Abstract

The main factor that encourages poor households to own a business is the ease of access to capital. The research findings show that households that have access to credit are proven to be more motivated to own a business. In addition, the more dominant family members have cell phones, the more likely a household is to own a business. From this research, the policy implications that can be carried out are intensifying and ease of providing business capital for micro-enterprises, providing training and coaching, especially in starting businesses for poor households based on simple technology. Owning MSEs has the potential and opportunity to improve the welfare of poor households through business ownership in the form of micro and small businesses.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in regional economic growth, yet their development is often constrained by limited access to financial services and ineffective marketing strategies. This study aims to examine the influence of financial technology and marketing strategies on MSME development in Magelang Regency. A quantitative approach was employed using primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to MSME actors who utilize fintech services. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to test the effect of independent variables on MSME development. The results indicate that financial technology has a significant positive effect on MSME growth, particularly through improved transaction efficiency, payment security, and access to financial services. In contrast, marketing strategy does not show a statistically significant impact, suggesting that current practices remain relatively simple and limited in scope. However, the interaction between fintech and marketing holds potential to enhance brand awareness and consumer trust, particularly through digital payments and online marketplaces. The study concludes that fintech adoption is a key driver of MSME development, while marketing strategies require further strengthening. Policymakers and business stakeholders are encouraged to promote fintech literacy and digital marketing training to support sustainable MSME growth.

Abstract

ESG has become a strategic framework for sustainability, stakeholder engagement, and corporate value creation, while financial performance is commonly measured through profitability and market-based indicators. The purpose of this research is to examine how the disclosure of environmental, social, and governance information influences corporate financial outcomes in the mining sector. A quantitative approach was applied using multiple linear regression analysis on secondary data drawn from company reports. The results reveal that environmental disclosure has a significant positive effect on financial performance, as it enhances efficiency, reduces costs, and strengthens corporate reputation. In contrast, social and governance disclosures do not show a significant impact, indicating that their implementation remains largely formalistic and has not translated into measurable financial benefits. The findings highlight the importance of prioritizing environmental initiatives within ESG practices while suggesting the need for more substantive approaches to social and governance aspects. This study contributes to the literature by providing sector-specific insights and offering practical implications for companies seeking to align sustainability disclosure with financial value creation.

Abstract

The decades-old herbal products are one of the potentials owned by Trasan Village, Bandongan District, Magelang Regency. Because of the products’ perceived efficacy, their longevity is assured. The products have not received halal certification, thus one of the issues these businesses face is that marketing is still done by going door-to-door. Thus far, halal goods and equipment have been used in the traditional production of herbal products. On the other hand, the UMKM owners will have more chances to grow the marketing network if the products have received halal certification. Additionally, the owners hope to grow their company by reaching a larger market with herbal items. Thus, to increase market penetration, digital marketing training is required. This community service program aims to support traditional herbal product producers with digital marketing and the implementation of the halal product process. Giving training and supervision on the halal certification procedure for UMKM owners and the usage of suitable digital marketing constitutes this community service. Partners receive training on the benefits of registering halal items, the necessity of a halal product certification process, and how to use digital marketing tools. Herbal product entrepreneurs can identify and fulfil the requirements for the halal product process and implement marketing strategies by using digital media with the help of the training and mentorship programs offered. The result of this program showed an increase in the quantity and value of the products. Sales of herbal products have now spread to Yogyakarta due to the increasingly wide marketing area and increasing customer trust in the quality and halal-ness of the products.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises in Magelang Regency face challenges in maintaining competitiveness due to limited access to quality raw materials, capital, and effective marketing strategies. Digital tools, such as social media and digital payments, have transformed consumer behavior, offering opportunities for business growth. This study aims to evaluate the impact of product quality, business capital, and digital-based marketing on the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises in Magelang Regency. A quantitative approach was used, with data collected from 40 enterprises through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings show that digital-based marketing significantly enhances enterprise development, particularly in increasing sales turnover and customer growth. In contrast, product quality and business capital have no significant impact, likely due to local market preferences for affordable products and the use of capital for daily operations. These results suggest that digital marketing is a key driver of growth for micro, small, and medium enterprises in Magelang Regency. The study concludes that enterprise owners should prioritize digital marketing strategies, such as using social media and e-commerce platforms, to boost competitiveness, while policymakers should support digital literacy programs to strengthen the local economy.
