Abstract

The existence of pesantren today, apart from being an educational institution in the religious field, is also expected to be able to provide an example towards creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship to students. The purpose of this service activity is to empower the application of probio_Fm technology in laying duck cultivation, transfer knowledge of laying duck cultivation, and build an entrepreneurial spirit for students and the community around the boarding school. The service method uses an active participatory approach, starting with preparation and socialization activities, training, mentoring in duck cultivation, harvesting, and data collection. Data analysis was carried out by qualitative descriptive analysis. The results show that the pesantren community has been empowered to apply probio_FM technology for duck cultivation, both through drinking water and feed. The application of probio_FM technology in the cultivation of laying ducks makes the cultivation method easy, does not cause odors around the pesantren environment, and egg productivity reaches 87.5%.

Abstract

Introduction: In the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, the use of coconuts is currently limited to the fruit only. Whether consumed fresh (young coconut water and young fruit flesh), or processed as food (grated coconut and coconut milk), the coconut shell and husk have not been utilized optimally. Efforts to optimize coconut shells can be used as raw material for making liquid smoke. The aim of this research is to describe the process of making liquid smoke from coconut shell waste by utilizing the resulting shell waste and classifying liquid smoke based on its color. Methods: The process of making liquid smoke in this research is by utilizing solid coconut shell waste from coconut milk presses around campus, then processing it into liquid smoke, using a pyrolysis equipment (Grant from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education in 2009) at a temperature of 300°C for 8 hours . Results: The results of the research show that the liquid smoke produced is blackish brown in color with an L value, smaller than grades 2 and 1, while the a and b values are greater than grades 2 and 1, so it can be classified into grade 3. Conclusion: Liquid smoke Grade 3 cannot be used for food preservatives, because it still contains a lot of tar which is carcinogenic. The use of liquid smoke can only be used as a coagulant and odor remover in rubber processing because liquid smoke has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, pesticides, wood and bamboo preservatives to make it resistant to termites.

Abstract

This study aims: (1) To describe farmers' perceptions of climate change with lowland rice production in Banyuasin Village (2) To describe the setting of the planting season and management of lowland rice farming in Banyuasin Village from 2018 to 2021. This study started from the preparation stage in the month of 2018 March 2022 until the data collection stage in June 2022 in Banyuasin Village. The method used in this research is a survey method. The sampling technique used in this study is probability sampling with sample selection using proportionate stratified random sampling. Data collection methods used are interviews, questionnaires, and observation. The data analysis method used in this research is the analysis with the perception index. The perception of lowland rice farmers in Banyuasin Village regarding climate change on the indicators of knowledge, attitudes and expectations is considered good. It can be seen that the total value of perception is 60.6 percent. However, the perception of lowland rice farmers on climate change is not good because the knowledge indicator has a score of 58.5 percent and the attitude indicator has a score of 48.5 percent. The timing of planting by farmers is determined by deliberation, namely once a year and the management of lowland rice farming in Banyuasin Village from 2018 to 2021 includes planning, organization, implementation and supervision.
