Abstract

Pembelajaran keterampilan klinis selama tahap akademik dan Objective Structural Clinical Examination (OSCE) dengan metode simulasi berbeda dengan situasi yang nyata terhadap pasien pada tahap Profesi. Penelitian ini bertujuan membuktikan pengaruh pembelajaran dan penilaian keterampilan klinis yang dinilai menggunakan perubahan persepsi kesiapan melakukan keterampilan klinis sebelum dan sesudah menjalani kepaniteraan umum dibandingkan ketika menjalani tahap Profesi. Studi Kohort dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuisioner persepsi tingkat kesiapan mahasiswa melakukan keterampilan klinis yang diberikan sebelum, setelah Panum dan saat awal Profesi. Jumlah responden dalam penelitian ini 126 mahasiswa Program Studi Profesi Dokter Universitas Brawijaya tahun ke-4. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan kesiapan mahasiswa dalam melakukan keterampilan klinis sebelum dengan sesudah kepaniteraan umum/Panum (35,45,5 dan 39,26,0; p<0,05), namun tidak terjadi peningkatan ataupun penurunan kesiapan sesudah Panum dengan kesiapan di awal tahap Profesi (39,26,0 dan 39,26,1; p>0,05). Tidak ada hubungan signifikan nilai OSCE Panum dengan kesiapan mahasiswa dalam melakukan keterampilan klinis di tahap Profesi melalui uji korelasi Spearman-Rho (p>0,05). Proses pembelajaran keterampilan klinis di kepaniteraan umum berpengaruh positif meningkatkan kesiapan melakukan keterampilan klinis sebelum menjalani tahap Profesi hingga awal tahap Profesi. Tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara nilai OSCE Panum dengan kesiapan mahasiswa dalam melakukan keterampilan klinis di awal tahap Profesi. Perlu di lakukan modifikasi model pembelajaran keterampilan klinis untuk meningkatkan kesiapan mahasiswa dalam melakukan keterampilan klinis pada tahap Profesi.

Abstract

Trauma kepala yang menyebabkan cedera otak berat traumatik masih menjadi penyebab kematian tertinggi dan kecacatan jangka panjang di negara berkembang. Survival pasien dapat ditingkatkan melalui ketepatan penanganan awal, mempercepat waktu prehospital dan pencegahan kejadian hipotensi. Cedera primer hampir mustahil dicegah, tetapi cedera sekunder dapat diminimalkan bahkan dicegah. EMS  (Emergency Medical Service) berperanan penting dalam menjaga jalan nafas dan perfusi jaringan, serta mencegah kerusakan organ lain. Dengan mendapatkan gambaran yang tepat tentang faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi outcome pasien trauma kepala, diharapkan diperoleh solusi yang tepat dan menyusun strategi yang holistik untuk penanganan prahospital pasien trauma kepala di Indonesia. Penelitian ini termasuk observasional analitik dengan desain kohort pada 50 subjek untuk mengkaji faktor-faktor yang memicu terjadinya cedera sekunder dan mempengaruhi nilai GOS (Glasgow Coma Scale) pada pasien trauma kepala di IGD RSUD dr. iskak tulungagung.  Analisis hasil penelitian dilakukan dengan uji chi-square atau Mann-Whitney dan dilanjutkan dengan uji regresi menggunakan SPPS versi 24. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi nilai GOS adalah usia,  mekanisme cedera, GCS masuk, kriteria perawatan, kualifikasi penolong dan intervensi awal (p < 0,05).  Sedangkan faktor jenis kelamin, jenis trauma dan durasi transpor tidak berpengaruh signifikan (p > 0,05) terhadap nilai GOS. Kesimpulannya, makin tinggi usia pasien akan meningkatkan peluang pasien memiliki nilai GOS rendah (Mati-SD).

Abstract

Low physical activity increases the number of non-communicable diseases. This phenomenon occurs in medical students. This study aimed to determine the correlation between sedentary behavior and physical activity on cognition, mental health, cortisol, and brain derived neurotropic factor (BDNF). Using a cross-sectional design of observational study, eighty-six medical students were involved in this study. The subjects were interviewed to assess cognitive function and depression levels. Saliva was taken to measure cortisol and BDNF level. Bivariate analysis was performed using the Spearman test. Depression is the only variable that correlates significantly with habitual physical activity (p=0.025, r=-0.214). Sedentary behavior has a weak correlation with cognitive failure, anxiety, and depression ([p=0.046, r=0.216]; [p=0.039, r=0.223]; [p=0.011, r=0.273]). The results found that high physical activity improves mental health and cognition. This study suggested that physical activity can alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety among medical students.

Abstract

Background: Interprofessional education (IPE) Faculty of Medicine and Health Science Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (FKIK UIN MMI) were designed based on hajj health and involved prospective pilgrims (CJH) as the target. The program’s goal was to achieve collaboration among health students and support CJH to achieve the istitha’ah condition. Thus student readiness becomes one of the success parameters. This study aims to evaluate the readiness of FKIK UIN MMI students for the hajj health-based IPE program.Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive method was used with the FKIK UIN MMI students class 2018 as the population. Students who undertook the hajj health-based IPE program in 2021 were classified in the inclusion criteria. Meanwhile, the IPE participants that did not fill out the questionnaire were excluded. The questionnaire was adopted from the Readiness for Interprofessional Learning Scale and processed with Microsoft excel.Results: The readiness of 113 students was categorized as "very ready" on the aspect of collaboration and cooperation, also on the positive professional identity subject, with readiness levels of 83.36% and 81.23%, respectively. The percentage of readiness for the negative professional identity aspect was 48.20% and categorized as "quite ready". Professional roles and responsibilities had a score of 708, and were categorized as "ready".Conclusion: FKIK UIN MMI students had a good readiness level for the hajj health-based IPE program. Further studies are needed to examine the factors that emerge as barriers to joint learning between professions. The lecturer's readiness is needed to be evaluated as well.

Abstract

Background: Typhoid fever often occurs in various countries in the world and generally occurs in countries with low levels of cleanliness. Typhoid fever is a systemic disease caused by Salmonella typhi bacterial infection. The main therapy for typhoid fever is antibiotics. The challenge of using synthetic antibiotics nowadays is the emergence of side effects of resistance. One of the plants that can be used as an antibacterial is extract of keluak seed (Pangium edule). This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of keluak seed (Pangium edule) antibacterial extract on the growth of Salmonella typhi. This research is a quantitative type of experimental research with true experimental post-test control design). Method: The method used in this study used a qualitative phytochemical test and dilution of the tube. This study uses 6 concentrations which are 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 mg/ml. Bacterial suspension was used as negative control and extract 100 mg/ml was used as positive control. Result: Based on the phytochemical test show that the seeds of the keluak seed (Pangium edule) contain alkaloids and terpenoids. The extract of keluak seed seed has a MIC at a concentration of 10 mg/ml and MKC 30 mg/ml. MKC data were analyzed by the KruskalWallis test (significance p = 0,000) with (coefficient correlation= -0,990) the relationship between the two variables is very strong. Conclusion: The extract keluak seed (Pangium edule) seeds can inhibit the growth of S. typhi bacteria.
