Abstract

Fusarium wilt disease on banana has been known as panama disease one of the main diseases that cause huge losses for banana farmers. It is caused by the soil-borne fungal pathogen, Fusarium oxysporum f.sp cubense (Foc), which is very hard control because it is saprophytic in the soil. The mold infiltrates the root to vascular tissue that induces yellowing on the leaf, so this pathogen can attack the root, stem dan leaf. The research aimed to search bacteria from the banana rhizosphere that have an antifungal activity to inhibit Foc growth. Bacteria was isolated by serial dilution then was spread on King’s B agar medium incubation 28oC (room temperature). Four quadrants in vitro test on PDA medium used twenty bacterial from isolation, from the test was obtained six isolates have the potential to inhibit the growth of Foc. Based on percentage inhibition radial growth four isolates that have inhibition 50% over which TR2 was the highest at 79.07%. The in vitro test confirmed that bacteria from the banana rhizosphere have potential as biocontrol agent because it was able to inhibit the Foc growth.

Abstract

Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria are names that contribute directly or indirectly to plant growth. This group of bacteria will stimulate plant growth through the synthesis of phytohormones (bio-stimulant). Indole acetic acid (IAA) plant endogenous auxin is one of the phytohormone type that these bacteria can generate. IAA has functions for root elongation, cell division and plant growth and development differentiation. This research aims to obtain possible isolates that can generate IAA to optimize the viability of germinating red pepper seed. Bacteria have been isolated by serial dilution spread of Nutrient agar medium was incubation over a 24-hour period at 28oC (room temperature). The amount of IAA was measured by spectrophotometric analysis, selected isolate on the basis of the results, used to encourage the germination of red pepper seed. Ten out of sixteen bacterial isolates could produce IAA in the range of 7.96 ppm - 47.23 ppm. The RC 3 isolate produced the highest IAA while the RC 12 was the other way round. The isolate chosen using this experiment showed an increase in the viability of red pepper seed compare seed germination to 33%, growth spontaneity 37%, vigor index 10%, growth rates 6% and max. growth 13%. IAA isolates could therefore increase the viability of red pepper and got potential of a biofertilizer component.

Abstract

Simalungun City has a very wide river ecosystem. This ecosystem is surrounded by a variety of industries and is likely to dump its waste into rivers. This can have an impact on the diversity of living things in the waters. This study aims to determine the diversity of macrozoobenthos as an indicator of water quality. The purposive random sampling method was used to determine 4 sampling stations. Samples were taken 3 times with an interval of 2 weeks. Data were then analyzed using a diversity index. The results found that the phylum Annelids, Arthropods, and Mollusks are divided into 20 genera. Cyrnellus genus has the highest density value at the cigarette factory waste disposal site that is 87.40 ind / m2. The highest diversity index is found in ice plant waste disposal sites and the highest uniformity index is found in locations free of human activity. Physical chemical factors have a strong correlation with macrozoobenthos diversity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the concentration of coconut water and onion extract on the growth of stevia plant cuttings. The research was conducted in Juli until November 2019 in trial garden of the Politeknik Wilmar Bisnis Indonesia. This research uses factorial randomized block design. The first factors are concentration of coconut water consisting of five levels is AK0 = control, AK1 = coconut water 25%, AK2 = coconut water 50%, AK3 = coconut water 75% and AK4 = coconut water 100%. The second factor was the treatment of onion extract consisting of five treatments namely BM0 = control, BM1 = concentration of onion extract 25%, BM2 = concentration of onion extract 50%, BM3 = concentration of onion extract 75% and BM4 = concentration of onion extract 100%. Observation of the percentage of live cuttings, stem height, number of leaves and root length was done at 2 MST, 3 MST and 4 MST. The highest percentage of cuttings found in plants treated with 100% coconut water and onion extract, the highest plant height was found in the treatment of 100% concentration of coconut water and onion extract (3 MST and 4 MST), the highest number of leaves found in the treatment 100% concentration of coconut water and shallot extract (3 MST) and the highest root length was found in the treatment of 100% concentration of coconut water and shallot extract (2 MST, 3 MST and 4 MST).

Abstract

Plants always interact with microorganisms either negatively or positively during their life cycle. The Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB) group is one example that has some beneficial effects on the plant. PSB can transform insoluble soil inorganic phosphates into soluble phosphorous so plants can absorb them. This research aimed to test the isolate's ability to solubilize phosphorous and use the 16S rRNA marker gene to identify it. Testing the ability of bacteria to solubilize phosphorous on Pikovskaya's agar medium used a qualitative method by observing the halo zone in the colony around it. Then the bacterial isolate was identified by analyzing the result of sequencing the 16S rRNA gene. The RZ02 bacterial isolate showed the highest performance in solubilizing phosphorous, with a 9.1 mm solubilization index. The gene of 16S rRNA was carried out by using primers 27F and 1492R with an amplicon size of 1500 base pairs. Sequencing analysis and construction of a phylogeny tree were conducted by the Mega X neighbor-joining method and showed 100% similarity with Pseudomonas aeruginosa OIS 481. The solubilization index indicated that the bacteria had a potential candidate to be one of the inoculant components for biofertilizer.

