Abstract

This community service program addresses the low digital literacy of teachers and the suboptimal use of technology in learning at SMA RK Deli Murni Deli Tua. The program aims to enhance teacher competence in utilizing artificial intelligence (AI)-based learning platforms and foster student learning independence. The implementation method employed participatory training and mentoring, including material presentations on AI concepts in education, hands-on practice using AI platforms for instructional media development, and independent implementation assistance. The program involved 25 teachers and 40 students. Results showed a significant increase in teacher understanding of AI utilization (from 35% to 88% based on pre-test and post-test assessments) and the successful development of AI-assisted digital learning tools by participating teachers. Students also demonstrated improved learning independence, reflected in increased active participation and ability to access independent learning resources. This program is expected to serve as a model for digital transformation in secondary education.

Abstract

Safeguarding digital assets is a critical element in overseeing corporate information infrastructures, becoming vital within the financial services landscape, including private pawnshops. This research focuses on fortifying data protection at PT Budi Gadai Indonesia by adopting the performance-based COBIT 2019 system and evaluating its operational impact. Using a descriptive-qualitative methodology, the study examines security management practices and their integration with the DSS and EDM areas of the framework. Conducted as a longitudinal evaluation (2020–2025), the deployment followed a systematic multi-phase strategy. Empirical evidence indicates that integrating this governance model bolstered security through rigorous access monitoring, refined audit logs, and structured risk mitigation. Specifically, the activation of DSS05 and DSS06 protocols lowered breach vulnerabilities by 68% and ensured stricter regulatory adherence. Notably, the integrity maturity rating surged from 2.22 to 4.24, representing a 91% enhancement. These outcomes suggest that international security standards are instrumental in securing information systems within the private pawn brokerage sector.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the School Management Information System and student data governance at Medan 1 Public High School (SMAN 1 Medan) using the COBIT 2019 framework. The evaluation was conducted across three key domains: grade and NISN (National Student Identity Number) data integrity (DSS06), e-learning availability (DSS05), and student data security. A quantitative approach was employed, with data collected through questionnaires, interviews, and direct observation of operational systems. The survey participants consisted of 45 individuals, including the principal, vice principal, teachers, IT staff, and system administrators. The analysis indicated that SMAN 1 Medan's IT governance maturity was at "Level 2 (Managed)" with an average score of 2.45 out of 5. The scores by domain were 2.38 for DSS06 (Business Process Control Management), 2.52 for DSS05 (Service Request and Incident Management), and 2.45 for the Data Security domain. Key findings from the study included the identification of several areas requiring improvement: (1) insufficient documentation for grade and NISN data management procedures, (2) e-learning infrastructure limitations that caused periodic downtime, and (3) suboptimal implementation of student data security policies. The study offers strategic recommendations for raising IT governance maturity to "Level 3 (Established)" through the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), infrastructure improvements, and strengthening of information security policies.

Abstract

Local e-commerce platforms and digital MSMEs in Indonesia currently encounter formidable obstacles regarding data security governance and maintaining service continuity. To address these issues, this research evaluates the management of data security and service stability at MedanMart, a prominent local e-commerce platform in Medan City, by utilizing the COBIT 2019 framework. The study specifically deep-dives into the DSS05 (Management of Security Services) and EDM03 (Ensuring Risk Optimization) domains to determine governance maturity, perform gap analysis, and formulate strategic improvements for digital business readiness. Employing an empirical, descriptive, and qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through field observations, policy document reviews, and semi-structured interviews with IT personnel, operations managers, and merchant representatives. The assessment results revealed a maturity score of 2.43 for DSS05 and 2.21 for EDM03, categorizing both at the "Managed" level. Critical gaps identified include the absence of a disaster recovery plan (DRP), inadequate risk management documentation, and a lack of continuous security monitoring. Although the platform maintained a 97.2% uptime during the study, the absence of a formal resilience strategy poses significant operational risks. Ultimately, while MedanMart possesses a functional security foundation, substantial reinforcement in risk monitoring and continuity planning is essential to satisfy COBIT 2019 standards and national personal data protection regulations.

Abstract

This study uses the COBIT 2019 approach to assess the maturity of the public service information system (IS) governance at the Medan City Population and Civil Registration Agency (Disdukcapil). The assessment focuses on processes DSS01 (Service Request and Incident Management) and DSS06 (Business Process Governance) to ensure the quality of digitally-based public services. Analysis targets include e-government service quality, citizen data integrity, queue performance, and system downtime. The research methodology employs quantitative and qualitative case studies, including a capability maturity questionnaire (n=50), structured interviews (n=6), and aggregated data on operational incidents over a three-month period based on global benchmarking standards. The analysis results showed an average maturity score of 2.84 (Managed) for DSS01 and 2.57 (Managed) for DSS06, indicating that IT processes are implemented and documented, but lack standardization across the organization. The largest gaps were identified in service-level agreements (SLAs) and incident escalation criteria, as well as data integrity reconciliation mechanisms. Findings from operational data indicate that while technical controls for data integrity exist, the lack of formal audit trails and periodic system downtime significantly impact service reliability. Recent global trends in system outages highlight the importance of robust mitigation strategies to prevent service disruptions. The study presents strategic recommendations organized into a 12-month roadmap: (1) strengthening the service desk and formalizing SLAs; (2) implementing a data change audit trail; (3) developing automated validation and reconciliation procedures; and (4) improving capacity planning to mitigate downtime. These findings are crucial for aligning IT operations with national and global goals of providing fast, accurate, and transparent public services.
