Abstract

Public open spaces are city facilities that can be enjoyed and utilized by all ages, including children. At present, public open spaces sometimes put aside the elements of children's interests or needs in it so that children do not have a place to channel their creativity and aspirations. Kampung Nelayan Untia, Makassar City has a Child Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA) provided by the government, but children prefer to play activities on the road around the house. The aim of this study is to identify the activities and conditions of children's playgrounds in the settlement area of Kampung Nelayan Untia and to propose an ideal RPTRA optimization strategy. This research was conducted from December 2019 to March 2020 (3 months). The research method used is descriptive analysis, spatial, scoring, and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results showed that the provision of RPTRA Untia is currently not a solution for children to carry out their activities because the availability of supporting facilities and RPTRA criteria have not been fully fulfilled which causes a lack of attractiveness for children to play or do their activities. In addition, there are several aspects that become top priorities in the development of RPTRA Untia, namely the availability of playing facilities, shade trees, and comfort.

Abstract

Palippis Beach is an underwater coastal tourism object (snorkeling) and a rest area, but there is a conflict with managers who prioritize finance and a lack of visitors from year to year, which causes Pantai Palippis being not optimal as a waterfront public space. The aim of this research is to determine the quality of Palippis Beach as a waterfront public space and the recommendations of its development based on the placemaking approach. This research was conducted from November 2019 until February 2020 (4 months). This research used primary and secondary data which collected by field surveys, questionnaires, interviews, documentation and literature studies. The research location takes a part of the rest area which is located between Polewali Mandar and Majene Regencies. The analysis used in this research is Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method, activity mapping analysis (behavior mapping), and infrastructure analysis. The results showed that the quality value of Palippis Beach using the IPA questionnaire method gets a value of 83.50% which declared as a high quality because it is between 76% -100%. The intensity of use from Palippis Beach scores 54.54% on weekdays and 53.2% on holidays which is considered high because it is in the range of 51% -75%. There are several tourist infrastructure that still need to be equipped, such as tourism services, security, and cleanliness so quality improvement recommendations are required based on the four quadrants resulting from the Cartesian diagram of the IPA method. These directives are recommendations for the development, maintenance, utilization and adjustment of tourist area infrastructure in accordance with applicable standards.

The results of the analysis show the pattern of development of land NJOP that there is no significant change in land NJOP in 2008-2010, then the increase occurred in 2011 and tends to remain in 2012-2014, then increased in 2015. The proportion of influence of distance, radius and function variables the building as an indicator of the existence of Seruni Beach as a public waterfront is 35.6%. Furthermore, the remaining 64.4% (100% minus 35.6%) is influenced by other variables, in this case variables other than the existence of Seruni Beach. So that, overall, the results of the regression analysis showed that the presence of Seruni Beach did not have a significant influence on NJOP changes, as evidenced by the Sig <0.05 with a proportion of influence of 35.6%. This indicates the existence of Seruni Beach public space has a small correlation (correlation) effect on changes in land NJOP in the study area.

Abstract

Lake Mawang as ecotourism and scientific land will become a tourism icon in Gowa Regency. The lake, which is located between two sub-districts, namely Bontomarannu Subdistrict and Somba Opu Subdistrict, is one of the main program proposals in the Tourism Sector Potential Development and Rehabilitation program (Gowa District Regulation No.4 of 2007). In addition, based on the Gowa Regency RTRW in 2011-2030, Lake Mawang was designated as a District Strategic Area (KSK) for the benefit of environmental carrying capacity, which plays a role in the ecological utilization and balance of environmental preservation. The purpose of this study was to identify the potential and problems of the Mawang Lake area and formulate directions for developing the Mawang Lake area as an ecotourism area. The analysis technique used is the ODTW analysis to determine the value of potential development, the level of feasibility of tourist objects and attractions. Then consider the physical and non-physical aspects with a qualitative approach to identify potential and problems so that they can formulate the direction of developing ecotourism in the Mawang Lake area. The results of this study show that the ODTW evaluation interval of the Mawang Lake area is in the "good" interval to be developed, and the level of feasibility of objects and tourist attractions is in the "very potential" classification. The directives are in the form of ecotourism zoning planning, development of tourist attractions, circulation and transportation directions, planning of infrastructure facilities, increasing the capacity of stakeholders, and strategies in tourism promotion marketing.

Abstract

Belang-Belang Fishing Village has physical and non-physical characteristics. Physical characteristics analyzed are geographical location and infrastructure including road networks, green open spaces and building functions. Non-physical characteristics include aspects of population and livelihoods. The purpose of this study was to identify the physical and non-physical characteristics of Belang-Belang Fishermen Village, identify seaweed management processes and divide zoning based on physical characteristics and seaweed management processes in the Belng-Belang Fishermen Village Area. The research method is done descriptively with spatial analysis techniques in the form of map overlay techniques. The results of this study indicate that the Belang-Belang Fishermen Village in general has not been well-ordered, so zoning is needed. Zoning is done by identifying the physical characteristics and management processes. The physical characteristics in question are geographical location, infrastructure facilities which include road networks, green open spaces and building functions. Seaweed management is divided into three zones, namely pre-production, production and distribution zones. The pre-production zone is divided into seaweed nursery, seaweed planting and seaweed drying zones. Furthermore, there are no production zones in the research area so seaweed products obtained are directly sold through distribution channels.

Abstract

Based on the White Book data, in the Jeneponto district there is the potential for mangrove forests, which are spread over the Bangkala and Tamalatea Districts with a total area of 206 ha. Many of the mangrove forests in this region have been converted into ponds and settlements. Conversion of mangrove forests for aquaculture, settlements, ports, recreational / tourist attractions, industrial estates or other uses has a tremendous impact on the ecosystem of coastal areas. Determination of suitability of residential land, ponds and conservation is one of the efforts that can be done to prevent and control land use that is not in accordance with its designation. The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of existing coastal areas to analyze the suitability of residential land, ponds and conservation in the coastal areas of Bangkala and Tamalatea Districts. This study uses the Spatial Multi Criteria Analysis (SMCA) method to assess the suitability of residential land, ponds and conservation. The results showed that residential areas are scattered in coastal areas and coastal borders covering an area of 498 hectares, generally embankment areas are salt ponds covering 792 hectares, and conservation areas covering 639.5 hectares. The most suitable land for settlement areas is located in Bontorannu Sub-district, while the most suitable land for tambak area is located in Bontotangnga Sub-district and the most suitable land for conservation area is located in West Tonrokassi Sub-District.
