Abstract

Deteksi dini terhadap tumbuh kembang anak pada usia dini adalah aspek krusial dalam memastikan anak-anak mendapatkan perawatan dan stimulasi yang tepat untuk mencapai potensi penuh mereka. Namun, di banyak komunitas, kesadaran akan pentingnya deteksi dini ini masih rendah. Desa Kemingking, sebagai representasi dari banyak daerah pedesaan, juga menghadapi tantangan serupa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mensosialisasikan pentingnya deteksi dini dalam tumbuh kembang anak pada anak usia dini kepada masyarakat Desa Kemingking. Melalui kolaborasi dengan mitra lokal, kami berupaya meningkatkan pemahaman orang tua dan pengasuh tentang tanda-tanda perkembangan anak yang sehat dan pentingnya intervensi dini. Kolaborasi dilakukan dengan pemerintah desa, guru, dan tokoh masyarakat untuk menyusun program sosialisasi yang efektif. Metode pengabdian mencakup penyuluhan kelompok, sesi tanya jawab interaktif, dan distribusi materi pendidikan. Hasil perolehan dari pengabdian ini adalah sebesar 90 % peserta dari kalangan orang tua menyatakan paham mengenai materi yang disampaikan dengan adanya pengabdian ini. Program ini dirancang untuk dilaksanakan secara berkelanjutan guna mencapai sebanyak mungkin orang tua untuk dapat melakukan deteksi dini terhadap perkembangan anak.

Abstract

Peneltian ini didorong oleh kurang optimalnya perkembangan kognitif anak. Masalah tersebut terjadi pada tahun pelajaran 2023/2024 di kelas A TK Berkah Kota Jambi. Salah satunya adalah masih ada anak yang belum memahami konsep bilangan. Untuk mengukur peningkatan pemahaman bilangan melalui pembelajaran bermain dengan menggunakan media alam yaitu batu pada anak usia 4-5 tahun di kelompok A TK Berkah Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan jumlah anak sebanyak 12 orang. Informasi berasal dari observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep bilangan pada anak usia 4-5 tahun di TK Berkah Kota Jambi. Hasil Penelitian setelah tindakan kelas pada siklus II telah mencapai skor rata-rata 88% pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep bilangan berada pada kategori baik.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the speaking ability of 5-6 year old children in Raudhatul Athfal Alaika, Kemingking Dalam Village, Taman Rajo District, Muaro Jambi Regency, by using a demonstration method based on animated videos. This method involves teachers showing certain steps directly in front of children, so that the learning process becomes more interactive and enjoyable. The main challenge faced in teaching is the lack of interesting methods, which results in children feeling bored and having difficulty understanding the subject matter. The research design uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach with two cycles, each cycle includes the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through careful observation of children's participation and responses during the learning process. The data were then analyzed using the average test and learning completeness to measure the improvement in children's speaking ability. The results of the pre-cycle showed that only 10 children were included in the BSH category in answering questions and constructing simple sentences, with a distribution of values ​​consisting of 4 children in the BB category, 5 children in the MB category, and 1 child in the BSB category in expressing ideas. After cycle I, all children showed improvement, entering the MB and BSH categories in each language skill indicator. In cycle II, all children achieved the BSB criteria, were able to answer more complex questions, express ideas better, and understand the concepts contained in the storybook. The conclusion of this study shows that the animated video-based demonstration method is very effective in improving children's speaking skills, expanding vocabulary, and providing an understanding of language use in a more real context. This method also creates a fun learning atmosphere, so that children are more motivated to actively participate in learning

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the self-confidence of young children at Taman Kanak-Kanak Islam Ahsan in Jambi City through the application of role-playing methods. Based on initial observations conducted on January 15-19, 2024, it was found that aspects of self-confidence development, including self-belief, Tidak mudah putus asam, objectivity, responsibility, and rationality, were still underdeveloped. Among the 12 children observed, all showed a lack of self-confidence (100%), 10 children were less Tidak mudah putus asatic (80%), only 5 children demonstrated objectivity and responsibility (40% each), and 7 children displayed rational and realistic thinking (60%). This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis & McTaggart model with a cycle-based approach involving planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results indicated that implementing the role-playing method effectively increased the children’s self-confidence. Throughout Cycles I and II, there was a noticeable increase in the number of children categorized as "Developing Well" and "Developing Very Well." By the second session of Cycle II, 75% of the children demonstrated positive developments in self-confidence aspects. These findings suggest that the role-playing method is not only effective in boosting self-confidence but also supports social and emotional growth in young children, positively impacting the quality of education at Taman Kanak-Kanak Islam Ahsan in Jambi City.

