Abstract

This study aimed to determine the implementation of sensorimotor play in improving the learning concentration of B2 class children at Dorkas Nunhila Christian Kindergarten. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with teachers as the research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing using technique triangulation. The results showed that the implementation of sensorimotor play was carried out through three stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. Planning was the process of preparing teaching modules systematically and purposefully as a guide for learning activities. Implementation was the process of applying all planned learning activities according to the intended objectives. Evaluation was conducted by the teacher through initial assessment, collecting children's work, anecdotal notes, and checklists. The implementation of sensorimotor play helped improve children's learning concentration so that children became more focused and able to participate in learning activities better.

Abstract

The importance of developing critical thinking skills in early childhood has been widely discussed in educational theory. However, in practice, many early childhood education institutions still apply conventional learning methods such as memorization and an emphasis on basic literacy and numeracy. Therefore, a deep learning approach is needed, whose implementation highly depends on teachers’ ability to plan learning activities systematically, purposefully, and in accordance with children’s developmental needs. This study aimed to describe the planning of deep learning in daily learning activities at TK Solideo Maulafa. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving one principal and three classroom teachers. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through technique triangulation and source triangulation. The results showed that deep learning planning at TK Solideo Maulafa was implemented through four main indicators: (1) identifying students’ readiness, material characteristics, and graduate profiles; (2) designing learning objectives and learning frameworks including pedagogical practices, partnerships, learning environments, and the use of digital technology; (3) designing learning experiences based on the principles of mindfulness, meaningfulness, and joyful learning through the stages of understanding, applying, and reflecting; and (4) conducting formative and summative assessments outlined in the Deep Learning Lesson Plan (RPM). This study indicates that deep learning planning at TK Solideo Maulafa has been implemented systematically in accordance with the Academic Manuscript of Deep Learning by the Indonesian Ministry of Education (2025), and it may serve as a reference for other early childhood education institutions.

Abstract

Parenting plays a crucial role in early childhood development. In the digital era, parenting also involves regulating children’s gadget use. Inappropriate gadget use can negatively affect children’s development, thus necessitating parental supervision and guidance. This study aims to describe parenting patterns in gadget use among children aged 4-6 years in Dusun 3, Bokasape Timur Village, Wolowaru District, Ende Regency. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, and their validity was ensured using source triangulation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal three parenting styles applied: democratic, authoritarian, and permissive. Authoritarian parents tend to impose strict rules on gadget use, whereas permissive parents grant excessive freedom with minimal supervision. In contrast, democratic parents balance rules with children’s needs by providing guidance and selecting educational content. Each parenting style has its own strengths and limitations; therefore, the application of parenting in managing gadget use should be adapted to the child’s characteristics.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning concentration of children aged 4–5 years at TK St. Yoseph Naikoten II Kupang, as indicated by several children who had difficulty maintaining attention during learning activities. The study aimed to describe teachers' classroom management skills in improving children's learning concentration. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The participants consisted of two Class A1 teachers and seven children aged 4–5 years. Data were collected through non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through technique triangulation, while data were analyzed through data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that teachers demonstrated good classroom management skills through physical classroom management, time management, interaction management, behavior management, and the creation of a positive emotional atmosphere. These practices supported children's learning concentration, which was reflected in their ability to pay attention to learning materials, respond to teachers' instructions, apply acquired knowledge, express ideas or opinions, demonstrate interest in learning activities, and remain engaged throughout the learning process. The study concludes that teachers' classroom management skills play an important role in improving the learning concentration of children aged 4–5 years by creating a conducive learning environment. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of teachers in enhancing the creativity of early childhood Group B at Tat Twam Asi Kindergarten, Maulafa District, Kupang City. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects in this study were two class B teachers, and the validity of the data was tested through source technical triangulation. The results of the study show that teachers play a role through four aspects, namely as facilitators, mediators, inspirators, and models. (1) As facilitators, teachers prepare RPPH, learning media, loose part materials, and organize a learning environment that is safe and support children's exploration. (2) As mediators, teachers use stories, songs, imaginative games, and media that are appropriate to the theme and characteristics of children. (3) As inspirators, teachers provide praise, encouragement, and a comfortable learning atmosphere so that children dare to try new things. (4) As models, teachers provide direct examples in learning activities, making it easier for children to understand the steps involved and encouraging them to create. The conclusion of this study is that the teacher's role when effectively implemented through interconnected practices can help enhance the creativity of early childhood learners. However, initial observations also revealed that some children's creativity has not yet developed optimally; therefore, the teacher's role is crucial in creating learning experiences that are meaningful, varied, enjoyable, and child centered.
