Abstract

During interview, a psychologist should pay attention to every gesture and response, both verbal and nonverbal language/behaviors, made by the client. Psychologist certainly has limitation in recognizing every gesture and response that indicates a lie, especially in interpreting nonverbal behaviors that usually occurs in a short time. In this research, a real time facial expression recognition is proposed to track nonverbal behaviors to help psychologist keep informed about the change of facial expression that indicate a lie. The method tracks eye gaze, wrinkles on the forehead, and false smile using combination of face detection and facial landmark recognition to find the facial features and image processing method to track the nonverbal behaviors in facial features. Every nonverbal behavior is recorded and logged according to the video timeline to assist the psychologist analyze the behavior of the client. The result of tracking nonverbal behaviors of face is accurate and expected to be useful assistant for the psychologists.

Abstract

General Background: Literacy in early childhood is a fundamental aspect that supports language, cognitive, and social development. Specific Background: However, many kindergarten-aged children face limited stimulation, and reading activities are often less engaging due to lack of supportive media. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have examined early literacy practices, but few have explored the practical role of reading corners in kindergarten settings. Aims: This study aims to describe the implementation of reading corners and their contribution to improving literacy skills among children aged 5–6 years at TK Negeri 05 Mekarsari. Results: The findings indicate that the reading corner facilitated significant improvements in children’s abilities to recognize letters, increase vocabulary, and retell stories. Novelty: This study highlights the contextual application of reading corners as an effective literacy environment that stimulates children’s motivation and active participation. Implications: The results suggest that reading corners can be optimized as a simple yet impactful strategy in early childhood education, emphasizing the importance of teacher creativity and parental involvement in strengthening literacy culture from an early age. Highlights: Reading corner improves children’s literacy in kindergarten Supports vocabulary growth and storytelling skills Strengthens literacy culture with teacher and parent roles Keywords: Early Childhood Education, Literacy, Reading Corner, Vocabulary, Storytelling

Abstract

General Background: Cognitive development in early childhood is a fundamental domain that shapes logical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and observational abilities. Specific Background: However, learning activities in early childhood education often remain dominated by rote memorization with limited exploratory engagement. Knowledge Gap: Few studies have systematically applied simple experimental methods as a structured learning strategy in early childhood settings. Aims: This study investigates the application of simple experiments to optimize the cognitive development of children aged 5–6 years in TK Marwah, Tanjung Jabung Timur. Results: Using a classroom action research design with two cycles and 12 children as participants, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Findings indicate significant improvements in children’s abilities to observe, classify, and conclude, with cognitive achievement increasing from 41.6% in the pre-cycle to 83.3% in the second cycle. Novelty: The study highlights how simple, playful scientific activities—such as color mixing and observing changes in objects—provide meaningful stimulation for early cognitive growth. Implications: These results suggest that simple experimental methods can be integrated into early childhood curricula to foster scientific thinking and active learning. Highlights: Structured simple experiments stimulate scientific thinking in early learners. Cognitive achievement improved significantly across two research cycles. Practical approach applicable for sustainable early childhood education. Keywords: Simple Experiment, Cognitive Development, Early Childhood, Scientific Learning, Active Learning

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the intention to use DANA e-wallets using the SEM-PLS method. The evaluation of the measurement model is carried out through Convergent Validity, and Discriminant Validity tests to ensure that the research instrument is valid and reliable. The bootstrapping test was used to assess the significance of the relationship between latent variables based on a t-statistic value with a t-> limit of 1.96 at a significance level of 5%. Data was obtained through a questionnaire of 130 respondents who were selected using purposive sampling with the criteria of being at least 17 years old, domiciled in East Lombok, understood the DANA application, and had the intention to use it, and supported by secondary data from various scientific sources. The results of the study show that the variables in the model have a different influence on the intention of using the DANA application. Perceived Usefulness had no significant effect on usage intent (t = 1.676; p = 0.094), while Perceived Ease of Use was proven to have a positive and significant effect (t = 2.533; p = 0.011), so the easier the application is to use, the higher the user's intention to use it. In addition, Perceived Security also had a positive and significant effect (t = 3,039; p = 0.002), confirming that the higher the sense of security that users feel, the greater their tendency to continue using DANA. These findings provide an empirical overview of the factors of digital financial service acceptance in the Lombok community. Keywords: Intent To Use, E-Wallet, DANA, SEM-PLS, Financial Technology

Abstract

The Community Service Program (PKM) titled “Bullying-Free Friendly School” was carried out to enhance students’ understanding and skills in preventing and responding to bullying at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Laboratorium Jambi. The program, attended by 24 students, featured a Clinical Psychologist as the main speaker and employed various methods, including psychoeducation, multimedia presentations, educational videos, interactive discussions, and role-play simulations. Data were collected through observation, student participation, and documentation of activities. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ comprehension of the concepts, types, and impacts of bullying, including physical, verbal, social, psychological, and cyberbullying. Students were also able to practice appropriate response strategies through role play, such as reporting according to the school’s referral system and providing emotional support to peers. Furthermore, the program successfully fostered empathy, collective awareness, and student commitment to building a safe and bullying-free school environment. This PKM proves that structured educational interventions with psychological approaches are effective in strengthening child-friendly school culture, improving mental well-being, and promoting respectful behavior within the madrasa community.
