of a humanist perspective that assume humans as important subjects. This study aims to analyze the humanistic values found in the art of learning at SMP Taman Adults Jetis, Yogyakarta. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The data analysis uses data reduction procedures, data presentation, and drawing conclusions (verification). The validity of the data used was a triangulation technique which included triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed that there were humanistic values in the art of learning which included the following values: (1) solidarity; (2) tolerance; (3) freedom; (4) respect and love, and (5) justice and equality. Based on the results of the research, the researcher can provide suggestions as a material for consideration, so that SMP Taman Dewasa Jetis continued to improve discipline in implementing Ki Hadjar Dewantara's thought-based education, improve work skills for art teachers and students as well as develop teaching materials, methods, and media used.

Abstract

Abstract Pyramid House in Palembang is one of the works of art that is still very interesting to be researched today. The problem raised in this study aims to analyze the cultural message of the Pyramid House in Palembang. The method used is a qualitative method with a case study research design. The data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and document study. The results showed that in the manufacture of the Pyramid house, the main construction of traditional buildings used wood construction and a stilt system. The foundation used the construction of piles, the walls used boards, the roof used a leaf or shingle roof. The core parts consisted of the roof of the house, the door, the window, the stairs, and the floor of the house. In general, the typical architectural form of the Pyramid House, namely, the roof was shaped like a severed pyramid. Besides, the uniqueness of the house located in its multi-storey shape (kijing) and the walls were made of wood shaped like planks. Then related to the house name Pyramid, it contained two special meanings, namely, Five and Gold. The word five means the number five, while gold means the precious metal of great value. This is also a symbol of the function of the Pyramid house.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the educational values applied through the process of cultural antagonism to the "Svara Jiva" song of the Riau Rhythm group. This study used a qualitative method with an interdisciplinary approach to sociology and education. The data were collected by using observation, interview and document study techniques. The data analysis procedures used data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The validity of the data used is triangulation, data sources and theory. The results showed that in the "Svara Jiva" song there was a cultural antagonistic process, namely a form of conflict within a creative individual with the culture, it caused a new form of cultural product. In the process of cultural antagonism, several educational values were implemented. The educational values included; 1) Religious Values; (2) Pluralist Value; (3) Historical Value; (4) Value of Responsibility; (5) Value of Responsibility. The results of this study can be used as a reference regarding the study of educational values.

Abstract

The aims of this study is to explain and reveal how Grisness Culture musical works can compete in the music industry and its implications in arts education. This study uses an interdisciplinary approach with qualitative analytical methods. The research design used a case study and the focus of the research was on the ska music of the Grisness Culture group. The data collection techniques used were observation, interview, and documentation study. The data validation used triangulation techniques with data analysis techniques by using interactive models. The results of this study are Grisness Culture was able to compete in the music industry with the capital they have, namely economic, cultural, social, and symbolic capital as well as marketing activities, namely the production of works, promotion, and distribution. Second, the activities carried out during the work to marketing process lead to artistic experiences through art activities, namely appreciation, creation and expression that can create arts education in a broader context in the music industry and have implications in the form of character values.
