Abstract

Kulit batang trengguli (Cassia fistula L) mengandung senyawa yang bersifat antioksidan yang dapat ditentukan dengan metode peredaman radikal bebas 1,1-Difenil-2- Pikrilhidrazil (DPPH). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui adanya peredaman radikal bebas DPPH oleh ekstrak etanol kulit batang trengguli (EEKBT), fraksi Etil asetat (FEAKBT), fraksi n-Heksan (FnHKBT), fraksi air (FAKBT) dan vitamin C sebagai pembanding. Identifikasi golongan senyawa dilakukan dengan penapisan fitokimia. Fraksinasi dilakukan dengan metode ekstraksi cair-cair dengan tingkat kepolaran yang berbeda. Aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan peredaman warna radikal bebas DPPH menggunakan spektrofotometri UVVis. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Fraksi etil asetat memiliki aktivitas antioksidan paling baik dengan nilai IC50 3,980 μg/ml dibandingkan vitamin C 4,716 μg/ml. Sedangkan nilai IC50 ekstrak etanaol, fraksi n-heksan, fraksi air adalah 10,613 μg/ml, 38,904 μg/ml dan 7,636 μg/ml terhadap peredaman warna DPPH.Kata kunci: Antioksidan, Cassia fistula, Fraksinasi, metode DPPH

Abstract

Betel leaf is a natural ingredient that people use as a traditional medicine. One of the ingredients found in red betel leaves is a phenolic compound in the form of flavonoids, a photoprotective substance that can be used as protection from UV radiation. Sunscreen is a cosmetic preparation that can protect the skin from UV radiation and reduce the amount of radiation harmful to the skin. This study aimed to formulate a lotion preparation from red betel leaf extract that has activity as a sunscreen. Red betel leaf (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav) was extracted using the maceration method. Preparation formulations were made with variations of red betel leaf ethanol extract in each formula, namely with concentrations of 0.04% (F1), 0.05% (F2), 0.06% (F3), and base control (F0). The activity of sunscreen lotion extract is based on the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) value using UV-VIS spectrophotometry at wavelengths of 290–320 nm using the Mansur equation. The results of the SPF value of the lotion are F1 of 13.48, F2 of 16.71, and F3 of 18.7. The evaluation of the lotion results obtained a light green lotion with M/A emulsion type that met the requirements, including homogeneity, pH, spreadability, viscosity, centrifugation test, and freeze and thaw test. Research results show that betel leaf extract lotion is physically stable and has a high SPF value, so it has the potential to be a sunscreen.

Abstract

Acne can be caused by dust, sweat, and dirt that stick to the skin, forming blackheads. When blackheads become infected with bacteria, inflammation can occur. Therefore, it is essential to maintain good skin hygiene. One way to do this is by using natural ingredients with antibacterial properties. Red betel leaf is known to have antibacterial activity. This study aims to create a facial wash using red betel leaf extract that exhibits antibacterial properties against Propionibacterium acnes. The red betel leaf was extracted using the maceration method. Antibacterial testing was conducted against Propionibacterium acnes bacteria using the suitable diffusion method with a combination of red betel leaf extract at 10%, 15%, and 20%. The study found that facial wash products containing extract concentrations of 10%, 15%, and 20% demonstrated good physical stability, meeting the requirements of SNI-19-4380-1996 for pH, viscosity, specific gravity, and foam height. Additionally, the products showed potent antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes bacteria, with inhibition zones of 29.0 mm, 32.6 mm, and 35.3 mm for the 10%, 15%, and 20% concentrations, respectively.

