Abstract

This study examines how post-pandemic social resilience is constructed across international and national policy frameworks using a qualitative interpretive review. Drawing on policy documents and scholarly analyses published between 2020 and 2025, the research applies comparative discourse analysis to identify how resilience is defined, institutionalized, and translated into governance priorities. The findings show that international frameworks frame resilience as systemic transformation linking sustainability, social equity, and institutional learning, whereas national policies tend to operationalize it as administrative stabilization focused on economic recovery and service continuity. The analysis further reveals that policy effectiveness depends on the interaction between governance instruments, social infrastructures, and organizational adaptability, with fragmented approaches often reinforcing existing inequalities. By conceptualizing resilience as a relational governance discourse rather than a measurable endpoint, the study contributes to social development theory and demonstrates the analytical value of policy narrative comparison for understanding post-crisis transformation. The article offers methodological insight for qualitative policy research and highlights the importance of integrated welfare, digital governance, and psychosocial support in shaping inclusive recovery trajectories across diverse institutional contexts and future crisis preparedness agendas globally.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between social media penetration and voter turnout in Southeast Asia using a multi-country comparative design based on publicly available survey data. Drawing on cross-national evidence, the analysis shows that social media access is associated with higher voter turnout, but only under specific political, institutional, and social conditions. Countries with competitive elections, higher institutional trust, and credible information environments display stronger turnout effects linked to social media use, while contexts characterized by patronage-based mobilization and political uncertainty show weaker or uneven outcomes. The study further demonstrates that campaign strategies on social media shape participation through personalization, network-based diffusion, and emotional framing, often mobilizing particular voter segments rather than the electorate as a whole. Social inequalities in education, income, gender, and civic capacity significantly moderate these effects, limiting the participatory gains of digital expansion for marginalized groups. Overall, the findings suggest that social media acts as a conditional amplifier of electoral participation rather than a universal driver of voter turnout in Southeast Asia.

Abstract

This empirical qualitative study investigates the semiotic representation of local wisdom in Southeast Asian folk narratives across Malay, Bugis, and Thai communities, integrating textual, performative, and ritualized data to examine how ethical, ecological, and social knowledge is encoded and transmitted. Using purposive sampling, the research collected oral narratives, manuscripts, visual artifacts, and direct observations of storytelling and ritual performances, complemented by semi-structured interviews with community elders and knowledge holders. Data analysis employed thematic and semiotic content analysis grounded in Saussurean, Peircean, and ecosemiotic frameworks, coding indexes, icons, and symbols across multimodal contexts. Results demonstrate that multimodal semiotics—including gestures, costume motifs, vocal modulation, and symbolic repetition—function as pedagogical and ethical devices that reinforce comprehension and memory among participants. Comparative analysis highlights both functional universality and cultural specificity, with symbolic motifs conveying ecological stewardship, moral responsibility, and social norms consistently across communities. The study further shows that digital and performative adaptations preserve semiotic density while expanding interpretive reach. The findings contribute to theoretical frameworks of semiotics, cultural pedagogy, and knowledge transmission, offering methodological guidance for future empirical research on folk narratives.

Abstract

Climate justice has emerged as a critical normative issue that requires ethical and legal frameworks capable of integrating environmental sustainability with social welfare and intergenerational responsibility. This study aims to reconstruct Islamic environmental ethics through the perspective of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah and to formulate an integrated conceptual framework for contemporary climate governance. The research employed a qualitative normative legal approach using library research, drawing upon recent scholarly literature on Islamic environmental law, ecological jurisprudence, environmental ethics, and maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. Data were analyzed through qualitative content analysis and conceptual synthesis to identify key normative principles and develop an Eco-Maqāṣid framework. The findings demonstrate that environmental preservation should be understood as a foundational legal objective supporting the realization of public welfare, justice, and sustainable development. The study further shows that integrating the principles of tawḥīd, khilāfah, mīzān, and maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah provides a coherent ethical foundation for preventive environmental governance, institutional accountability, and climate resilience. The proposed Eco-Maqāṣid framework contributes theoretically by synthesizing fragmented discussions on Islamic environmental ethics into a unified analytical model and offers a normative reference for strengthening climate governance within contemporary Islamic legal thought.
