Abstract

Energy requirements are increasing rapidly. The building sector is one of the world's largest energy consumers. The proportion ranges from 10-15 percent in developing countries and more than 40 percent in developed countries. Building is designed to accommodate human activities should apply designs that are able to minimize the amount of energy consumption during the construction process and when the building is operating and occupied. The simulation process in this study was computerized with the help of the main software used was EnergyPlus v8.1 and version 0.7 of Open Studio plugins that were run on Google Sketchup v7.0 software. Simulation is only done on one typical floor in the position in the middle of the total height of the building. The dimensions of this hypothetical floor are 40m x 40m with floor to floor 4.2 m height and floor to ceiling 2.8 m. This model is expected to represent the typical office building. The amount of energy consumption in this building is indirectly derived from the design of the building envelope. The results of this study indicate the greater the value of Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC), the greater the heat radiation from sunlight that will enter the building / room. The results in higher temperatures in the room and higher energy consumption in the building. Every decrease in SHGC is 0.2, it will increase energy consumption by approximately 9 kWh / m2. In addition, to achieve the thermal comfort of occupants by doing a decrease in room temperature settings it will also have an impact on the amount of energy consumption. The increase in energy consumption of each Air Temperature is lowered by 1°C by 3.44 kWh / m2.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract. The building sector is one of the world's largest energy consumers. This problem is further exacerbated by our dependence on non-renewable energy sources. More than 90% of the world's energy comes from fossil energy including oil, natural gas and coal whose availability in nature continues to decrease because they cannot be renewed. Green design is a reaction to the global environmental crisis. Green design which also leads to eco design, or design for environment is the art of designing physical objects and the surrounding environment to balance sustainable principles with economic, social, and ecological aspects. As a construction actor, you are required to be able to produce a building design that does not require too much energy consumption and also of course considers the comfort of the occupants in it. In an effort to develop the campus, Universitas Gadjah Mada seeks to make the UGM campus a Green Campus. One of the buildings at UGM and the first building at UGM to be certified as a green building by the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI), namely Building B, Faculty of Biology UGM with 43% energy savings points, 30% water and 65% efforts to utilize local materials . From the Energy sector, this building applies a small percentage of window/glass openings, uses reflective paint so as to minimize heat that will be transmitted into the building, external shading devices (shading), applies insulation on the roof, a variable refrigerant type HVAC system (VRF). ) with a high COP so that it can save more energy and use artificial lighting / energy-saving lamps. From the water sector, using a toilet fixture with a low flow so that it can save water. Meanwhile, the use of materials includes the use of clay tiles, hebel walls and other materials that are local products.

Abstract

One of the spaces needed for urban communities, one of which is the public area (public space). The condition of open space / open space RW 04 Kelurahan Bener Yogyakarta City is quite interesting to note. Some areas of open space are used by the community not according to their main function. It is hoped that the solution of the design to problems that exist in the field can provide benefits to the surrounding community, such as making areas that look unorganized become designed and do not create a slum impression. The use of linear open space with a good design in dense areas can give an aesthetic impression to an area and provide many benefits, especially in social terms, cleanliness can also be reflected because in general, slum areas often occur / form slums. In addition, the design proposal with the concept of the character approach that is owned by RW 04, Kelurahan Bener is a KB village. by applying it as a social, economic, and ecological function. Point one is focused on bringing out the village character, the second point is character and improves the function of the information board and the third point is improving the function of the gathering place. Keywords: Open Space, Linear Open space, KB Village, Ecology

Abstract

Sidewalks are essential for facilitating pedestrian movement and promoting sustainable transportation in urban areas. On Kapten Sudibyo Street in Tegal City, which serves as a main access route to Kardinah Hospital, the sidewalks currently do not meet adequate safety and comfort standards. Problems such as uneven surfaces, reduced width, poor maintenance, and obstructions like illegal parking and public facilities hinder pedestrian comfort and accessibility. This study aims to assess the comfort level of these sidewalks, focusing on factors including width, cleanliness, surface condition, lighting, and signage. Using qualitative method with observations and Guttman-scale surveys distributed to 200 respondents, mainly local students who frequently use the sidewalks, the research analyzed how these factors impact perceived comfort. The results reveal a generally low comfort level, with 72% of respondents expressing dissatisfaction due to poor conditions of the sidewalk. Key recommendations include widening sidewalks to a minimum of 200 cm, repairing uneven surfaces, maintaining cleanliness, upgrading lighting, and providing clear signage. Additional measures involve relocating obstructive public facilities and enforcing regulations against illegal parking to enhance accessibility and safety. These improvements are crucial for creating a more inviting and functional pedestrian space, encouraging walking as a mode of transport, and contributing to a healthier urban environment.

Abstract

Light will fall on an object and be reflected back to our eyes so we can see these objects. Visual comfort will be achieved when there is sufficient lighting in a room. If the light that comes in is less or more, it will disturb the comfort of human vision. The objective of this study is to delineate the area in the Gedhong Hinggil Dalem Mangkubumen Building to see whether it meets comfort standards for office buildings. The purpose of this study is to analyze whether the Gedhong Hinggil building is suitable to be used as a workplace, so that it can provide input to campus managers to be able to improve the condition of the workplace without eliminating the authentic hierarchy of the traditional Gedhong Hinggil building. On average, the intensity values for rooms in the rectorate do not meet SNI requirements. The west side and east side areas already have quite wide openings. This building is a cultural heritage building that cannot be changed, to comply with the established SNI standards for work spaces or offices, the light intensity in the room can be increased by adding artificial lighting (lamps). The final result of this study shows that the Gedhong Hinggil Dalem Mangkubumen building does not meet the standards if used as an office building. This is because the building originally functioned as the residence of the Crown Prince.
