Abstract

This study aimed to find out the self-confidence difference between the active and inactive students scout. This was a comparative study with 100 samples taken by using simple random sampling technique. The instrument used in this study is a self-confidence questionnaire. This study employed independent sample t-test to analyze the data. The result of this study showed that the difference of self-confidence on active and inactive student scout in SMPN 5 Kota Jambi through t count was 3,868 > t table 2,022. In other words, there was a difference of self-confidence on the students who actively participated in Scout and those who did not. The result of this study is recommended for the school counselor to assist the students with low self-confidence.

Abstract

The purpose of the research to conduct a external criterion related validity of Health Sciences Component of Indonesian Interest Test. Attitude toward Subject scale as an external criterion with a good psychometric properties. The subjects consisted of new students faculty of medicine and health sciences The University of Jambi N=461. There was a positive relationship with Biology рxy= 0.173 (p=0.001;p<0.05) and Chemistery рxy= 0.148 (p=0.001;p<0.05). There was a negative correlation with Economics рxy= -0.112 (p=0.016; p<0.05), Sociology рxy=-0.161 (p=0.001; p<0.05), Geography рxy=-0.171 (p=0.001; p<0.05). There was no correlation with Religion, Civics, Indonesian, English, Mathematics, Physics and History. IIT was supported with criterion related validity, it had a high power to diagnosis student interest. It could be used for high school majoring, university majoring and learning material. The next research to conduct group validity with university program and personality.

Abstract

Introduction The purpose of this article to give understanding about reliability of psychological measurement with the emperical data. The data used attitude toward chemistery scale from Charles Osgood theory. Method It used semantic differensial format and continuum of score of item 1-7 with three items. It explained internal consistency, parallel test, test retest and composite score. There were N=278 subejcts from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences The University of Jambi. Result The internal consistency method used four technique with reliability coeffiecent r=0.717 to 0.824. the parallel test reliability showed equivalency coeffiecient rxx t retest reliability with rx1x2 = 0.754. Score composite reliability attitude toward Mathematics and Sciences showed r=0.914. Conclusions The reliability analysis showed the good result, the data could be used in psychometric lecturing, validate other test, and the scale for the practical usage. Keywords: reliability, parallel test, test retest, internal consistency, true score Abstrak Pendahuluan Artikel bertujuan memberikan pehahaman teknik reliabilitas pengukuran psikologi dengan data empirik. Data menggunakan skala sikap terhadap pelajaran Kimia dari teori sikap Charles Osgood. Metode Aitem menggunakan format penskalaan sematik differensial 1-7 dan berjumlah 3 aitem. Reliabilitas dijelaskan berupa konsistensi internal, tes paralel, tes ulang dan skor komposit. Subjek penelitian sebanyak N=278 dari mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran dan Ilmu Kesehatan Universitas Jambi. Hasil Empat teknik reliabilitas konsistensi internal menghasilkan koefisien r=0.717 s.d. 0.824. Uji reliabiltas tes paralel menghasilkan koefisien ekivalensi sebesar rxx Uji reliabilitas tes ulang menghasilkan koefisien stabilitas rx1x2 =0.754. Uji reliabilitas skor komposit dalam skala Sikap terhadap pelajaran Matematika dan Sains r=0,914. Kesimpulan Hasil uji reliabilitas menunjukkan hasil memuaskan sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai data perkuliahan Psikometri, uji validiasi alat ukur lain, maupun kegunaan praktis. Abstract

This study explores the meaning of forgiveness within the sirih pinang tradition as a cultural mechanism for conflict resolution in the Arab-Malay community of Seberang, Jambi City. Using a qualitative phenomenological method, the research examines the lived experiences of a traditional leader and a family member of a conflict perpetrator. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Findings reveal nine key themes, including symbolic meanings, ritual functions, stages of reconciliation, and the interplay between customary and formal law. The tradition emphasizes sincerity, moral responsibility, and mutual agreement, expressed through cultural symbols such as white cloth and ritual offerings. However, this study is limited by the small number of participants and its focus on a specific cultural setting, which may affect the transferability of the findings to other communities or conflict contexts. Despite these limitations, the study highlights sirih pinang as a culturally embedded form of forgiveness both social and spiritual rooted in local wisdom and communal values.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Calon wisudawan Psikologi kerap mengalami kesulitan pada tahap wawancara kerja akibat minimnya pengalaman, pemahaman teknik menjawab, dan rendahnya kepercayaan diri. Pelatihan praktis yang terarah masih terbatas di lingkungan akademik. Tujuan: Mengetahui efektivitas pelatihan singkat dalam meningkatkan kesiapan menghadapi wawancara kerja. Metode: Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan pada 5 Agustus 2025 melalui sesi sharing bersama Fadzlul, M.Psi., Psikolog, diikuti 12 peserta. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah studi kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan diskusi interaktif dan simulasi wawancara. Hasil: Seluruh peserta menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman teknik menjawab pertanyaan wawancara dan peningkatan kepercayaan diri. Peserta mampu merumuskan jawaban lebih terstruktur serta mengidentifikasi kekuatan diri. Kesimpulan: Pelatihan singkat dan terfokus efektif meningkatkan kesiapan kerja. Program serupa perlu dikembangkan secara berkelanjutan dengan evaluasi kuantitatif lanjutan.
