Abstract

Edu-ecotourism in the context of science learning is an educational approach that integrates the concept of ecotourism into the learning process, which offers an effective way to teach science material contextually, experience-based, and relevant to everyday life and can instill an attitude of caring for the environment around students, so that learning becomes more enjoyable and meaningful. However, the fact in the field is that there are still many schools that have not been able to implement edu-ecotourism-based science learning due to various obstacles including the availability of edu-ecotourism-based teaching materials and the lack of teacher knowledge about edu-ecotourism. From previous research, researchers have developed ecotourism/ethnoscience-based science teaching materials that connect community knowledge of the cultural products of the Sasak, Samawa and Mbojo tribes with chemistry or science materials, but have not been widely implemented in schools. Based on the role of edu-ecotourism in the context of science learning in schools is very important, the implementation of ecotourism-based science teaching materials is necessary. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of ecotourism-based science teaching materials at SMPN East Lombok Regency. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to describe the existing phenomena in depth regarding the implementation of ecotourism-based science teaching materials at SMPN East Lombok Regency, including the obstacles faced by teachers and students, as well as the learning experiences of students obtained after the learning. The research instrument was the research team with the help of questionnaires, observation sheets and interview guidelines. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and qualitative data were analyzed using an interactive model. The implementation of ecotourism-based science teaching materials went very well and was received positively by the majority of teachers. A total of 45 teachers actively tried to use at least two of the five teaching materials socialized in their classroom learning. The results of in-depth interviews with 15 teachers stated that the teaching materials used helped them bridge the gap between the theory in textbooks and the reality that exists in the students' environment. Teachers felt that abstract science concepts became easier for students to understand when they saw their direct application in their culture and local wisdom.

Abstract

Learning for children with special needs requires instructional approaches that can accommodate the diversity of students’ characteristics, potentials, and learning needs. One relevant approach is strength-based individual learning, which is designed by building on students’ potentials and strengths. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of strength-based individual learning as a strategy to enhance the engagement and independence of children with special needs at SLB Negeri Sumenep. This research employed a qualitative approach using Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of three students with special needs who had different types of learning barriers. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out qualitatively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of strength-based individual learning significantly increased students’ learning engagement, as indicated by improvements in attention, active participation, and emotional involvement during the learning process. In addition, students’ learning independence also improved, as evidenced by reduced dependence on teacher assistance and increased ability to complete tasks independently. These findings indicate that strength-based individual learning is an effective and applicable strategy for improving the quality of education for children with special needs in special schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan E-Modul berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan pendekatan kearifan lokal untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan literasi digital peserta didik SMA. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan model 4D (define, design, development, disseminate) melalui analisis kebutuhan, perancangan produk, validasi ahli, revisi, serta uji coba lapangan. Validasi dilakukan oleh enam validator dan dianalisis menggunakan Aiken's V. Hasil validasi menunjukkan E-Modul memperoleh 0,92 (92%) dengan kategori sangat valid, Modul Ajar 0,94 (94%), instrumen berpikir kritis 0,93 (93%), dan instrumen literasi digital 0,94 (94%). Kepraktisan diuji pada uji coba terbatas yang melibatkan 25 peserta didik melalui observasi keterlaksanaan, respon pendidik, dan respon peserta didik. Keterlaksanaan pembelajaran mencapai rata-rata 0,92 (92%) kategori terlaksana sangat baik; respon pendidik 0,93 (93%) dan respon peserta didik 0,87 (87%) keduanya berkategori sangat praktis. Keefektifan diuji pada uji coba skala luas dengan 50 peserta didik (28 kelas eksperimen dan 30 kelas kontrol). Analisis N-gain menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada kelas eksperimen 0,636 dan kontrol 0,035, sedangkan literasi digital pada kelas eksperimen 0,606 dan kontrol 0,038. Uji t mandiri menghasilkan signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05, sehingga terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelas. Dengan demikian, produk dinyatakan sangat valid, praktis, dan efektif.
