Abstract

INTISARIMacapat secara umum didefinisikan sebagai karya sastra Jawa Baru yang ditulis menggunakan bahasa Jawa dan memiliki aturan persajakan yang baku. Berdasarkan catatan sejarah,  tercipta dari unsur budaya Islam, Hindu, dan kepercayaan Jawa (kejawen), secara implisit mengandung nilai spiritualitas dari beberapa unsur budaya religi tersebut karya sastra ini cukup populer bagi masyarakat Jawa berfungsi untuk berbagai kepentingan mulai praktik artistik, keagamaan, sosial, pendidikan, dan sebagainya.Seiring berjalannya waktu, tembang macapat dihadirkan dalam bentuk sajian budaya musik populer. Kelompok musik Mantradisi menghadirkan bentuk kreativitas penyajian tembang macapat menggunakan media musik populer dan teknologi audio-visual effect. Kehadiran Mantradisi menghadirkan bentuk baru dalam penyajian macapat, dari musik tradisional menjadi musik populer. Transformasi bentuk musikal tersebut memberikan perubahan dalam penilaian estetika dan spiritualitas.Perubahan bentuk wahana dari macapat menjadi pertunjukan Goro-goro Diponegoro menghadirkan perubahan bentuk musikal yaitu  komposisi, tangga nada,  dan non-musikal seperti performativitas dan estetika. Pertunjukan Goro-goro Diponegoro juga menghadirkan bentuk praktik spiritualitas bagi para pemainnya. Keterkaitan antara macapat dan pertunjukan Goro-goro Diponegoro sebagai media praktik spiritual memberikan kesimpulan bahwa sifat sakral dan profan dalam pertunjukan Goro-goro Diponegoro telah melebur menjadi spiritualitas.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan mewacanakan berbagai perspektif keilmuan. Analisis tekstual penelitian ini menggunakan wacana kreativitas, estetika, alih wahana, performativitas sedangkan Analisis kontekstual spiritualitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kreativitas yang terdapat pada pertunjukan Goro-goro Diponegoro dan mencari relasi antara seni dengan agama.

Abstract

Sholawat Global adalah karya seni musik  yang merepresentasikan sikap toleransi praktik keberagamaan. Karya ini menyimpan pelbagai makna-makna yang mendalam. Penelitian ini dikerjakan dengan pendekatan kualitatif eksplanatoris dengan mewacanakan analisis semiotika yang ditawarkan Umberto Eco yang ditinjau dari kesatuan teks dan konteks Etnomusikologis. Penggalian makna  dalam Sholawat Global dianalisis menggunakan perspektif semiotika yang ditawarkan oleh Umberto Eco yaitu pemaknaan konotatif dan denotatif. Makna denotatif dalam karya ini ditinjau dari simbol-simbol hasil  manifestasi agama dunia yaitu kristen, Yahudi, dan Islam berupa lagu-lagu yang disajikan. Lagu-lagu yang dibawakan mengandung ekspresi yang menyuarakan perdamaian dalam konteks kehidupan sosial agama-agama dunia. Ekspresi musikal dan non musikal dalam karya ini merepresentasikan sebuah konten berupa kontruksi budaya dan konflik sosial yang hadir dalam persinggungan antar agama-agama dunia tersebut. Sholawat Global memiliki makna konotasi yang memposisikan lagu tersebut sebagai media komunikasi masyarakat. Pemaknaan denotasi dan konotasi mencerminkan kesatuan makna yang saling menguatkan. Lewat ekspresi musikal dan non musikal, pesan dari perdamaian yang memberikan efek keselamatan dan kesejahteraan bagi umat manusia yang dikumandangkan. Kata kunci: Sholawat Global, Semiotika, Etnomusikologis

Abstract

This research investigates Rabam Jawa (ระบำชวา) as a case to show a complex case of cultural representation blending Java and Thai culture. It is not just a replication of Javanese dance, but such an act of cultural appropriation and aesthetic transformation where a Thai mode of Javanese-imaginary is constructed. The study integrates Maruska Svasek’s theory of cultural transit and Julie Sander’s concept of appropriation that employs a qualitative and interpretive analysis. Through Svasek and Sanders, this research analyzes how cultural product is not just transferred into another style, but actively recreated, which enriches the aesthetic paradigm of cross-cultural identity. The primary fieldwork was started in 2016 through interviews with senior dancers and a Thai national artist, and focus group discussions with teachers from Lopburi, Angtong, and Suphanburi College of Dramatic Art. This data was supplemented by ongoing choreographic observation and literature studies. The findings reveal the aesthetic domestication of Javanese performing elements (movement, music, and costume), mixed and transformed into Thai performance. This research contributes to transcultural performance studies by showing how Thai culture appropriates and styles foreign elements.

