Abstract

The potential of natural resources owned by the Wong Polo beach tourism area in the Pantai Cermin sub-district needs to be explored and developed into a tourism sector without good planning, which will result in loss and quality degradation of the area that is not expected. Based on the results of the study, it is shown that the identification of the physical aspects of the beach condition supports the development of beach tourism, which is one of the beach tourism destinations located in Hamlet XI, Kota Pari Village, Pantai Cermin District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra. This Wong Polo beach area has white sand beaches and Mangrove forest areas based on nature tourism and the pattern of structuring the zones in the Wong Polo beach area leads and is oriented towards the waters as well as to facilitate these tourist attractions into areas of a beach of interest visitors.

Abstract

The main impact resulting from sea level rise is the occurrence of high tides which result in tidal flooding to community settlements in Bagan Deli Village. This phenomenon has a negative impact on improving the quality of life indicators in a settlement. Inadequate house shape to prevent tidal flooding and irregular spatial patterns are factors in this research. The purpose of this study is to produce a floating house arrangement design solution which is expected to be a solution for areas affected by tidal flooding. This research method uses a pattern of circulation forms that already exist in Bagan Deli Village and applies the concept of a floating house design with architectural design principles. The results of this study will be published so that it can become a theoretical basis for the community and government in improving the quality of the community environment affected by the tidal flood.

Abstract

The surface around Belawan is nearly below the water level. So that at high tide Belawan automatically inundated. This is a phenomenon that has become a tradition at high tide. Tidal flood is a flood whose water comes from sea water. This tidal flood is a flood caused by the tide of sea water, until the tidal water inundates the land. This tidal flood is also known as inundation flood. This tidal flood will often hit or often occur in areas whose surface is lower than sea level. Because it is caused by the overflow of sea water that reaches the mainland, the water that is inundated due to this tidal flood has a color that tends to be clearer than the water in the usual floods. Tidal flood itself has several special characteristics or special characteristics it has. Some of the characteristics or characteristics of tidal flooding, among others, occur when the sea water is high, the color of the water is not too cloudy, it does not only occur when the rainy season arrives, usually occurs in areas that have a lower plains area than the ocean area. Impacts that arise due to tidal flooding, therefore many or small tidal floods must have a negative impact on the people who experience it, causing material losses, damaging buildings, causing the environment to become dirty and muddy, spreading germs. The floating house is a solution in tackling flooding due to high tide. By using a layout pattern with architectural design principles by considering drainage, comfort, and a clean and well-organized environment.

Abstract

BBPLK (Great Center for the Development of Job Training) is one of the job training centers in the city of Medan which is also known as the Indonesian Vocational Work Training (PLKI) under the coordination of the regional office of Indonesian workers in the province of North Sumatra. BBPLK itself has a park that has the potential to be used as an attractive plan, namely the welcome area where the site location is not well organized. The problem in this planning is how to plan the welcome area of the BBPLK park based on education and training landscapes with the Thematic Architecture approach. The design concept used is the concept of a clean cut thematic garden which is neatly based, well organized, and has three area divisions, namely the thematic garden area, the special training center area for landscapes, and the nursery placement area in the training park.

Abstract

Tidal flooding in coastal areas is a problem that is currently very difficult to solve, especially in the Bagan Deli area of Belawan. Global warming is the main factor in melting the polar ice caps and causing sea levels to rise, when the tide rises to 2.7 meters above sea level, which temporarily stops the activities and economy of residents in the Bagan Deli Belawan area. This study aims to solve problems and obtain design solutions with the concept of floating tourism to prevent tidal water due to tidal flooding into residential areas. The research method uses the hull engineering design method (Hull) as a floating medium above which will be made into a tourist area and linked to an experimental electromechanical module (MOSE) to prevent tidal flood waters from entering residential areas, so that tourist areas are not washed away. The results of this study will be a recommend  for the concept of preventing tidal flooding in all residential areas in coastal areas.

Abstract

The condition of Taman Sri Deli currently functions as a public space where one of its functions is used as a culinary tourism spot. The problem that occurs is when the Ramadan Fair event is held and there are road closures that disrupt the activities of road users. Therefore, it is necessary to do a solution by referring to the design of the culinary tourism area allocated in Taman Sri Deli in order to maximize the design that can support the activities of existing events. The theme that will be applied in the design of Taman Sri Deli Culinary Tour is the Green Space theme.

Abstract

Pancur Batu is one of the districts in Deli Serdang, with the majority of the population being Muslim. But from a large number of the Muslim population, the facilities to channel the spiritual needs of Muslims are relatively few. There are fewer mosques than churches, and schools that teach Islamic knowledge, such as Madrasahs and tahfidz houses, are also relatively few. This research aims to design the landscape of the tahfidz hut area as a place to channel the spiritual needs of Muslims which contain open space, a tahfidz Qur'an building, a place of Muslim worship (Mosque), a coaching area for tahfidz Qur'an students and Muslim visitors. Islamic garden is a concept adopted from the depiction of the beauty of heaven in the Qur'an towards a landscape character. The research method used in this research is the site inventory method, then comparative studies of similar projects, literature studies, and data analysis techniques. The results of this research are in the form of working drawings that include basic concepts, design concepts, and development concepts. The output of landscape planning of Tahfidz boarding school consists of a site plan and illustration drawing. The result of Islamic garden-based landscape planning is to plan a landscape that can be enjoyed optimally and can have a good influence on humans and has sharia rules or restrictions on elements, characters, and activities in Islamic gardens that aim not to associate with Allah SWT.

Abstract

Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) Kota Medan di Kelurahan Terjun Kecamatan Medan Marelan merupakan tempat pembuangan akhir Kota Medan. Komposisi sampah di TPA Terjun tahun 2017 terdiri dari organik 71, 5 %; Kertas 2 %; plastik 10,1 %; kayu 2 %; kain 2,5 % karet 2,5 %; logam 0,6 %; kaca 0,8 %; Bongkahan 1 %; pampers / Pembalut 3, 1 % dan lain – lain 3,8 %. Tujuan dari program pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi dan pelatihan kepada masyarakat sebagai upaya penanggulangan sampah plastik menggunakan metode ecobrick. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah penyuluhan dan transfer teknologi. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini mendapatkan respon yang positif, terlihat dari peningkatan pemahaman peserta setelah mengikuti edukasi dan pelatihan seperti pemilahan sampah sebesar 100%, pemahaman pembuatan ecobrick sebesar 87,5% dan pemahaman penggunaan ecobrick sebesar 65%. Hasil dari pembuatan ecobrik yang dirancang untuk memanfaatkan umur panjang dan daya tahan material plastik, menjadi balok bangunan yang bisa dipakai berulang yang berdampak baik bagi lingkungan serta menjadi solusi penganggulangan sampah sebagai sumber daya buatan.

Abstract

The growth rate of the population has become a problem in the environmental context, both at the regional, national, and global levels. This issue has become a topic with the awareness that an increase in population affects human socio-economic activities that threaten the environment. This research aims to find out the waste management system planning in the Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park area. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research with a literature study research method through a literature study derived from previous research journals related to the title. The results of this study indicate that the waste management planning in Kutalimbaru Sub-District, Sampe Cita Village, in the Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park area focuses on the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 3234-2008, including activities such as sorting, composting, and recycling. Implementing a new waste management paradigm, such as collecting, sorting, transporting, processing, and disposing, views waste as a resource with economic value that can be utilized.