Abstract

PT Kebun Sayur Indonesia merupakan usaha yang bergerak di bidang produksi dan pemasaran sayur dan buah hidroponik. Selada keriting merupakan produk unggulan karena memiliki potensi pasar yang baik, namun rentan mengalami kerusakan fisik akibat kegiatan pengiriman dari kebun ke gudang. Hal ini menyebabkan timbulnya selada keriting yang tidak layak jual (limbah). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui model dan strategi bisnis selada keriting hidroponik, mengetahui faktor internal dan eksternal yang memengaruhi bisnis selada keriting, dan mengetahui strategi pengembangan bisnis baru untuk PT Kebun Sayur Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di PT Kebun Sayur Indonesia terletak di Amplas Trade Centre blok B9, JL Panglima Denai, Kec Medan Amplas, Kota Medan. Model bisnis disusun menggunakan Business Model Canvas (BMC) dan analisis IFAS-EFAS menggunakan SWOT. Hasil penelitian dengan BMC menunjukkan bahwa selada keriting PT Kebun Sayur Indonesia sudah memenuhi 9 aspek BMC namun masih perlu dikembangkan untuk menunjang perkembangan bisnis yang signifikan. Hasil analisis SWOT menunjukkan bisnis berada di kuadran 1 yang berarti bisnis progresif dengan peluang dan kekuatan yang baik, dimana strategi dalam kondisi ini memanfaatkan penjualan selada yang ada untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan mengembangkan bisnis dengan pasar baru. Berdasarkan matriks SWOT telah dikelompokkan usulan strategi, berupa grading afkir sayur selada.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase SD Negeri 105300 Deli Tua teachers' knowledge and skills in designing varied, interesting, differentiated learning processes and following the demands of the times through the application of design thinking and skills in digital technology. The method of implementing this service used ongoing training and assistance in making learning media with digital technology. The evaluation instrument used was a questionnaire, and it was analyzed descriptively. The results of this service showed that the teacher's knowledge and ability to design meaningful learning using digitalization technology according to the class phase increased significantly. Teachers had a growth mindset so that they became lifelong learning individuals and were adaptive in organizing digital-based learning and projects in their respective classes. On the other hand, the impact of this activity was felt by the participants as an increase in their sense of empathy for students.

Abstract

Day Day Fresh (DDF) is an online vegetable and fruit supply company that serves business consumers (B2B) and household consumers (B2C). Their sales growth to business consumers (B2B) has increased, but sales to household consumers (B2C) are still small and stagnant due to the difficulty of entering the home market segment. Therefore, it is important to know the preferences of online vegetable service consumers to increase sales of Day Day Fresh home consumers. Data collection uses a questionnaire and is given online via WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Telegram. This research used non-probability sampling techniques with 300 respondents. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis methods using Microsoft Excel. Based on the research result, it can be concluded Product variety is a very important factor for vegetable consumers in making purchases, where the freshness aspect is the most important in product quality. Price information is also a very important factor for consumers in purchasing decisions. The promotional aspect that most influences consumer purchasing decisions is ease of ordering and complaint service. In the location aspect, WhatsApp is the most preferred medium for consumers to purchase vegetables online. Key words:  costumer preference, place, price, product, promotionINTISARIDay Day Fresh (DDF) adalah perusahaan penyediaan sayur dan buah online yang melayani konsumen bisnis (B2B) dan konsumen rumah tangga (B2C). Pertumbuhan penjualan Day Day Fresh pada konsumen bisnis (B2B) mengalami peningkatan, namun penjualan pada konsumen rumah tangga (B2C) masih sedikit dan stagnan karena sulitnya memasuki segmen pasar rumahan. Sehingga penting untuk diketahui preferensi konsumen layanan sayur online untuk meningkatkan penjualan konsumen rumahan Day Day Fresh agar produk yang dihasilkan sesuai dengan keinginan konsumen.  Penelitian dilakukan di Kota Medan pada Agustus hingga Oktober 2022. Jenis penelitian adalah marketing research. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan diberikan secara online dengan bantuan aplikasi whatsapp, instagram, facebook dan telegram. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik non probability sampling dengan responden sebanyak 300 orang. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode analisis deskriptif menggunakan Microsoft Excel.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi produk merupakan faktor yang sangat penting bagi konsumen sayuran dalam melakukan pembelian, dimana aspek kesegaran paling penting dalam kualitas produk. Informasi harga juga menjadi faktor yang sangat penting bagi konsumen dalam memutuskan pembelian. Aspek promosi yang paling mempengaruhi keputusan pembelian bagi konsumen adalah kemudahan dalam pemesanan dan layanan komplain. Pada aspek tempat, whatsapp menjadi media yang paling disukai konsumen untuk melakukan pembelian sayur online. Key words: harga, preferensi konsumen, produk, promosi, tempat

Abstract

Fertilizer application is a crucial aspect of agricultural practices, especially for horticultural crops like cauliflower. Humbang Hasundutan Regency, a key horticultural hub in North Sumatra Province, has been significantly affected by rising chemical fertilizer costs, placing a financial strain on farmers. This study aimed to evaluate three fertilization strategies in terms of cost-efficiency, effectiveness, and their potential to reduce chemical fertilizer expenses. Using an experimental method, primary data were collected over one growing season to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of each experiment. Results showed that combining chemical and organic fertilizers improved cost-efficiency but did not enhance production effectiveness. Specifically, a 50:50 blend of chemical and organic fertilizers reduced fertilizer costs by IDR 1,468,400 per hectare. These findings indicate that incorporating organic fertilizers can be a viable approach for farmers to lower input costs and potentially improve farm sustainability.
