Despite Indonesia's status as the world's largest Muslim-majority country and its significant market potential for Islamic financial products, there are considerable gaps in the implementation of Islamic monetary policy. These gaps include low financial literacy, regulatory frameworks that are not yet fully supportive, and infrastructure limitations. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the implementation of Islamic monetary policy, analyze the challenges it faces, and provide strategic recommendations to enhance its effectiveness. Abstract

This study aims to analyze risk management in Sharia-based Peer-to-Peer (P2P) lending, with a case study on PT Qazwa Mitra Hasanah. Sharia fintech has grown rapidly as an alternative financing source, particularly for MSMEs, which often face challenges in accessing traditional financial institutions. However, like conventional fintech, Sharia fintech also faces various risks from both the lender and borrower sides. Therefore, it is essential to understand how this business model manages risks in alignment with Sharia principles. This study adopts a qualitative research method with descriptive analysis. Data were gathered from literature sources, such as ebooks, company publications, government reports, previous research data, and official sources like Qazwa.id. The study also includes a risk analysis covering operational, financial, and legal aspects. Findings indicate that PT Qazwa, in its Sharia-based P2P lending model, implements comprehensive risk management, including risk identification, mitigation of credit risk, operational risk, Sharia compliance, and liquidity management. Risk identification is carried out through strict e-KYC verification to secure the identities of both lenders and borrowers. Credit risk mitigation involves Sharia-compliant credit scoring, portfolio diversification, and financial management education for MSMEs, thus reducing the risk of default.

Abstract

The rapid growth of Sharia-based peer-to-peer (P2P) lending fintech in Indonesia is accompanied by major challenges, particularly liquidity risk that may disrupt platform stability. This study aims to identify the sources of liquidity risk in Islamic fintech and formulate a mitigation model aligned with Sharia principles. A qualitative approach with descriptive-analytical and case study methods was employed. Data were collected from literature review, official reports by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and observation of practices in selected Islamic P2P platforms. The findings indicate that liquidity risks are primarily caused by borrower payment delays, maturity mismatch, panic withdrawals by lenders, and the limited availability of Sharia-compliant liquidity instruments. The proposed mitigation model includes the use of Sharia reserve funds based on tabarru’, automated payments via blockchain-based smart contracts, funding diversification through fintech sukuk, and early warning systems powered by AI. This study recommends that regulators issue specific guidelines on liquidity risk management in Islamic fintech and promote inter-institutional collaboration to ensure a resilient and sustainable Islamic financial ecosystem.

Abstract

Waqf is an Islamic economic instrument with significant potential to promote community welfare, yet it continues to face challenges related to transparency, asset certification, and public engagement. The advancement of blockchain technology particularly the use of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) presents an innovative opportunity for the digitalization of waqf, especially as a means of creating unique, transparent, and verifiable asset certifications. This study employs a qualitative approach through a literature review to analyze the potential and challenges of utilizing NFTs within the framework of sharia-compliant digital waqf. The findings indicate that NFTs hold great promise in enhancing efficiency, expanding public participation, and promoting digitally-driven productive waqf models. However, several critical issues remain, including legal uncertainty, the risk of gharar (ambiguity), value volatility, and the lack of supporting infrastructure and digital literacy. This study recommends strengthening regulatory frameworks, developing adaptive fiqh guidelines, and increasing public education to support the implementation of NFTs as a waqf instrument aligned with maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah and capable of delivering broad benefits to the Muslim community.

Abstract

The rapid development of banking The phenomenon of doom spending has become a trending issue among Indonesian youth. This behavior contradicts Islamic economic principles, such as wasatiyyah (moderation) and qana’ah (contentment), and has negative implications for financial stability and social well-being. This study employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to understand the behavior of doom spending and its implications for Islamic financial management. The findings reveal that doom spending increases the risk of debt, reduces the allocation of wealth for zakat and charity, and undermines the blessings (barakah) of wealth. Contributing factors include emotional pressure from stress or anxiety, the influence of consumerist culture, and the role of social media in promoting materialistic lifestyles. Proposed solutions include enhancing Islamic financial literacy, leveraging financial technology, and strengthening spiritual awareness. These findings underscore the importance of wise wealth management in accordance with Islamic principles to achieve financial balance and a blessed life.
