Abstract

Excessive sugar consumption, primarily through sugar-sweetened beverages, has been linked to the occurrence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The Ministry of Health of Indonesia recommends that the maximum sugar consumption for the general population not exceed 50 g per day. One type of sugar-sweetened beverage that has been massively distributed in Indonesia is ready-to-drink (RTD) tea and coffee. This study examined the energy and sugar content of the RTD coffee and tea marketed in the modern retail market and their contribution to the Indonesian recommended dietary allowance. This study was conducted in June 2022. Ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee and tea were purchased from five supermarkets and three minimarkets in South Tangerang City, Banten, Indonesia. Data obtained from the product label was recorded and then analysed descriptively. 47 coffee (17 brands) and 58 tea (20 brands) products were obtained during the survey. Most coffee (55.3%) and tea (86.2%) products are distributed in plastic bottles. The median serving size of coffee (240 mL) is slightly smaller than that of tea (250 mL). On average, one serving size of coffee and tea products contributes to 35.7% and 34.8% of the recommended dietary allowance of sugar, respectively. Consumers are advised to take caution while consuming RTD coffee and tea products as they might contribute to excessive sugar consumption. The government must impose regulations to limit sugar content in food and beverage products and increase consumer education to reduce sugar consumption, especially sugar-sweetened products.

Abstract

Hipertensi tidak hanya mempengaruhi lansia, tetapi juga dapat terjadi pada kelompok usia dewasa. Hal ini dibuktikan oleh data prevalensi hipertensi pada kelompok usia dewasa di Indonesia yang menunjukkan peningkatan setiap tahunnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian hipertensi pada pasien dewasa di Puskesmas Karawaci Baru tahun 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional dengan melibatkan 122 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Variabel yang diteliti meliputi usia, riwayat keluarga, jenis kelamin, konsumsi natrium, status merokok, kualitas tidur, stres, obesitas sentral, dan aktivitas fisik. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis univariat dan uji regresi logistik. Proporsi hipertensi pada penelitian ini adalah 53,3%. Hasil analisis regresi logistik menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian hipertensi di Puskesmas Karawaci Baru tahun 2024 yaitu riwayat keluarga (AOR = 3,132), jenis kelamin (AOR = 3,156), obesitas sentral (AOR = 3,083), merokok (AOR = 2,867), stres (AOR = 3,115), dan aktivitas fisik (AOR = 2,623). Sebagai bagian dari pencegahan dan penanganan hipertensi, pasien dewasa disarankan untuk rutin memeriksakan kesehatan, berhenti merokok, berolahraga, menjaga pola makan, cukup istirahat, dan mengelola stres. Puskesmas diharapkan meningkatkan upaya pencegahan dengan memaksimalkan program pos pembinaan terpadu di wilayah sekitar untuk memantau dan memberikan edukasi tentang faktor risiko hipertensi.

Abstract

Prevalensi obesitas di Indonesia terus meningkat, termasuk di kalangan penduduk usia >18 tahun, dengan kenaikan sebesar 1,6% pada tahun 2023 dibandingkan 2018. Mahasiswa merupakan kelompok yang rentan mengalami masalah gizi akibat pola makan yang tidak sehat, termasuk konsumsi ultra-processed food (UPF). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara konsumsi UPF dengan status gizi mahasiswa Program Studi Kesehatan Masyarakat Fakultas Ilmu Kesehatan UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta tahun 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi cross-sectional yang dilakukan pada November-Desember 2024 dengan 120 subjek yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Variabel konsumsi UPF diukur menggunakan kuesioner food frequency questionnaire (FFQ), sedangkan variabel status gizi diukur berdasarkan skor indeks massa tubuh (IMT) yang dihitung dari tinggi dan berat badan subjek. Analisis menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman. Rata-rata frekuensi konsumsi UPF subjek adalah sebanyak 6 kali per hari, 53,2% subjek menyatakan bahwa akses terhadap UPF di lingkungan tempat tinggal mereka sangat mudah, dan 68,9% subjek membeli UPF dengan alasan praktis dan cepat disajikan. Uji korelasi Spearman menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi UPF tidak memiliki hubungan signifikan dengan status gizi mahasiswa (p-value=0,160; r= 0,129).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the factors factors associated with knowledge, attitudes and behavior of the application of eating manners according to the Qur'an and Sunnah. This research is a quantitative study using a cross sectional study design. The inclusion criteria of the subject were adult moslem aged 19-59 years old, reside in urban area, and able to read and write. The subject were 111 education staff at the UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, South Tangerang City, Indonesia. The data collection was conducted by filling out an online questionnaire using Google Form application. Results shows that most of the respondents had a fairly good level of knowledge (75.7%), attitudes (53.2%), and behavior (55.9%) regarding eating etiquette according to the Qur’an and Sunnah. The level of education was related to the knowledge (p-value = 0.027), attitudes (p-value = 0.005), and behavior (p-value = 0.023) of respondents’ eating etiquette. Marital status was related to respondents' attitudes on eating etiquette (p-value = 0.012). There is no relationship between respondents' knowledge and attitudes with their eating etiquette practice (p-value > 0.05). The university is recommended to provide education regarding eating etiquette according to the Qur’an and Sunnah, especially to employees with lower education level.
