Abstract

Limited classroom availability at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Alor requires the vocational skills program to be conducted in two shifts, reducing instructional time from 45 minutes to 25 minutes per lesson hour. This condition calls for a flexible learning model so that theoretical reinforcement, practical demonstrations, assignments, and evaluation do not rely solely on face-to-face meetings. This study aimed to analyze the existing vocational skills learning model, develop a subject-based website-supported blended learning model, and examine the feasibility of the developed model. The study employed a research and development method using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects included vocational skills teachers, students, media experts, material experts, and learning practitioners. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, expert validation, practitioner validation, and student response questionnaires. The data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques with feasibility percentages. The findings showed that the subject-based website-supported blended learning model was categorized as highly feasible, with media expert validation at 89%, material expert validation at 91%, practitioner validation at 88.5%, and student responses at 88.4%. These findings indicate that the developed model is feasible as an alternative strategy for expanding learning access and supporting vocational skills learning in madrasahs with limited educational facilities.

Abstract

Abstract

The rapid growth of the creative industry and the ongoing digital transformation have significantly reshaped the characteristics of the labor market, particularly within the animation sector. These changes require graduates of Vocational High Schools (SMKs), especially those majoring in Animation, to possess not only strong technical competencies but also the adaptability needed to respond to the dynamic demands of the industry. This article aims to analyze the characteristics of the labor market and their implications for the employment opportunities of Vocational High School graduates in the Animation program through a literature review approach. The data sources consisted of scholarly articles, research reports, and other relevant literature addressing vocational education, employability, the creative industry, and animation competencies. The findings indicate that employment opportunities for Animation graduates are influenced by five major characteristics of the contemporary labor market: industrial digitalization, the increasing demand for multidisciplinary competencies, the predominance of project-based work, the growing importance of employability skills, and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technologies. The review further reveals that graduates who demonstrate a combination of technical expertise, creativity, communication, collaboration, and adaptability are more likely to secure employment in the industry. Therefore, strengthening industry-oriented curricula, expanding work-based learning opportunities, and fostering twenty-first-century competencies are essential strategies to enhance the competitiveness of Vocational High School Animation graduates in the evolving labor market.

Abstract

Vocational education faces a fundamental challenge in bridging the gap between graduates' competencies and labor market demands. One of the key approaches developed to address this issue is the implementation of the link and match policy through curriculum alignment between vocational schools and industry. This study aims to analyze the implementation of a link and match-based curriculum alignment between Muhammadiyah Kramat Vocational High School and PT Astra Honda Motor through the Astra Honda Authorized Service Station (AHASS) network. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected from school documents, student records, and industry partnership documentation. The research participants included 197 eleventh-grade students, 150 twelfth-grade students, and AHASS industry partners serving as sites for industrial internships and industry-based learning. The findings indicate that curriculum alignment was implemented through competency synchronization, industrial work-based learning, the adoption of the Teaching Factory learning model, competency certification programs, and graduate placement initiatives. This partnership model enhances the relevance of vocational education by providing authentic workplace experiences, improving students' work readiness, and expanding employment opportunities within the two-wheeler automotive industry. The findings further demonstrate that sustained collaboration between vocational schools and industry constitutes a strategic approach to improving the quality and relevance of vocational education.

Abstract

The gap between vocational high school or Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) curricula and the complex workflow demands of the 3D animation industry spanning Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production stages remains a significant challenge in vocational education within the Animation concentration in Indonesia. This article aims to map the readiness of SMKs in implementing 3D animation industry workflow standards into classroom learning, examined through three aspects: Human Resource (HR) readiness, infrastructure readiness, and curriculum readiness. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach using a library research method, thematically analyzing findings from recent national and international scholarly publications, primarily published between 2020 and 2025, supplemented by selected foundational literature. The findings indicate that HR readiness is constrained by uneven teacher competency specialization and limited coverage of national competency certification; infrastructure readiness faces a budgetary dilemma between high-specification rendering hardware and the choice between commercial and open-source software; while curriculum readiness shows considerable potential through Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and cross-divisional Teaching Factory (TeFa) approaches, although implementation remains partial and has yet to fully replicate the collaborative work scheme of professional studios. This study concludes that SMK readiness for the 3D animation industry workflow is at a transitional stage, requiring strengthened HR certification, a phased infrastructure investment roadmap, and reinforced cross-divisional collaborative work schemes through partnerships with the business and industry sector or Dunia Usaha dan Dunia Industri (DUDI).
