Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat internasional ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih terbatasnya pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar mengenai produk pangan sehat bernilai tambah dan cara sederhana untuk mengenalkan produk kepada orang lain. Kegiatan ini bertujuan menumbuhkan literasi pemasaran awal, kesadaran produk sehat, dan minat kewirausahaan siswa sekolah dasar melalui sosialisasi bawang hitam sebagai pangan fungsional bernilai tambah. Program dilaksanakan di Kampung Bandan, Malaysia, melalui kolaborasi dengan Pimpinan Cabang Istimewa 'Aisyiyah (PCIA) Malaysia dan melibatkan 16 siswa sekolah dasar sebagai peserta utama. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan edukatif-partisipatif yang meliputi koordinasi dengan mitra, pre-test, penyampaian materi melalui presentasi sederhana dan video edukasi, pengenalan sampel bawang hitam, sosialisasi bauran pemasaran 4P, evaluasi sensori, dan post-test. Literasi pemasaran dalam kegiatan ini diperkenalkan secara sederhana melalui pembelajaran tentang kualitas produk, kemasan, harga, tempat penjualan, dan promosi yang disesuaikan dengan tingkat pemahaman peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta setelah mengikuti sosialisasi. Peserta lebih mampu mengenali manfaat bawang hitam, menjelaskan pentingnya kemasan yang bersih, memahami logika harga secara sederhana, serta menyampaikan manfaat produk kepada keluarga atau teman. Hasil evaluasi pre-test dan post-test juga menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman yang signifikan. Secara umum, kegiatan ini memberikan manfaat edukatif bagi peserta dan mitra karena mampu menggabungkan literasi kesehatan, literasi produk, dan literasi pemasaran dasar dalam pembelajaran yang kontekstual bagi siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Grape cultivation training and workshops were conducted as part of the implementation of the campus impact program to increase student competency and interest in the agricultural sector, particularly grape cultivation in urban and suburban areas. This activity was a collaboration between the Faculty of Agriculture, Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta and the Indonesian Grape Activists Association, involving students from the Agribusiness Study Program as participants. Methods included material delivery, discussions, field practice, and evaluation using pre-tests and post-tests. Materials provided covered prospects for grape development in Indonesia, seedling propagation techniques through grafting, making planting media, introducing superior varieties, and plant pruning techniques. Effectiveness of training was analyzed using a paired sample t-test to measure changes in participants' level of understanding and interest before and after training. Results showed an increase in participants' knowledge and skills related to grape cultivation techniques. In addition, results of the paired sample t-test showed a significant increase in interest after training (t = -4.885; p < 0.001). Enthusiasm of participants contributed to program's success in increasing understanding and interest in grape cultivation. Thus, training has proven effective in increasing student capacity and encouraging growing interest of younger generation to be involved in development of horticultural agriculture.

Abstract

Edamame is a high-value vegetable soybean commodity with promising export prospects. Sustainable cultivation practices are needed to support its production, including the use of environmentally friendly organic fertilizers. One alternative is liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) derived from cherry leaves, which contain essential nutrients and bioactive compounds beneficial for plant growth. This study evaluated effects of different doses of LOF for growth and yield of edamame. Experiment was conducted from March to May 2025 at Faculty of Agriculture experimental field. A Randomized Complete Block Design with five treatments, five replications was applied. Treatments consisted of an inorganic fertilizer control and cherry leaf LOF at doses of 20, 40, 60, and 80 mL/plant. Observed variables included plant height, branches, flowering, number of pods, and pod weight. Data were subjected to analysis of variance at a 5% significance level. Results indicated that different LOF doses did not significantly affect any observed growth or yield parameters. Nevertheless, LOF doses of 40 mL/plant consistently produced highest values for plant height, branch number, flowering earliness, pod number, and pod weight. These results show cherry leaf LOF may serve as a promising organic fertilizer alternative, although further studies are required to optimize its application and effectiveness.
