Abstract

Psychological development of adolescents is characterized by emotional development, independence and personal maturity. One of the characteristics of adolescent psychological maturity is marked by the interest of adolescents with the opposite sex which will later be related to building love relationships. The breakdown of a romantic relationship will sometimes have an impact on an individual's ability to survive problems and overcome self-problems, which is often referred to as resilience. Therefore, in order to increase resilience within the individual, it is necessary to have the role of emotional intelligence to assist individuals in managing emotions. The purpose of this study is to see how the relationship between emotional intelligence and the resilience of adolescents who are experiencing a breakup in Denpasar City. This study used a correlational quantitative research method involving 143 students of SMA Negeri 2 Denpasar. The sampling technique utilized in this research is a non-probability sampling method known as purposive sampling. The Pearson correlation test results establish a level of significance in this study, which is equal to 0.000 (p< 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that the variable of emotional intelligence holds a significant relationship with resilience. In addition, the correlation coefficient of the two variables is 0.559. the coefficients of emotional intelligence and resilience are positive, which indicates that there is a positive relationship between emotional intelligence and resilience, the higher the emotional intelligence, the higher the individual resilience.

Abstract

Nowadays, the number of mother worked increasingly increased either as a part-time or full time worker. In Encyclopedia of Children’s Health, working mother is a situation where a mother working outside the home to earn income in addition to taking care of children at home. The classification of working mother is a woman who has children ranging in age from 0-18 years and a workforce (Lerner, 2001). On 2001, number of working mothers in the world reached 54,3% (OECD, 2001), which is the dual role required along with current technological advances. Beside economic factors, the mother’s participation in employment is also influenced by social, political and demographic (Bower, on Reynolds et. al, 2003). In this case, self-control is important because the decision of a mother to act in the face of variety of circumstances few would least affect the atmosphere of the household itself. Awareness of the importance of self-control will make the mother trying to raise her self-control, one of which is doing Yoga exercises. This study use qualitative method and phenomenological approach, with 3 of working mother. The result show that there is an increase in the quality of self-control on working moms who do Yoga exercises seen from the aspect of behavioral control, cognitive control, decisional control and the process of Yoga asana, pranayama and meditation in the Yoga session Keywords: self-control, working mother, yoga

Abstract

The people who were infected by HIV would be very susceptible from illness, cause by the damage of the immune system. In the daily life, those people must be able to cope complex problems. Not only coping the physiological problems, but also coping the stigma and discrimination which can increase the psychological problems of people with HIV and AIDS. These complex problems will affect to the decrease of quality of life. One of the factor which has important role in quality of life is social support. Based on the background above, this research is aimed to determine the correlation between social support and quality of life on people with HIV and AIDS at Spirit Paramacitta Foundation. This research was a quantitatif research with correlation method. The sample of this research were 76 people which were choosed by cluster sampling technique. Two kind of scales, there were social support scale and quality of life scale were used to gathered the data. The data were analyzed by correlation product moment with SPSS version 17.0. The research finding showed that the value of correlation coefficient (r) was 0,666 with the significance (p) 0,000. It meant that there was a positif correlation between social support and quality of life on people with HIV and AIDS at Spirit Paramacitta Foundation. Abstract

Homosexual is an interest in feeling or in erotic, both are in predominant or exclusiveness against individuals who has a similarity in sexes violent or without involves interaction physical, while gay is term to mention man who likes fellow man as partners sexual, and have interest both in feeling or erotic, both in dominant and exclusive and also with or without any relation physical (Putri, 2013) Faithfulness is a form of behaviors that performed recurrently that will eventually become a permanent nature. Directed toward your faithfulness also means that individual in relationship was able to rely to keep commitments together, which has agreed by Cloud&Townsand (in Sari, 2008). The aim of this research is to find out the dynamics of faithfulness to gay. This research using qualitative methods by case study approach to describe the dynamics of faithfulness in gay relationship. To collecting data in this research used interview technique and used 4 subject. This research used thematic coding for analyzing data. The result of this study suggest that in a world of a gay, most individuals within it are the people who run the principle of free life, where they hang out and behaving freely without any rules that tie it. Generally the respondents in this study say that faithfulness is crucial and absolutely there are in relationship but not all gay capable of running commitment to remain faithful. Abstract

Perilaku asertif merupakan perilaku individu dalam mengekspresikan perasaan yang ada dalam pikirannya secara tegas dan jujur namun tanpa menyakiti perasaan orang lain. Perilaku asertif penting bagi individu dalam berkomunikasi guna tercapainya hubungan interpersonal yang harmonis. Faktor internal yang dapat memengaruhi munculnya perilaku asertif pada individu adalah harga diri yaitu penilaian terhadap diri serta kemampuan untuk mengelola emosi secara adaptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran harga diri dan kecerdasan emosional terhadap perilaku asertif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 120 orang yang merupakan mahasiswa aktif Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Udayana. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala perilaku asertif, skala harga diri, dan skala kecerdasan emosional. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah regresi berganda. Hasil uji regresi berganda menunjukkan nilai koefisien regresi sebesar 0,536, nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,287 dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p<0.05) dengan koefisien beta terstandarisasi pada variabel harga diri sebesar 0,390 dan kecerdasan emosional sebesar 0,267. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa harga diri dan kecerdasan emosional secara bersama-sama berperan dalam meningkatkan perilaku asertif pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Udayana. Abstract

