Abstract

Senang Hati Village is one of the developing villages in Malingping Sub-district, Lebak Regency, Banten Province, where the majority of the population is young. Unfortunately, the difficult road conditions in the village mean that young people are less interested in pursuing formal education as high as possible. In addition, the highest public school in Senang Hati Village is only up to junior high school level, so their knowledge and skills are very limited. This also makes the youth of Senang Hati Village lack a sense of responsibility and concern for their village. In fact, the progress of Senang Hati villagse is in the hands of these young people. Departing from the situation analysis, the Community Service Team (PkM) of the Universitas Terbuka (UT) Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) lecturers provided training and assistance in making promotional media that could improve youth skills. These skills can become new jobs for young people so that Senang Hati Village can develop. Training and mentoring is carried out offline and online using Canva. The results of the training and mentoring showed that the youth of Senang Hati Village began to be able to use the Canva application properly. Now they have the initial skills that can support various village promotions and generate income, both for the village and for themselves. The training and mentoring can be continued until the youth of Senang Hati Village.

Abstract

This study examined the influence of Entrepreneurial Good University Governance (EGUG) on Service Performance (SEV), Financial Performance (FIN), and Sustainability Performance (SUS), with Leadership Style (LS) as a mediating variable in State University of Public Service Agency (SU-PSA) in Indonesia. A quantitative approach was applied, involving 64 respondents, and data were analyzed using the SEM-PLS method. The findings revealed that EGUG significantly impacted service, financial, and sustainability performance. Leadership style also had a substantial effect, partially mediating the relationship between EGUG and performance outcomes. EGUG influence on performance was both direct and indirect through leadership style. The novelty of this study lies in extending Good University Governance to include EGUG, which fosters innovation, financial sustainability, and public service. Practical examples, such as the Bandung Institute of Technology, illustrate how entrepreneurial governance enhances financial independence and strengthens industry ties. Similar models have been adopted in the United States and Europe, where entrepreneurial governance supports academic excellence and contributes to regional economic development. This approach offers a flexible governance model for other institutions to address their unique challenges. However, the relatively small sample size of 64 respondents limits the generalizability of the findings. The specific focus on SU-PSA under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology may not fully represent other university types. Future studies should expand the sample and include a broader range of universities to enhance the robustness and applicability of the results.

Abstract

The implementation of Good University Governance (GUG) in higher education institutions has an impact on the performance of the respective institutions. GUG is a system that regulates and controls higher education institutions to create added value, benefiting all stakeholders. The objective of this research is to compile a systematic literature review scientifically, starting from data collection, selection, reading, and finally data analysis. This analysis relates to the study of GUG implementation's impact on higher education performance. The research method used in this study is a systematic literature review (SLR) approach on journal papers published from 2019 to 2023. There are three Research Questions (RQs) and three Quality Assessments (QAs) defined in this study. The impact of GUG on the performance of higher education institutions is positive and significant. The findings indicate that studies from 2019 to 2023 on the impact of GUG on performance have predominantly been conducted in public universities, using SEM PLS data analysis methods, with the "transparency" variable being the most frequently used GUG principle. Moreover, the results demonstrate that GUG implementation positively influences the performance of higher education institutions. The managerial implications of this research support Permendikbud No 4 of 2020 regarding the transformation of state universities (PTN) into state universities with legal entity status (PTNBH). Article 2 states that one of the requirements for PTN to become PTNBH is to manage the organization based on GUG principles. Thus, this research provides insights for regulators in measuring the implementation of GUG.

Abstract

This community service program, implemented using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, aims to assist students in developing their micro-enterprises to become more professional, efficient, and sustainable. The program responds to the challenges faced by student entrepreneurs, ranging from business management and marketing to product development. Implementation methods included participatory needs identification, provision of targeted resources, tailored training in business management and digital marketing, infrastructure enhancement, and ongoing participatory evaluation. The results demonstrate significant progress among the three mentored student businesses. Ayam Geprek Bunda increased sales by 100% through facility upgrades and online marketing strategies. The Beaded Handicrafts business recorded a 233% revenue growth after design innovation and digital marketing initiatives. Meanwhile, Peyek Bude achieved a 35% sales increase through community-based marketing strategies and improved packaging quality. This program has proven effective in enhancing managerial capacity, business income, and awareness of professional business practices. The findings underscore the importance of sustained entrepreneurial mentoring within campus environments as a strategy to empower students, while fostering positive social impact through the emergence of young, inspirational leaders in entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This study explores the transformation of Indonesian state universities with legal entity status into entrepreneurial universities, using the OECD Guiding Framework for Entrepreneurial Universities as an analytical lens. Through an exploratory qualitative approach, it investigates institutional strategies, structures, and internal dynamics that shape innovation ecosystems. The study focuses on four universities—Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), IPB University, the University of Indonesia (UI), and Airlangga University—as case examples. The key finding highlights that while all four institutions have initiated entrepreneurial transformation, the degree of maturity varies significantly. IPB University exhibits the most comprehensive integration of entrepreneurial principles, particularly in research-based entrepreneurship. UI and ITB show substantial progress in innovation commercialization and industry collaboration, while Airlangga University is still in the early stages of ecosystem development. These differences illustrate how institutional context influences the pace and direction of transformation. A unique contribution of this research lies in its contextualized application of the OECD framework to Indonesian universities, offering practical insights into how global models can be adapted to national higher education settings. Strategic leadership, internal governance, and triple helix collaboration emerge as pivotal drivers of entrepreneurial transformation. Despite its insights, the study is limited by its focus on only four universities, which may not represent the full diversity of legal-entity universities in Indonesia. Future research should include broader samples and explore longitudinal changes to better understand the sustainability and scalability of entrepreneurial transitions in higher education.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of talent management on employee performance and employee ambidexterity at Universitas Terbuka. The research involved 164 respondents, consisting of lecturers and educational staff. The sample profile indicates that the majority of respondents are aged between 26 and 35, with 54% being female. Educational background data reveal that 69% hold a master’s degree, while 5% have a doctoral degree. The study employed Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to assess the validity, reliability, and structural relationships among variables. Convergent validity was evaluated using outer loading values and Average Variance Extracted (AVE), confirming that the indicators of talent management, employee ambidexterity, and employee performance meet the validity requirements. Discriminant validity was tested using the Fornell-Larcker criterion, ensuring that each construct is distinct from others. Reliability tests, measured through composite reliability and Cronbach’s Alpha, demonstrate that all constructs exhibit high internal consistency. The structural model analysis, including F-square, R-square, and adjusted R-square, shows that talent management significantly influences employee ambidexterity (R² = 0.622) and moderately affects employee performance (R² = 0.355). Path analysis using bootstrapping confirms the direct and indirect effects of talent management on employee ambidexterity and performance, highlighting the importance of talent management in enhancing workforce capabilities. This research provides valuable insights into human resource strategies within higher education institutions, emphasizing the role of effective talent management in improving employee adaptability and overall performance. Future studies should explore additional mediating factors to further understand the dynamics between talent management and organizational outcomes.
