Abstract

The development of digital technology has facilitated students in accessing religious information through social media and the internet; however, not all of this information contains values of religious moderation, thus potentially influencing students’ understanding. In addition, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning also faces individual problems such as low learning motivation, difficulties in understanding the material, and the suboptimal practice of religious values. This study aims to examine the dynamics of students’ individual problems and the strategies to address them in PAI learning. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach conducted at SDN 06 Jayapura, with PAI teachers as the main informants. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis uses an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity tested through source and method triangulation. The results show that students’ problems include difficulties in understanding the material, low learning motivation, and lack of implementation of religious values, which are caused by internal factors such as ability and psychological conditions, as well as external factors such as family, environment, and technology. The strategies implemented by teachers include an individual approach, the use of varied teaching methods, providing motivation, guidance, and collaboration with parents, with constraints including limited time, a large number of students, and diverse student characteristics. In conclusion, students’ individual problems in PAI learning are complex and require holistic handling through adaptive learning strategies and support from various parties to achieve optimal learning objectives.

Abstract

The development of digital technology, particularly social media, has made it easier for students to access religious information, but it has also posed challenges in the form of the dissemination of information that does not always align with moral values and religious moderation. In this context, Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers play a crucial role in guiding students to properly understand and internalize these values in the digital age. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The study was conducted at SMAS Dwimas Sejati, with PAI teachers as the primary informants and students as supporting informants. Data collection techniques included interviews and documentation, while data analysis utilized an interactive model encompassing data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, with data validity ensured through triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the role of PAI teachers in internalizing moral values is carried out through setting a good example and fostering habits; the role of teachers in instilling religious moderation is achieved by cultivating attitudes of tolerance and respect for differences; the strategies employed include linking course material to the realities of social media and providing continuous guidance; supporting factors stem from the active role of teachers and the school environment, while the main inhibiting factors and challenges are the strong influence of social media on students’ behavior and mindset. This study concludes that Islamic Education teachers play a strategic role in instilling moral values and religious moderation, but their success is greatly influenced by environmental support and students’ ability to use social media wisely.

Abstract

The development of learning, which is still dominated by conventional methods, has resulted in low student interest and focus in Islamic Religious Education (ISE). This situation demands innovations in more interactive and student-centered learning, one of which is the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, which emphasizes problem-solving as the core of learning. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach at SMKN 1 Tambang, with Islamic Religious Education (ISE) teachers, the principal, and students as subjects. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were then analyzed using an interactive analysis model through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with validity tested through triangulation of sources and methods. The results of the study indicate that: the implementation of the PBL model in ISE learning has been quite successful through the stages of problem-posing, discussion, and presentation, thus increasing student engagement. The application of PBL has been able to increase student interest in learning, as indicated by increased enthusiasm and engagement in learning. The PBL model also improves student focus because they are directly involved in the learning process. Challenges encountered include time constraints, differences in student readiness, and a lack of student engagement in understanding the problems. Overall, the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model is effective in increasing student interest and focus in learning, although it still requires optimal management for optimal implementation.

Abstract

Instructional media play a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of learning, particularly in the subject of Islamic Religious Education (IRE). However, the use of instructional media in elementary schools remains suboptimal, which impacts students’ understanding. This study aims to analyze the role of instructional media in improving students’ understanding of the IRE subject at SDN 03 Banjar Seminai. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of PAI teachers, students, and the school principal. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using an interactive model comprising data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, and were validated through source and method triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the use of learning media has been implemented, although it is still limited to simple media. Learning media plays a role in improving students’ understanding by increasing their interest and active participation in learning. Additionally, there are supporting and inhibiting factors: the availability of media and teachers’ willingness serve as supports, while limitations in facilities, time, and skills act as inhibitors. Overall, learning media plays a crucial role in enhancing students’ understanding; therefore, the development of media and the improvement of teachers’ competencies are necessary to optimize the learning process.
