This study aims to examine the paperless campus policy within the perspective of Total Quality Management (TQM) in higher education. The research focuses on how document digitalization and administrative services can enhance efficiency, transparency, student satisfaction, and support environmental sustainability agendas. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, using interviews, observations, and document studies, with data analyzed through Miles & Huberman’s interactive model. The findings reveal that the paperless policy accelerates bureaucracy, strengthens accountability, improves student satisfaction, supports the principle of continuous improvement in TQM, and enhances the image and competitiveness of universities in the digital era. Therefore, paperless can be considered a comprehensive strategy that integrates administrative efficiency, sustainable quality culture, and commitment to environmental sustainability.

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in managing facilities and infrastructure at MTs Al Kautsar Tenggarong. The background of this research stems from the initial condition of the madrasah, which was located on Jl. Danau Aji with limited land, resulting in the absence of a schoolyard and the inability to conduct flag ceremonies. Through the dedication of the former principal, the late Drs. H. Fahruddin, the madrasah was able to purchase new land, build a schoolyard, and provide dormitories for students coming from distant villages. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles & Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the modernization of facilities and infrastructure has significantly impacted teaching and learning activities, character development, and inclusive access to education. An interview with the current principal, Mrs. Miftahul Jannah, S.Pd., emphasized that TQM-based management of facilities must be continuously evaluated and improved to meet contemporary demands. Stakeholder support also plays a crucial role in sustaining quality improvement. Therefore, the application of TQM has proven effective in enhancing the quality of Islamic education in alignment with societal needs.

This study aims to measure the level of student satisfaction with educational services at Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Al-Quds Samarinda using a survey method with Likert Scale analysis. Student satisfaction is considered an important indicator in evaluating the quality of educational services, which include aspects of teaching, facilities, administration, and staff services. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach involving 30 randomly selected students from different educational levels. The research instrument was a closed questionnaire consisting of nine indicators: teaching quality, teachers’ ability to explain material, opportunities for discussion, quality of learning materials, main facilities, supporting facilities, administrative services, academic information, and staff friendliness. Data were analyzed using Likert scoring techniques and mean calculations for each indicator. The findings indicate that overall student satisfaction is in the “good” category. The highest score was found in staff friendliness (mean = 4.4), while aspects requiring improvement include supporting facilities (3.6), main facilities (3.8), opportunities for discussion (3.9), and academic information (3.9). These results show that the quality of educational services at Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Al-Quds Samarinda has generally been well implemented, although continuous improvements are needed, particularly in infrastructure, academic communication, and student participation in the learning process to achieve optimal satisfaction.

Planning and development of educational institutions are crucial aspects in improving the quality and sustainability of education delivery. This article aims to analyze the planning and development of educational institutions at the Al Quds Islamic Elementary School Foundation in Samarinda, as one of the Islamic educational institutions oriented toward shaping an excellent generation in the fields of the Qur’an, knowledge, and character. The study employs a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were obtained from various sources such as books, scientific journals, theses, official foundation documents, and literature relevant to the management and development of Islamic educational institutions. The findings show that the Al Quds Islamic Elementary School Foundation has implemented educational planning through the formulation of vision and mission, development of an integrated curriculum, organization of the Qur’an memorization (tahfidz) program, management of human resources, and provision of facilities and infrastructure that support the learning process. Institutional development is carried out through improving the quality of educational programs, strengthening Islamic school culture, and enhancing teacher competencies. The tahfidz program has become one of the main strengths that reinforces the school’s identity as an Islamic institution oriented toward character building and strengthening students’ religious values. The analysis also indicates that SD Islam Al Quds Samarinda possesses strengths in its clear vision, strong foundation support, Qur’an-based educational programs, and high public trust. Nevertheless, the institution still faces several challenges, including improving the quality of human resources, optimizing the use of educational technology, strengthening the quality assurance system, and enhancing partnerships with parents and the community. Therefore, continuous innovation and development are required so that the institution can maintain educational quality while increasing competitiveness amid the dynamic development of the educational world. Thus, the success of the Al Quds Islamic Elementary School Foundation’s development greatly depends on its ability to integrate Islamic values, manage education professionally, and adapt to advances in science and technology. These steps are key to realizing an Islamic educational institution that is excellent, high-quality, and sustainable.

This study aims to analyze transactional education as an interaction model between teachers and students from both pedagogical and juridical perspectives. Transactional education is understood as a reciprocal communication process that emphasizes active participation from both parties. The research method employed a qualitative approach with a case study in secondary schools, using observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that transactional education fosters a democratic learning atmosphere, enhances student motivation, and strengthens teacher-student relationships. Nevertheless, its implementation faces challenges such as differences in student characteristics and power dynamics within the classroom. From a juridical standpoint, transactional education has clear legal legitimacy through Law No. 20 of 2003 on the National Education System and Law No. 14 of 2005 on Teachers and Lecturers. These regulations affirm students’ rights to actively participate and teachers’ obligations to conduct professional and ethical teaching. Therefore, transactional education can be regarded as an interaction model that is pedagogically relevant and legally valid.
