Abstract

The role of government is very important in an Islamic economy. The government is not only responsible for the establishment of Islamic values and norms in the society ,but also in economic matters such as fulfillment of basic needs, achieving full employment, price stability and low inflation, growth and development that lead to economic well being and welfare.  T o achieve that goal, the government certainly needs an appropriate policy to direct the economy into desired goal and direction.One of the policies is monetary policy .Monetary policy refers to the control of the supply of money to achieve and accomplish manageable inflation,price stability ,full employment and steady growth in the economy. This research tries to investigate the role of monetary policy and its implication on economic development in an Islamic perspective conceptually and theoretically. It found that the role of monetary policy is the same as that in modern economy, except that in Islamic economy ,the role of government is to ensure the Islamic values and nor ms to prevail in the society including the establishment of free interest economy and Islamic financial system that is free from interest based. The instruments of monetary policy in an Islamic perspective are not only confined in using open market operation, reserve ratio, discount rate, but also beyond those tools such as credit rationing, lending ratio and profit ratio which are based on the Islamic principles of interest free based economy.

Abstract

In our modern time, people will not be able to live without having involved with the financial institution. Nowadays, most of the economic and business transaction is done through the financial institution especially banking system. It is no doubt that the financial institutions have played very significant role in supporting economic development. Since we are interested in interest-free banking system, we will investigate the role of Islamic banking in economic development in Indonesia. This research is literature and library research, in the sense that it reviews the role of Islamic banking in economic development conceptually and theoretically, it analyzes the role of bank in mobilization, allocation and utilization of its resources and make a comparative analysis between what have been done by Islamic bank vis a vis conventional bank in terms of their performance in mobilization, allocation and utilization of their resources in helping economic development. This research concludes that Islamic bank, despite it operates without interest and does its operation with the principle of profit and loss system; it performs well in doing mobilization, allocation and utilization of its resources for economic development. It performs well in saving mobilization, income and wealth generation and asset accumulation as well as credit financing within syariah framework by implementing principles such as Murabaha andMudarabah financing. This research also found that the Islamic bank average growth rate of asset, saving mobilization and credit financing during ten years of this study is better than that of conventional bank, though its return on asset (ROA) is still lower than that of the conventional bank. In line with this conclusion, what is urgent to be taken in further study is how far the Islamic banks channel their resources into riskier projects, such as Mudarabah financing projects, since the higher the risk, the higher the profit. It is also urgent to take further quantitative research on how far the presence of the Islamic banks has a positive impact on economic development.

Abstract

Fiscal policy beside monetary policy is usually used by the government to overcome the macro economic problems regarding stabilization in the short-run such as control of inflation to make it low inflation, alleviating poverty, achieving full employment and control of balance of payment to make it in balance or even surplus and in the long-run achieving economic growth, prosperity and sustainable economic development. This research tries to investigate the role of fiscal policy and its implication on economic development in an Islamic perspective conceptually and theoretically. It found that the instrument of fiscal policy in an Islamic perspective not only using tax and government expenditure but also zakah which could be utilized to counter cyclical fiscal policy. Zakah as one of the instrument of fiscal policy could also be utilized to achieve equitable distribution of income and wealth as the basic characteristic of zakah is redistribution of wealth taken from the rich and given to the poor ones. In the time of stagflation, zakah instrument could become powerful tool to overcome that problem through demand side and thus stimulate production. Although this mechanism is not as simple as we perceived, zakah does help overcome the macroeconomic problems on conditions that we also adopt and implement Islamic values and Islamic norms in our economy.

