Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the School Field Introduction Program (PLP II) in improving the competencies of education students. PLP II is a field practice program designed to provide real experiences for prospective teacher students in understanding the learning process, classroom management, educational administration, and school culture. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation during the implementation of PLP II in partner schools. The results showed that the implementation of PLP II had a positive impact on improving students’ pedagogical, professional, social, and personality competencies. Students became more skilled in preparing learning tools, conducting teaching and learning activities, using instructional media, and establishing good communication with teachers and students. In addition, PLP II helped students understand real challenges in the educational environment, thereby shaping professional attitudes and responsibilities as prospective educators. Therefore, the PLP II program is considered effective in supporting the development of education students’ competencies to better prepare them for future careers in the field of education.
