Abstract

The development of smart tourism in tourism villages requires the integration of digital services that enhance efficiency, accessibility, and visitor experience. One essential component of smart tourism is the adoption of digital payment systems supported by adequate digital financial literacy among local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Batu Belubang Tourism Village has significant tourism potential; however, most MSME actors still rely on cash-based transactions due to limited understanding of digital financial services. This community service program aims to improve digital financial literacy and support the implementation of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) among MSMEs as part of smart tourism development. The program employed a direct, door-to-door assistance method using a participatory approach, involving lecturers and students as facilitators. Activities included individual socialization, technical assistance for QRIS registration, and initial implementation guidance. The results indicate a notable improvement in MSMEs’ understanding of digital payment systems and a positive attitude toward QRIS adoption. MSME actors began to recognize QRIS as a tool that supports transaction efficiency, financial transparency, and tourist convenience. This program contributes to strengthening the digital ecosystem of tourism villages and supports the sustainable development of smart tourism at the local level

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the financial behavior of middle-class urban families in Indonesia. This study use Behavioral Household Finance framework and integrated it with Theory of Planned Behavior. Despite the increaseing of financial literacy, many households have poor financial behaviors. Using a qualitative approach, the research gets insights from in-depth interviews with nine families selected through purposive sampling. Participants were middle-income family living in urban areas with school-aged children. Thematic analysis revealed that financial behavior is shaped by cognitive biases, social norms, perceived behavioral control, and financial literacy. Limited financial knowledge and negative perceptions of formal financial institutions also hindered their ability to improve their financial behavior which represented in their financial outcome. On the other hand, families with higher financial literacy demonstrated better control over their finances, proactive saving strategies, and more resilience against behavioral biases and social pressure. These findings highlight that enhancing financial literacy alone is insufficient without addressing the psychological and cultural factors that influence financial decision-making. This study offers implications for the design of financial education and policy interventions that go beyond technical knowledge and incorporate behavioral insights aligned with local cultural values.

Abstract

Tourism promotion plays a strategic role in enhancing destination competitiveness, particularly in regions with strong natural and cultural potential such as Bangka Belitung Province. This study aims to examine the influence of emotional-based tourism promotion that integrates storytelling and visual–audio stimuli on tourists’ visiting intention. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving tourists who have been exposed to Bangka Belitung tourism promotional content. Data were analyzed using a structural modeling approach to examine the relationships among the research variables. The findings indicate that emotional-based tourism promotion plays a crucial role in shaping tourists’ interest and visiting intention through emotional engagement generated by narrative elements and harmonious visual and audio presentation. These findings highlight the relevance of emotional marketing as an effective strategy in destination promotion. This study contributes theoretically to the development of emotional marketing research in the tourism context and provides practical implications for tourism stakeholders in designing more engaging, persuasive, and sustainable promotional strategies.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine how attitudes and intentions influence the sharia-compliant financial behavior of MSME practitioners, employing the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) as a theoretical framework. TPB explains that actual behavior is influenced by intention, which is formed by attitudes and control of perceptual behavior. The research adopts a quantitative explanatory approach and applies the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method for data analysis. The sample consisted of 35 micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) actors located in Toboali District, South Bangka, selected via purposive sampling. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale, measuring four main constructs: attitude (ATT), perceived behavioral control (PBC), intention (INT), and actual behavior (BEH). The results of the study show that attitude has a significant effect on actual intentions and behaviors. Intention also plays a key role as a key predictor of actual behavior, strengthening the SDG framework. However, perceptual behavior control did not show a significant effect on intentions or behavior. These findings affirm the importance of forming a positive attitude and strengthening intentions in encouraging the adoption of Islamic finance practices among MSMEs. Strategic interventions need to be directed at increasing literacy, understanding sharia values, and strengthening the internal motivation of business actors so that Islamic financial transformation can run sustainably and equivocally.