Abstract

       Permen jelly adalah produk yang berbahan dasar sari buah, gula dan asam sitrat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah : 1). Mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan massa kulit manggis yang berbeda yaitu 150 gram, 200 gram, 250 gram terhadap kualitas permen jelly kulit manggis. 2). Mengetahui kandungan Antioksidan yang terdapat dalam permen jelly kulit manggis dengan penggunaan massa kulit manggisyang berbeda. 3).Mengetahui tingkat kesukaan masyarakat terhadap permen jelly kulit manggis dengan penggunaan massa kulit manggis yang berbeda.       Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah penilaian subyektif dengan uji inderawi dan uji kesukaan. Teknik analisis datanya adalah dengan menggunakan uji normalisasi, uji homogenitas, analisis varian (ANAVA) dan uji tukey untuk menguji hipotesis dan analisis deskriptif persentase untuk mengetahui kesukaan masyarakat terhadap permen jelly kulit manggis serta dan metode spektro Photo meter (DppH) dalam analisis kandungan antioksidan pada permen jelly kulit manggis.       Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah 1). Sampel A (massa kulit manggis 150 gram) rata-ratanya3,3 dan kandungan antioksidannya 19,451%. 2). Sampel B (massa kulit manggis 200 gram) rata-ratanya2,7 dan kandungan antioksidannya 20,537% 3). Sampel C (massa kulit manggis 250 gram) rata-ratanya 2,1 dan kandungan antioksidannya 24,689% 4). Pada uji kesukaan masing masing (sampel A, B dan C) presentasenya 84,33 %, 83,9% dan 83,4% maka semakin banyak penggunaan massa kulit manggis memiliki kandungan antioksidan semakin banyak.       Saran pada penelitian ini yaitu permen jelly dengan menggunakan 150 gram kulit manggis bisa disosialkan ke masyarakat. Penambahan flavour pada permen jelly supaya mengurangi aroma langu serta diperlukannya penelitian lanjut agar bisa menghasilkan produk yang maksimal.Kata Kunci : permen jelly, kulit manggis

Abstract

Jagung sebagai bahan pangan akan semakin diminati konsumen, terutamabagi yang mementingkan pangan sehat, dengan harga terjangkau bagi semuakalangan. Selain sebagai sumber karbohidrat, jagung juga merupakan sumberprotein yang penting dalam menu masyarakat di Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian iniadalah : 1) mengetahui kandungan vitamin B1 pada pasta spagetty tepung jagungdengan massa jagung 250 gram, 300 gram dan 350 gram. 2) mengetahuikandungan vitamin B2 pada pasta spagetty tepung jagung dengan massa jagung250 gram, 300 gram dan 350 gram. 3) mengetahui kandungan vitamin proteinpada pasta spagetty tepung jagung dengan massa jagung 250 gram, 300 gram dan350 gram. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah penilaian subyektifdengan spektro photo meter (DppH) dalam analisis kandungan B1, B2 dan proteinpada pasta spagetty menggunakan bahan dasar tepung jagung. Analisis destripsiprosentase pada uji kesukaan konsumen. Hasil penelitian pasta spagetty darijagung yaitu 1) sampel A (massa jagung 250 gram) vitamin B1 49, 053 %, protein5, 671 % dan air 52, 865 %. 2) sampel B (massa jagung 300 gram) B1 52, 089 %,protein 5, 391 % dan air 56,897 % 3) sampel C (massa jagung 350 gram) B154,897 %, protein 5, 082 % dan air 60, 482 %. Kesimpulan pada penelitian inibahwa kandungan dari spagetty dari bahan dasar tepung jagung local bisamemiliki kwalitas yang tidak jauh berbeda dengan spagetty pada umumnyasehingga kedepannya dapat di jadikan alternative olahan makanan bahan dasarjagung.Kata kunci : spagetty, jagung, vitamin

Abstract

This activity is a community service activity for the people of Purbosari village, Ngadirejo sub-district, Temanggung Regency. as part of the activities of the Central Java Province Bappeda for the 2017 fiscal year. The problem that is being handled is the problem of the loss of livelihoods of the tobacco farming community due to restrictions on tobacco farming and tobacco products. This activity is also an implementation of the Regulation of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 28 / PMK.07 / 2016 concerning the Use, Monitoring and Evaluation of Tobacco Excise Production Sharing Funds. The model used is a community-based tourism development model as a form of the tourism sector's creative economy that provides optimal benefits to the community. The service process is carried out by means of efforts to empower the people's economy in the tourism sector with a community-based tourism (CBT) approach or community-based tourism by involving local communities in activities, which include the introduction of tourism potential and training on the utilization of local non-tobacco agricultural potentials to be processed into culinary products and by by tours. The local community is motivated to become the main actor in the management of tourism activities that arise from the utilization of the local potential that exists in the service location. The result of this activity is the achievement of community understanding of tourism as an alternative to activities other than tobacco farming, understanding of local tourism potential, development of tourism activities and tourism support activities in the location.

