Abstract

Cardiovascular disease remains a major public health challenge worldwide, often progressing silently toward chronic complications. Increasing awareness through media and individual behavioral responses plays an important role in preventing disease transmission and reducing long-term complications. Motivated by this, we formulate a deterministic compartmental model to investigate the dynamics of cardiovascular disease by incorporating media awareness and individual awareness as control-related parameters. The population is divided into susceptible, exposed, infected, chronic, recovered, and deceased compartments. A qualitative analysis of the linear dynamical system is carried out, including positivity of solutions, bound- edness, equilibrium points, and local stability analysis using eigenvalue criteria. Numerical simulations are performed to illustrate the effects of key epidemiological and awareness-related parameters on disease progression. The simulation results indicate that increased media and individual awareness significantly reduce the long-term burden of chronic cardiovascular complications. In contrast, higher incidence and disease progression rates lead to increased accumulation in the chronic compartment, even when the number of active infections declines more rapidly. Sensitivity analysis confirms that awareness parameters have a negative influ- ence on chronic disease prevalence, whereas core epidemiological parameters exert a strong positive effect. These findings highlight the critical role of awareness-based interventions in mitigating chronic cardiovascular disease and provide a quantitative framework to support effective prevention and control strategies.

Abstract

The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu'ti, emphasized the new policy direction for the development of Vocational High School (SMK) education. The Minister explained that future SMK graduates are expected to have not only diplomas, but also skills certificates that support their competitiveness and readiness in the world of work. The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) is collaborating with the Ministry of Manpower to establish Vocational Training Centers (BLK). The Community BLK Program is a government effort to increase the distribution of job training institutions. Higher Education Institutions (PT) in Indonesia are also given certain authorities to provide and organize study programs at various levels (diploma, bachelor's, master's, doctoral, specialist profession) according to the capabilities of each PT and industry needs. The ITESA Muhammadiyah Semarang team of community service lecturers will bridge the competency clustering in SMK with the clustering of human resource needs in the industry.

Abstract

The dynamic development of socio-economic conditions, accompanied by increasing household needs and income uncertainty, requires communities to possess sound and sustainable financial management capabilities. Women, particularly housewives and micro-enterprise actors, play a strategic role in managing household and business finances. However, limited understanding of financial planning, investment, and insurance remains a major challenge that may increase vulnerability to financial risks. One strategic measure to strengthen household economic resilience is the enhancement of financial literacy through targeted and contextual education, especially regarding the introduction of investment and insurance as instruments for financial planning and risk protection. This community service program aims to improve women’s financial literacy through educational activities focusing on the basic principles of investment and insurance, as well as their application in the context of entrepreneurship and household financial management. The target participants are members of the PKK Women’s Group in Sidawung Hamlet, Kali Gading Village, Boja Subdistrict, Kendal Regency. The implementation methods include interactive lectures, simple demonstrations, discussions based on local case studies, and evaluation through pre–post tests. Indicators of program success include improvements in participants’ financial literacy scores, enhanced understanding of investment and insurance concepts, and increased motivation to adopt regular saving habits, maintain business financial records, and consider appropriate simple investment instruments and insurance products. The expected outcomes of this program are improved basic financial literacy knowledge and skills, as well as the development of follow-up action plans by the PKK group related to financial management and risk protection for family-based enterprises.

Abstract

Strengthening the institutional capacity of labor unions has become an urgent need in facing increasingly complex labor dynamics. The Regional Leadership Board of the National Workers Union Federation (DPD FKSPN) of Semarang Regency, as a workers’ advocacy platform, requires a sustainable organizational development strategy to optimize its role. This community service program aims to enhance leadership capacity, improve administrative and financial management systems, and expand organizational partnerships. The implementation method consisted of three stages: preparation, implementation, and reporting. The preparation stage included needs identification and coordination with partners; the implementation stage involved leadership training, administrative and financial mentoring, and facilitation of strategic networking; while the reporting stage consisted of preparing a final report and providing strategic recommendations. The results showed significant improvements in administrative skills, financial transparency, and participant engagement, with 85% of participants reporting high satisfaction with the program. In conclusion, strategic mentoring has proven effective in strengthening the institutional capacity of DPD FKSPN and supporting the sustainability of its role as a workers’ advocacy organization.