Abstract

Program pelatihan karawitan dan tari di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Mlese, Gantiwarno, Klaten, Jawa Tengah memberikan materi tentang teknik tabuhan, vokal, dan sikap menari dalam konteks tradisi Jawa. Proses pelatihan dilakukan selama kurang lebih satu bulan dengan menggunakan metode ceramah, demonstrasi, imitatif, dan tabuh bersama. Luaran kegiatan pelatihan ini membuat karya kolaborasi antara karawitan dan tari yang disajikan dalam pertunjukan tari Gugur Gunung. Pelatihan ini bertujuan memberikan ruang untuk mengekspresikan diri, melatih kepekaan kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik melalui olah wiraga, wirama, dan wirasa yang bermanfaat  dalam proses belajar di sekolah. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menambah perbendaharaan materi karawitan dan tari di SDN Mlese, membangun kreativitas, kecerdasan kognitif, dan emosi, serta menanamkan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan dan budi pekerti bagi siswa-siswi. Kegiatan pelatihan ini menjadi tawaran bagi pemerintah, instansi terkait, dan masyarakat umum sebagai media untuk mengatasi permasalahan-permasalahan sosial yang muncul di masyarakat. Selain itu, pelatihan ini sebagai upaya preservasi dan transmisi budaya lintas generasi, meningkatkan minat siswa-siswi terhadap seni dan budaya khususnya karawitan dan tari tradisional Jawa. The karawitan and dance training program at  Mlese Gantiwarno State Elementary School, Klaten, Central Java provides material on instrument techniques, vocals, and Javanese dance techniques. The training process was carried out for approximately one month through lecturing, demonstration, imitative and music play together methods. The output of this training activity was a collaborative work between accompaniment and dance which was presented in the Gugur Gunung dance performance. This training aims to provide space to express oneself, train cognitive, affective and psychomotor sensitivity in the context of Javanese dance philosophy called wiraga, wirama and wirasa. The results of this community service are increasing the repertoire of musical and dance material at SDN Mlese, building creativity, cognitive and emotional intelligence, as well as instilling human values and manners in students. This training activity serves as a medium for the government, related agencies and the general public to overcome social problems that arise in society. Apart from that, this training is an effort to preserve and transmit across generations, increasing students' interest in art and culture, especially musical and traditional Javanese dance.

Kegiatan pelatihan ini menjadi tawaran bagi pemerintah, instansi terkait, dan masyarakat umum sebagai media untuk mengatasi permasalahan-permasalahan sosial yang muncul di masyarakat. Abstract

Indonesia's ethnomusicological heritage, documented since Jaap Kunst's early 20th-century works, remains largely inaccessible due to fragmented archival systems and analog-based documentation. This research addresses the "archival accumulation crisis" by developing a system called Etnomusiklopedia, a comprehensive digitization model that integrates four core dimensions of ethnomusicology—organology, performance practice, cultural context, and sonic documentation—within a unified digital ecosystem. Employing Design Science Research (DSR) methodology, we designed a relational database architecture featuring context-rich metadata, semantic search capabilities, and community-centered curation mechanisms. Validation with ethnomusicology practitioners and cultural stakeholders demonstrates significant improvements in accessibility of knowledge and efficiency of cross-referencing compared to conventional archival systems. Beyond technological innovation, this model addresses critical ethical dimensions of digital heritage management, emphasizing meaningful community participation to prevent recolonization of indigenous knowledge. The research contributes both a functional prototype and a theoretical framework for cultural heritage digitization that transform archives from passive repositories into active tools for community empowerment and knowledge reclamation.

Abstract

This research investigates the development of creative, effective, and applicable inclusive learning methods in traditional Indonesian music and dance, focusing on individuals with disabilities at Sanggar Sripanglaras in Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. This study employs a qualitative method with a participant observer and ethnomusicological approach. Data were gathered through a combination of observational studies, interviews, and a thorough analysis of documents related to the practice of teaching music and Angguk dance to students with visual, hearing, speech, and intellectual impairments, as well as those with down syndrome. The results demonstrate that the studio’s pedagogy adheres to a gradual, participatory approach, leveraging auditory senses and musicality to enhance the students’ capabilities. The acquisition of knowladge extends beyond technical aptitudes to include the cultivation of mental resilience and character. The musical aspect is explored using Rahayu Supanggah’s concept of “garap”, while the educational ascpect is analyzed through Bloom’s taxonomy. Sanggar Sripanglaras has emerged as a prominent social and educational institution that fosters inclusivity, promoting cohesion and fostering the growth of self-esteem in children with disabilities throught the mediums of traditional music and dance. These findings can serve as a model for sustainable inclusive arts education that is relevant to the arts education needs of people with disabilities in Indonesia.