Motivasi adalah suatu dorongan yang menyebabkan individu bergerak untuk mencapai suatu hal yang diinginkan. Pendidikan SMA saat ini menggunakan sistem full day school dengan durasi waktu yang lebih lama menekankan pentingnya motivasi belajar siswa. Motivasi setiap individu berbeda-beda dilihat dari tingkat prestasi yang dimiliki masing-masing siswa, baik laki-laki dan perempuan. Pengalaman pada awal tahun kehidupan dan adanya harapan dari orangtua merupakan faktor yang memengaruhi motivasi siswa. Urutan kelahiran yang dianggap sebagai sistem sosial pertama bagi anak dalam lingkungan keluarga menyebabkan adanya perbedaan masing-masing karakter yang dimiliki oleh anak dan memengaruhi motivasi belajarnya sesuai dengan bagaimana perbedaan harapan yang diberikan oleh orangtua kepada anaknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana perbedaan dan pengaruh jenis kelamin dan urutan kelahiran terhadap motivasi belajar siswa dengan sistem full day school. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan subjek sejumlah 240 remaja pada rentang usia 15– 18 tahun dan tengah menempuh pendidikan di SMAN 1 Tabanan yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah skala motivasi belajar yang telah diuji validitasnya, dengan reliabilitas 0,917. Metode analisis data menggunakan analisis two way anova menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,032 (p<0,05) artinya terdapat perbedaan motivasi ditinjau dari jenis kelamin dan urutan kelahiran. Abstract

Dating is a process of exploration and investigation of individuals in an intimate relationship. Having a relationship has a positive impact, but also has negative effects, one of which is abusive dating relationship. In an abusive dating relationship, women can choose to leave or stay in the relationship. A women’s decision to stay on the relationship caused by various factors. This research aimed to discover factors behind women’s decision to stay in abusive dating, utilizing a qualitative approach with a case study method. The sampling method used in this research is purposive sampling method. The respondents on this research were three women aged 21-23 years old who have been dating for more than one year and are staying in the abusive dating relationship. The results showed that commitment, cognitive bias, social support, relationship satisfaction, and positive reinforcement were factors behind women’s decision to stay on abusive dating relationship.

Abstract

Bali is full of rituals and ceremonies in every activity that exists. Kerauhan is a phenomenon that is very close to the Balinese Hindu community. Unfortunately, people often only associate this phenomenon with negative things such as being possessed by a demon or wandering spirits. In a different view, this phenomenon is believed to be a symbol of God's presence. This causes kerauhan to become increasingly complex for the public to understand. Kerauhan experienced by a person has a psychological impact on their life. The perceived impact affects the individual's self-concept, namely how certain beliefs, views, attitudes, and evaluations an individual has of them self. This research aims to describe the psychological dynamics and self-concept of adolescents who often experienced kerauhan. This research uses a qualitative method with a multicase study approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. The respondents for this research are 3 women and 2 men who were in the adolescent phase and often experienced kerauhan in Hindu religious ceremonies in Bali. Collecting data using a semi-structured interview method. Meanwhile, the data analysis used in this research is thematic analysis. The results showed that most respondents accepted the experience of kerauhan because they thought that kerauhan was a gift from God, the respondents had a good understanding of what they wanted to be and the social role they played, and all respondents had a tendency to have positive self-concept.

Abstract

Mahasiswa kedokteran tidak hanya berfokus pada kegiatan akademik di dalam kelas, tetapi juga berpartisipasi aktif dalam organisasi akademik. Mahasiswa kedokteran yang terlibat dalam kegiatan organisasi sering menjadi faktor utama yang meningkatkan beban yang mereka rasakan, sehingga memicu stres akademik. Stres akademik yang dialami oleh mahasiswa kedokteran dapat dipicu dari bentuk perfeksionisme pada proses pembelajaran di kelas dan kegiatan organisasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran dari dimensi-dimensi perfeksionisme terhadap stres akademik pada mahasiswa kedokteran yang terlibat organisasi. Teknik probability sampling digunakan untuk mengumpulkan subjek yang sesuai dengan kriteria penelitian, dengan total subjek sebanyak 110 mahasiswa. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa seluruh dimensi perfeksionisme yaitu sociall prescribed perfectionism, self-oriented perfectionism, dan other-oriented perfectionism berperan secara positif dan signifikan terhadap stres akademik (0.322; 0.115; 0.470; p<0.05). Selain itu, perfeksionisme secara unidimensi juga membuktikan dapat berperan secara positif dan signifikan terhadap stres akademik pada mahasiswa kedokteran yang terlibat organisasi (0.124; p<0.05). Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran bagi mahasiswa kedokteran dan instansi pendidikan kedokteran terkait kondisi stres akademik dan fenomena perfeksionisme dalam setting pendidikan, untuk menentukan program yang tepat dalam mengurangi maupun mencegah kondisi tersebut, sebagai upaya meningkatkan produktivitas dan kesejahteraan mahasiswa.

Abstract

Prisoners are one of the vulnerable groups who experience psychological problems. Conditions in prisons, limited activities, and deprivation of freedom give rise to psychological problems in prisons, which affect the low meaning of life. The low meaning of life can lead to erroneous meaning for prisoners of drug abuse. Prisoners can think that drug use and drug addiction behavior are the only positive aspects of their lives. The purpose of providing Logotherapy intervention with the Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy technique for prisoners of narcotics abuse in Prison “X” is to increase the meaning of life in prisoners, which is done by inviting inmates to determine the meaning of life through sources of meaning life. The method used in this study is a quantitative method supported by qualitative data derived from observations and interviews. The results showed an effect of giving Logotherapy intervention on the level of meaningfulness of life in the subject. Keywords: Logotherapy, meaning in life, narcotics prisoners
