Abstract

Students are required to be flexible and responsive learners in the midst of uncertainty and changes in global situations. Learning agility in college students allows new students to adapt and create new values when they are in ambiguous situations. Therefore, a valid learning agility instrument is needed so that the adaptation of the measuring instrument to the instrument proposed by Gravett and Caldwell (2016) is carried out to test the learning agility measuring instrument for new students by implying four dimensions, namely people agility, change agility, results agility, and mental agility. The participants of this study were 222 new students of the Faculty of Psychology, Syarif Hidayatullah Islamic State University Jakarta. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used as a data processing method with the help of Lisrel 8.80 software. Based on CFA analysis, it can be concluded that there are two items dropped because they are not significant in measuring the dimensions of learning agility. Abstract

Pets play a significant role in their owners' lives. Psychological studies have found that pet loss is one of the contributing factors to depression. The grieving response experienced by pet owners following the loss of their pets is referred to as pet bereavement. This study aims to examine the influence of pet attachment, self-compassion, and social constraint on pet bereavement. This research employs a quantitative approach with a sample of 250 individuals who have experienced pet loss and reside in Indonesia. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling. The Pet Bereavement Questionnaire (PBQ) developed by Hunt & Padilla (2006) was used to measure pet bereavement, the Lexington Attachment to Pet Scale (LAPS) developed by Johnson et al. (1992) was used to assess pet attachment. Self-compassion was measured using the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) developed by Neff (2003), and social constraint was assessed using the Social Constraint Scale developed by Lepore et al. (1996). Data analysis was conducted using multiple regression analysis. The regression test results showed an R-squared value of .727, indicating that pet attachment, self-compassion, and social constraint significantly influence pet bereavement, accounting for 72.7% of the variance. The significance test results revealed that three variables had a significant impact on pet bereavement: general attachment (p < .05), people substituting (p < .05), and gender (p < .05). Based on these findings, it is recommended that pet owners develop a healthy attachment to their pets and engage with animal lover communities to receive social support during times of loss.

This research involved 240 students from boarding schools in Bandung. The sampling technique used in this study is non probability sampling. The questionnaires for measuring happiness using OHI (Oxford Happiness Inventory), religious orientation using ROS (Religious Orientation Scale), hardiness using hardiness scale (how hardy are you?), and quality of friendship using MFQ FF (Mcgrill Friendship Questionnaire - Friend’s Functions). Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used to test the validity of each item in the questionnaire from LISREL8.7 software. While statistical testing using multiple regression analysis of SPSS 17 software. Based on the results of the data analysis, there was a significant influence of religious orientation, hardiness, and quality of friendship on students' happiness.

Abstract

Abstract

Online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic has reduced student engagement in learning. In fact, students will have good achievements and online learning will be effective when students engage in learning. The purpose of this study was to find out the factors that influence students engagement in online learning among junior high school students. The variables used in this study are self-regulated learning and parent involvement. The study used a quantitative approach involving 295 junior high school students who did online learning. Sampling was taken by convenience sampling technique. The measuring instrument used was the student engagement scale in online school, the scale from Toering et al (2012) and the Parental Involvement Mechanism Measurement. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, the first conclusion is that there is a significant relation between self-regulated learning & parent involvement and student engagement in online learning. Furthermore, the variables with significant coefficient values are planning, efforts and self-efficacy. Based on study results, teachers are suggested to provide explanation and insight for students so that students can have a plan in doing assignments. For students, it is advisable to put more efforts into understanding the lessons and discipline in doing assignments so that they are more attached to the school.
