Abstract

The background of this research is the increasing frequency and intensity of natural disasters and humanitarian crises that require rapid and effective handling. Geospatial techniques have emerged as an important tool in disaster management, offering solutions for real-time mapping, monitoring, and analysis of emergency situations. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the role and effectiveness of geospatial techniques in handling natural disasters and humanitarian crises, and to identify areas that need improvement. The research method used involves analysis of current literature and case studies of various natural disaster incidents and humanitarian crises around the world. Data is collected from reliable sources such as scientific journals, government reports, and non-governmental organizations. This approach allows researchers to evaluate the practical application of geospatial techniques and identify key factors that influence their success. The results of the study show that geospatial techniques play a vital role in various stages of disaster management, from mitigation, preparedness, response, to recovery. Risk mapping, environmental change monitoring, and spatial analysis have been shown to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency response operations. However, the study also identified challenges such as limited data access, the need for specialized training, and adequate technological infrastructure. The study’s conclusion confirms that geospatial techniques are a crucial component in managing natural disasters and humanitarian crises. Proper implementation can save lives and significantly reduce negative impacts. Therefore, investment in geospatial technologies, human resource training, and infrastructure development should be a priority to improve emergency response capacity in the future.

Abstract

The development of entrepreneurial character in high school students is essential in preparing them for future challenges in an increasingly dynamic world. Project-Based Learning (PBL) has emerged as an effective pedagogical strategy to foster various skills, including problem-solving, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking. However, its application specifically to build entrepreneurial character has not been sufficiently explored in the context of high school education. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning in enhancing entrepreneurial characteristics such as creativity, risk-taking, leadership, and innovation in high school students. A mixed-method research design was employed, involving both quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with students and teachers. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ entrepreneurial skills, particularly in their ability to think critically, take initiative, and collaborate effectively in a team setting. Students also demonstrated greater confidence in pursuing entrepreneurial ventures after participating in PBL activities. The findings suggest that integrating PBL into the curriculum can significantly contribute to the development of entrepreneurial character in high school students, which is essential for fostering future entrepreneurs. This research provides valuable insights for educators and policymakers in rethinking educational practices to better equip students for the challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

The integration of Shariah law with modern capitalism has been a subject of significant debate, particularly in the context of Islamic banking. In Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim-majority country, Islamic banking has grown rapidly, offering a unique case study to explore this compatibility. This study examines the alignment of Shariah principles with the practices of modern capitalism in Indonesia’s Islamic banking sector, focusing on issues such as profit-sharing, risk management, and ethical investment. The research aims to identify the challenges and opportunities associated with integrating Shariah law into a capitalist financial system and propose strategies for enhancing this compatibility. Using a mixed-methods approach, this study combines quantitative analysis of financial performance data with qualitative interviews with Islamic banking practitioners, Shariah scholars, and regulators. Data were analyzed to assess the adherence of Islamic banks to Shariah principles, their financial performance, and their role in promoting ethical finance. The findings reveal that while Islamic banks in Indonesia generally comply with Shariah principles, challenges such as profit-driven practices and limited product innovation hinder their full alignment with Islamic ethics. The study concludes that enhancing the compatibility of Shariah law and modern capitalism requires a balanced approach that prioritizes ethical finance while maintaining competitiveness.

Abstract

Advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) are revolutionizing the field of genetic technology, particularly in DNA-based diagnostics, offering promising applications for the future of medicine. The rapid growth of AI in the analysis of genetic data allows for faster, more accurate, and cost-effective diagnostic processes. This study explores the integration of AI innovations in DNA diagnostics and their potential to transform clinical practices. Using a systematic review methodology, this research evaluates the current AI-driven genetic diagnostic technologies, focusing on their impact on disease detection, genetic mutation identification, and personalized treatment strategies. The findings reveal that AI-based tools, such as deep learning and machine learning algorithms, significantly improve the accuracy and speed of genetic diagnoses, particularly in rare genetic disorders and cancers. These technologies are also shown to enhance the predictive power of genetic tests, offering insights into patients' future health risks. The study concludes that AI-driven DNA diagnostics hold the potential to revolutionize medical practice, providing more precise, individualized care while reducing healthcare costs. However, challenges related to data privacy, algorithm transparency, and the need for large-scale clinical validation remain.

Abstract

Background. The rapid evolution of social media platforms has reshaped educational communication, offering new spaces for narrative-based learning that merges visual storytelling with participatory engagement. Purpose. This study explores the use of Instagram Stories and TikTok as narrative pedagogical tools that enhance students’ reflective, creative, and critical learning experiences in contemporary classrooms. Method. The research aims to analyze how short-form digital narratives can foster multimodal literacy, social interaction, and emotional connection in learning processes. Employing a qualitative narrative inquiry design, data were collected through classroom observations, student-generated content, and semi-structured interviews with educators and learners across higher education contexts. Results. The findings reveal that Instagram and TikTok stories serve as dynamic platforms for constructing personalized learning narratives that integrate academic content with lived experiences. Students demonstrated heightened engagement, creativity, and agency when invited to design educational stories, while teachers reported improved dialogic relationships and inclusivity in their classrooms. Conclusion. The study concludes that narrative pedagogy through social media transforms passive consumption into active knowledge creation, bridging formal and informal learning spaces. It emphasizes the potential of digital storytelling to cultivate critical digital citizenship and empathy among learners in the 21st century.