Abstract

General Background: Early childhood education is a critical foundation for character development and readiness for formal schooling. Specific Background: One essential competence to be cultivated is independence, which reflects children’s confidence and responsibility in daily tasks. Knowledge Gap: Although prior studies have examined independence in young learners, limited attention has been given to how teachers systematically foster independence through structured daily practices in specific PAUD institutions. Aim: This study aimed to describe the role of teachers in fostering independence among children aged 5–6 years at PAUD Teratai Putih Muaro Jambi. Results: Findings revealed that 75% of children were able to eat independently, 65% could tidy up toys, and 85% could wear shoes without assistance. Teachers acted as facilitators, motivators, and guides by applying consistent routines, gradual guidance, and positive reinforcement. Novelty: The study highlights how practical strategies in everyday routines can effectively stimulate independence, with contextual insights from a local PAUD setting. Implications: These findings emphasize the importance of teacher creativity and collaboration with parents in developing children’s autonomy, providing a useful reference for early childhood educators and policymakers. Abstract

Jagung merupakan salah satu pangan lokal yang kaya karbohidrat, protein, vitamin, dan mineral, sehingga berpotensi mendukung peningkatan status gizi anak. Namun, pemanfaatannya di masyarakat masih terbatas, terutama di wilayah yang lebih mengandalkan beras sebagai makanan pokok. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kesadaran masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan jagung sebagai sumber pangan bergizi. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi, demonstrasi pengolahan jagung, dan pendampingan partisipatif kepada warga di Desa Bakung Muaro Sebo Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dimulai dengan sosialisasi mengenai pentingnya gizi anak dan manfaat jagung bagi kesehatan. Tahap berikutnya adalah penyiapan lahan bersama warga, diikuti penanaman jagung sebagai upaya pemberdayaan dan kemandirian pangan. Setelah panen, masyarakat diberikan pelatihan pengolahan jagung menjadi berbagai menu sehat, salah satunya bubur jagung yang disajikan langsung kepada anak-anak sebagai contoh pemanfaatan. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan melalui pengamatan partisipasi warga, peningkatan pengetahuan, dan respon anak terhadap produk olahan. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan gizi, keterampilan mengolah jagung, serta antusiasme anak dalam mengonsumsi olahan tersebut. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pemanfaatan jagung sebagai pangan lokal tidak hanya berperan dalam peningkatan gizi anak, tetapi juga mendukung ketahanan pangan berkelanjutan di tingkat desa.

Abstract

General Background: Literacy in early childhood is a fundamental aspect that supports language, cognitive, and social development. Specific Background: However, many kindergarten-aged children face limited stimulation, and reading activities are often less engaging due to lack of supportive media. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have examined early literacy practices, but few have explored the practical role of reading corners in kindergarten settings. Aims: This study aims to describe the implementation of reading corners and their contribution to improving literacy skills among children aged 5–6 years at TK Negeri 05 Mekarsari. Results: The findings indicate that the reading corner facilitated significant improvements in children’s abilities to recognize letters, increase vocabulary, and retell stories. Novelty: This study highlights the contextual application of reading corners as an effective literacy environment that stimulates children’s motivation and active participation. Implications: The results suggest that reading corners can be optimized as a simple yet impactful strategy in early childhood education, emphasizing the importance of teacher creativity and parental involvement in strengthening literacy culture from an early age. Abstract

General Background: Early childhood cognitive development requires concrete and engaging media to stimulate thinking and problem-solving skills. Specific Background: In many preschools, low-cost and recyclable materials have not been fully utilized to optimize children’s learning experiences. Knowledge Gap: Limited studies have specifically investigated the role of bottle cap media in supporting multiple aspects of cognitive development. Aim: This study explores how bottle cap media contributes to the improvement of cognitive abilities in children aged 5–6 years at TK Pertiwi IX Kota Jambi. Results: Using a qualitative descriptive approach with 15 children and 2 teachers, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Findings show that 80% of children demonstrated significant progress in recognizing colors (87%), grouping shapes (73%), counting objects (80%), and matching letters or numbers (67%). Novelty: The study highlights the innovative use of bottle caps as an accessible, sustainable, and enjoyable learning medium. Implications: The results suggest that recycled materials like bottle caps can effectively support early childhood education by enhancing cognitive skills while promoting creativity and environmental awareness. Highlights: Bottle caps foster color, shape, number, and symbol recognition. 80% of children showed overall cognitive improvement. Recycled media provides sustainable and engaging learning tools.