Abstract

The food consumption diversification program for the people of Kwadungan Village is the basis for community-based tourism economic empowerment activities that process cassava plants into various selling-worthy snacks to tourists. The problem faced is the lack of knowledge on how to make cassava based snacks. The community service model is to directly involve groups of women tobacco farmers in utilizing the potential of local agricultural plants to become a typical culinary product of Kwadungan Village. The results of the activity were various snack products from the training of cassava processing such as cassava sticks, cassava croquettes, cassava klapertaart and cassava pastels made by women from tobacco farming groups.

Abstract

This literature review examines hedging strategies employed by companies to mitigate foreign exchange risk in cross-border transactions. The aim is to synthesize findings from existing studies to provide a comprehensive understanding of the effectiveness, determinants, and challenges of currency hedging practices. The review follows a systematic approach, including searching, selecting, and analyzing relevant literature from 2018 to 2024. The findings reveal that companies actively use various derivative instruments and operational hedging techniques to manage exchange rate exposure. While many studies demonstrate the effectiveness of hedging strategies in reducing risk and enhancing firm performance, some report inconsistent results, suggesting that hedging effectiveness can vary depending on various factors. Firm size, financial leverage, growth opportunities, and the level of exchange rate exposure consistently influence firms' decisions to hedge. However, implementing hedging strategies also faces challenges related to instrument selection, transaction costs, margin requirements, and accounting treatment. The review identifies research gaps, including the need for studies in emerging markets, exploration of innovative hedging techniques, integrated research approaches, and investigation of the non-financial impacts of hedging. The findings contribute to our understanding of currency hedging strategies and provide valuable insights for companies in managing exchange rate risk in an increasingly dynamic global business environment.

Abstract

The aftermath of Covid-19 significantly impacted the culinary industry in Indonesia, leading to a decline in culinary and hospitality education. In response, STIEPARI Semarang collaborated with the Indonesian Chef Association (ICA) BPD Central Java to address the reduced interest in this field. The community service aimed to enhance the plating skills of high school and university students, focusing on traditional dishes. The program involved 10 students from vocational schools and university students majoring in hospitality in Semarang. Training sessions, led by ICA experts, concentrated on plating traditional foods like onde-onde, lumpia, gethuk, corobikan, kue ku, and others. Faculty members from UDINUS and STIEPARI, along with ICA Central Java members, actively participated. The initiative not only improved practical skills but also aimed to increase the market value of traditional dishes through appealing presentations. Results showed improved plating skills, especially with traditional dishes, contributing to higher sales potential. Furthermore, the initiative positively impacted the preservation of culinary heritage. Thus, this community service not only enhanced students' skills but also promoted and preserved traditional culinary practices, positively impacting education, tourism, and the culinary industry in Central Java.

Abstract

The general objective of this study was to determine the culinary mapping of Peranakan Chinese menu in Semarang City, Central Java. The specific objectives of this research are to find out how to provide Peranakan Chinese menu culinary based on the number and types that exist in Semarang City. Furthermore, to find out how to serve the Peranakan Chinese menu culinary provision and to find out efforts to preserve the Peranakan Chinese menu as a culinary speciality of Semarang City. The technique of collecting primary data is very useful for collecting information needed for analysis and decision making. Based on the results of the research, it is obtained that the provision of Peranakan Chinese menu culinary in the city of Semarang in several types of dishes and drinks still uses original recipes from ancestors, both cooking ingredients, spices and cooking techniques. The culinary presentation of the Peranakan Chinese menu in some culinary shows distinctiveness without leaving its authenticity even though there are several additional menu variants. Efforts to preserve the Peranakan Chinese menu as a culinary speciality of the city of Semarang have been made by culinary business people, families, communities and the Semarang City government.
