Abstract

Abstract

Electric Rail Trains (KRL) have become the most frequently used transportation mode for daily activities in the community. One of the existing problems within the operation system of Electric Rail Trains (KRL) lies in the current rectification process. During this rectification process, an effect occurs that can cause disturbances in the KRL's electrical system. This resulting effect is the harmonic effect. This study aims to address the problem of power quality degradation in the Electric Rail Train (KRL) at the Citayam Station Traction Substation, which is caused by this harmonic effect. The harmonic effect arises from the process of rectifying alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC) using a silicon rectifier, which can lead to voltage drop, speed reduction, or even the operational stoppage of the KRL.The research method used is quantitative descriptive. The study did not conduct direct measurements but instead used averaged assumption data from three related journals as primary data. The data analyzed were the values of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) for both current and voltage, particularly focusing on the 5th, 7th, and 11th harmonic orders, which were identified as the highest contributors to the harmonic distortion. To mitigate the harmonics, this study designed a single-tuned passive filter using the ETAP (Electric Transient Analysis Program) software. The design aims to suppress the harmonic distortion, thereby improving the electrical power quality, maintaining the reliability of the traction substation, and optimizing KRL operations. The single-tuned passive filter designed in this research was capable of suppressing harmonics by up to 0.009%.

Abstract

Efficient water management is essential for sustaining agricultural productivity, particularly in regions supported by technical irrigation systems such as the Way Bungur Irrigation Area in Pringsewu Regency, Indonesia. Although water availability in this region is generally adequate, its utilization remains inefficient due to cropping schedules that are not aligned with seasonal hydrological conditions, especially during the dry season. This study evaluates irrigation water requirements based on crop types and the official Cropping Pattern Plan (SK RTT), and compares them with water availability estimated using the F.J. Mock hydrological model. Input data include rainfall records, climatological parameters, river discharge, and field measurements. Crop water requirements were calculated using the FAO Penman–Monteith method, while water availability was assessed through dependable flow analysis. Results indicate that water availability in the Way Bungur watershed generally exceeds irrigation demand across three cropping seasons. However, temporal mismatches between planting schedules and water surplus or deficit periods lead to suboptimal water use. These findings highlight the importance of integrating annual water balance analysis into cropping pattern planning to enhance allocation efficiency, reduce risk, and promote sustainable agricultural development.

Abstract

Coal distribution at PT Bukit Asam uses railway transportation. This is considered quite efficient given the capability of trains to carry both passengers and goods in large quantities in a single trip, making it very efficient for mass transportation and logistics distribution over medium to long distances. However, in terms of advantages, trains on a single track face limitations in distance, load, and traffic capacity. Planning a Double Track route offers advantages in addressing issues related to load and traffic capacity. This study aims to find solutions regarding the traffic load on a track by adding a railway line (Double Track) without changing the existing track. The railway route planning is designed based on factors of comfort, safety, security, economy, and environment. The Vertical Alignment planning includes 2 curves with a planned radius of 7000 m and a gradient value of 6.6‰. The material requirements for the planned railway structure consist of R60 Rails (497 units), Double Elastic Fasteners (41,400 units), Concrete Sleepers (10,350 units), Ballast Volume (7,173 ), Ballast Volume (15,897 ), Cut Volume (567,743 ), and Fill Volume (205,269 )