Abstract

Tetracycline (TC) residues in poultry meat products can create antibiotic resistance in humans who consume them. Hence, sensitive analytical procedures to evaluate the quantities of tetracycline residues are required to assess the safety of these products for consumption. The study aimed to develop a sorbent using molecular imprinting technology to analyze tetracycline in chicken broiler meat products. The study used several tests and computational techniques to increase the effectiveness of screening for the best MIP systems. According to the bond energybased computational analysis, methacrylate acid (MAA) was the best functional monomer at a TC-to-MAA molar ratio of 1:6. The mixture of methanol and chloroform yielded the greatest Ka. The Job plot showed that a TC-to-MAA-molar ratio of 1:6 was best for synthesizing imprinted polymer in the mixture of methanol and chloroform. We generated MIPs using two alternative production methods: bulk (MIP1) and precipitation (MIP2). Adsorption capacity results revealed that MIP1 matches well with the Langmuir model, whereas MIP2 fits better with the Freundlich. MIP1 application produced recovery rates of 82,74±4.1% and MIP2 results of 92.14±3.2% for TC in spike-chicken meat. The outcomes of the selectivity test also demonstrated that MIP2 is superior to MIP1 and can recover TC from spiked chicken meat while coexisting with another antibiotic drug. The study’s findings indicate that MIP2 helps determine TC in spike chicken meat.

Abstract

Perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS) merupakan suatu praktik tentang perilaku seseorang dengan cara memperhatikan kebersihan, kesehatan, dan berperilaku sehat untuk meningkatkan derajat kesehatan. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memberikan workshop kepada siswa dan guru Madrasah Tsanawih (MTS) Pesantren Persatuan Isalam (Persis) 99 Rancabango mengenai cara pembuatan sabun batang, sabun cuci tangan dan sabun cuci piring secara sederhana. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini yaitu melakukan pre-test mengenai mengenai perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat yang terkolerasi dengan berbagai aktivitas di pesantren, workshop pembuatan sabun batang, sabun cuci piring dan sabun cuci tangan oleh peserta kegiatan pengabdian, pemberian produk hasil workshop kepada peserta dan post-test. Selanjutnya dilakukan pengisian kuisioner tingkat kepuasan siswa dan guru terhadap kegiatan workshop, pemberian sertifikat, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan dilakukan pelatihan pembuatan produk kebersihan yang umum digunakan di rumah tangga, bahan dasar sabun yang digukan diantaranya adalah Natrium lauril sulfat, Natrim sulfat, amphitol, Natrium EDTA, pewarna, pewangi dan air. Dari kegiatan berlangung peserta mendapatkan pengalaman membuat dan mengolah produk pembersih sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai bagian produk dalam meningkatkan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat  hasil evaluasi menunjukkan ada peningkatan pengetahuan siswa dan guru mengenai perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat yang dapat dilihat dari hasil evaluasi pre-test dan pos-test yaitu dari 82% menjadi 90% yang artinya adanya peningkatan sebesar 8%, dan untuk hasil kuesioner kepuasan siswa dan guru terhadap workshop pembuatan sabun yang diberikan yaitu menyatakan 99% siswa dan guru puas terhadap workshop yang diberikan.

Abstract

Daun cincau hijau (Premna oblongata Miq) merupakan tanaman asli Indonesia dengan kandungan polifenol dan flavonoid yang berperan sebagai antioksidan dan dapat melindungi tubuh dari paparan sinar UV. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak dan fraksi kemudian dilakukan pengembangan formulasi sediaan gel dari fraksi teraktif daun cincau hijau (Premna oblongata Miq.) yang tepat sehingga dihasilkan gel antioksidan yang efektif, stabil, dan aman dalam penggunaannya. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak, fraksi etil asetat, fraksi n Heksan dan fraksi air dengan nilai IC50 58,12 ppm, 46,93 ppm, 419,26 ppm dan 60,55 ppm menggunakan metode DPPH. Hasil pengujian optimasi basis menunjukan formula karbopol 940 0,5% menunjukan evaluasi yang paling baik. Kemudian dilakukan formulasi sedian gel menggunakan basis 0,5 % dengan variasi konsentrasi fraksi daun cincau hijau yaitu 10;20 dan 30% . Berdasarkan pengujian antioksidan sediaan menunjukan aktivitas antioksidan masing-masing sediaan yaitu 51,50; 74,85; dan 76,01 ppm. Hasil evaluasi fsik dilihat dari parameter organoleptik, homogenitas, pH dan viskositas menunjukan sediaan gel relatif stabil dan aman. Hasil uji kemanan sediaan gel tidak menunjukan terjadinya iritasi.
