Abstract

Processing raw materials into a product with higher  value added is a positive endeavor, to provide higher benefits for the welfare of society. Seaweed as one of the mainstay commodities in the West Nusa Tenggara region will provide high benefits if it is successfully processed into products with a higher selling value than if it is sold as a ra product. This study aims to determine the  value added  of processed food products made from seaweed, namely seaweed rengginang,  seaweed kripik and seaweed crackers which are processed by the "ARES" Business Group in Karangbaru Village, Mataram City. The research method is descriptive, and value added analysis is based on the Hayami Method. From the calculated of value added , it turns out that the value added of seaweed kripik produces the highest value added, which is Rp. 111,400,- per kilogram of processed seaweed, then the  value added of seaweed crackers is Rp. 98.000, - and the added value of seaweed rengginang  is Rp. 78,050,- Furthermore, it is suggested to the “ARES” Business Group if the demand for seaweed kripik is relatively good, the production of seaweed kripik needs to be increased in capacity in the future, and the “ARES” Business Group to continue to be creative in making products made from seaweed to be processed into superior products, as an effort to increase the  value added of raw materials into products with higher value added

Abstract

Micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) activities are the real sector that produces products (goods and services), which will directly drive the economic wheels of society in a region. This sector requires support from the active role of the financial services industry, namely banking services. A study on the role of BPRs in improving MSME activities was carried out in the Bank Indonesia Mataram working area, in West Nusa Tenggara Province, in the form of a literature review of related published data. From the results of the study, the value of credit for MSMEs distributed by the banking industry in the West Nusa Tenggara Province region, until the end of 2022, amounts to IDR. 19.474431 trillion consisting of working capital credit amounting to Rp. 16.548945 trillion and investment credit Rp. 2.925486 trillion . Of all the MSME loans disbursed, Rural Banks on average only distributed 7.36 percent of the MSME loans disbursed. This credit was distributed by 28 BPR units in the West Nusa Tenggara region, consisting of 115 service offices spread throughout the West Nusa Tenggara region. Seeing that BPR's role in channeling MSME credit is still relatively small, this means that BPR must continue to strengthen its position, to increase its role as a microfinance institution that can support micro, small and medium enterprises in the West Nusa Tenggara Province region.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the influence of the menyabraya culture on the performance of Balinese MSMEs in Mataram City, Lombok. Using quantitative methods, this research involved 100 respondents selected from a population of 1,365 business actors, based on the Slovin formula. There is a research gap that indicates a lack of empirical studies on the contribution of local culture to economic performance, especially in the context of migration. The novelty of this research lies in the emphasis on a culture of equality as a key variable that can strengthen social networks and collaboration among MSME players. The results of analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) software based on Partial Least Square (PLS) show that a culture of equality has a positive and significant influence on the performance of MSMEs. This conclusion indicates that the values of solidarity and cooperation in this culture are able to encourage increased productivity and innovation among business actors. The contribution of this research provides valuable insight for MSME actors and policy makers in designing empowerment strategies based on local cultural values, so as to increase the competitiveness and economic welfare of the Balinese community in Mataram.
